Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box Swatches & Review

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box isn’t a new palette but somehow this was not on my radar until recently.

You see, Sephora was FORCING me to spend mass quantities of cash by sending me a teaser coupon. I have bought many things there the last few months because them them FORCING me to use various coupons and discounts, so I wasn’t sure what I *needed*. Then I saw this palette filled with bright amazing looking colors and I knew it would soon belong to me.

The palette includes 9 colors, some bright some more neutral, all with incredible pigmentation.

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box 2

It comes with a mini Primer Potion, which is a nice added bonus.

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box Swatches 1
Fishnet, Honey, Ransom

Fishnet is a bright purple/pink duochrome. Gorgeous color!
Honey is an amazing old gold metallic. I LOVE this kind of gold, so pretty.
Ransom is a vivid purple/blue (and also one of my fav liners from them).

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box Swatches 2
Graffiti, Zero, Peace

Graffiti is a bright shimmery green. Pigmented and vivid!
Zero is a black with subtle sparkles. Very pigmented and nice for a black especially!
Peace is a bright swimming pool blue. Super opaque and nice.

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box Swatches 3
Shag, Scratch, Underground

Shag is a super pigmented metallic copper. Love this one so much.
Scratch is a medium rose gold color. Very pretty and neutral.
Underground is a medium shimmery taupe. Another great one!

So it turns out that this older palette I was unaware of is now my fav Urban Decay palette! I absolutely love each of these colors, would wear them all, and love the soft texture and pigmentation. GREAT palette!

I have and love this one too! The only reason I don’t wear it all the time is that I don’t want it to run out. 😀

It looks like I have a new needful thing!!!

OH! I nominated you for award!

  • December 19, 2011

This was the first thing I ever bought from Urban decay, it got me into buying lots and lots from them.. Still doing this madness :>

I’ve had this one for going on two years now and I love it. I’m an eye shadow hoarder so it’ll take me a while to go through it, but, SQUEEEEE, colors! Beautiful! Lol. 😉

Oh, gosh, yours looks so nice and new compared to mine! I love this palette…it is one of my all-time favorites. Worth every penny!

  • December 19, 2011

Aargh, now I think I need this one! All the colors look fantastic on you! I just don’t think Graffiti and Peace will work on me at all (especially Peace. I’m pretty warm-toned so I’ve been staying away from anything blue all my life)!

Isn’t it dreadful how Sephora forces you to buy buy buy? LOL.

I have this and I love it. I once wore Peace and Fishnet to school, and a drunk guy leaned out of a bar window and yelled “Too much makeup, ma!” LOL. He was surely drunk! 😛

NICE packaging on this! I’d consider buying (I usually don’t buy big palettes) except that the shades I like in it are really similar to stuff I already have. :(

  • December 19, 2011

I absolutely adore this palette! Every shade is such a winner. The price is so right too – all those beautiful UD Deluxe Shadows for only $38 is amazing.

I love this palette. I’ve been using it a lot lately. I tend to pair peace and randsom all the time cus i love the blue and purple together. But i have also been using scratch on the lid and using other bright colors or neutrals with it.
I’ve had it for a few years and really JUST started using it a lot.

I have this palette too & like it a lot. I wish UD would come out with some more Deluxe ES shades, especially some darker ones, to go with the ones they already have. Heck, I wish UD would make some new ES singles… I’m starting to get bored with palettes.

loving it! wish I had it =(

What I find so odd about this palette is that I love all of the shadows in this, but I never use it. Maybe I am intimidated by using all of the bright colors together. I guess after seeing these swatched I will have to try to pull it out and give it some much needed love.

Hahaha, Kelly, I like the way you think! I’m going to have to use that line, too. I just HAD to buy it. Sephora was FORCING me. 😉 Now it’s time to make my list. 😛

I have this palette and love it.

  • December 20, 2011

This is a nice one in that a lot of the shades are not repeats of what has been in other collections like UD did for so long with a # of their box collections of shadows. It’s one of my fav shadow brands, but I have yet to buy this box.

  • December 20, 2011

wow look at that – something I never paid too close attention too either, but now I might just hafta go get dangit!

Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who was being “forced to buy” a product. I bought WAY to much nail polish at Zoya the last few week’s while they were doing the promo’s. They “forced” me too:) I like the color’s in this pallet, except Peace & Graffiti. I’m to old to wear the brighter colors darnit. But I do love them. Thanks for sharing & I hope you have a wonderful Christmas & a happy 2012!

  • December 20, 2011

LOL…I totally agree about them “forcing” us! Needless to say I just got this palette as well- and I love it too! Especially Honey, which was one of the Deluxe Shadows that I didn’t already own. Now I think I have to buy a solo of that one, because it’s become my fave! This is a SUPER handy palette for travel, because it’s got such a wide range of colors, plus neutrals. I LOVE it.

  • December 20, 2011

I’ve had this palette about six months ago, and I really like the colors in it. Especially Fishnet. My only issue is that I find it can be hard to do an entire look using only shades from this palette, unless you’re going with the neutrals. Unless it’s a daring/creative day…but sometimes I don’t feel like doing a blue/purple eye look! XD

  • December 21, 2011

Nice palette. The only thing I miss is a darker, maybe even matte, brown, a color for highlighting and one neutral matte soft brown for blending. thanks for showing! Pishi

Ohhhh, Sephora forces me to spend too much money there too (I am probably going later today, siiiiigh).
The colors on this pallette are great, but it is hard for me to imagine using colors like Peace and Fishnet. I have had the UD Eyeshadow Ammo pallette for a few years now, and have still barely touched Shattered in there. Blue eyes + warm skin tone = those colors are hard to pull off!
Thanks for the great swatches as always, though!
