Color Club Under The Mistletoe Collection for Holiday 2011 Swatches, Photos & Review

Color Club Under The Mistletoe Color Club Under The Mistletoe Collection for Holiday 2011 Swatches, Photos & Review

Color Club Under The Mistletoe is a glittery, holographic collection of six new colors.

Yep, more glitter. But holo glitter is pretty cool I think. And for some reason these seemed a little less messy to remove than some other recent glitters I’ve swatched. Maybe it’s because I only used two coats instead of three (trying to preserve my cuticles!). I didn’t get full coverage with any of these using two coats, and all but one have a clear base.

The glitter in all of these is very small and hexagonal. There is one (Holiday Splendor) which also has TEENY glitter along with the small glitter. To the naked eye this might be harder to detect but luckily my macro lens makes it easier. icon smile Color Club Under The Mistletoe Collection for Holiday 2011 Swatches, Photos & Review

Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy is a pink glitter. This was the second most opaque one in just two coats. Good coverage.

Color Club Holiday Splendor Color Club Under The Mistletoe Collection for Holiday 2011 Swatches, Photos & Review
Holiday Splendor

Holiday Splendor is a gorgeous green turquoise shade with multiple sizes of green glitter. This is by far the best one to me because the base is opaque and it just looks amazing. I wish all the others had a colored base as well.

Overall:

The only one that I really loved was Holiday Splendor. They are nice glitters, but I am feeling like glitters have been done to death by now. I do approve of the holo pieces in them, which makes them at least a little more interesting than your basic glitter.

Availability: Their website and etailers.

Pricing: $8.00.

What do you think about these? Are you all glittered out?

  • I’m with you on this. Except for Holiday splendor, There’s nothing exciting about these glitters. I can get those same ones for a buck at my local nail supply place. Holiday Splendor really is a cool color – how often do u find green glitter? Thnx for doing these!

Pretty. I am always afraid to wear glitter nail polishes. I always have a difficult time taking it off. What is the best nail polish remover for glitter nail polishes?

    • I use regular Cutex but on the bottle it says it removes polish 2 times faster. Works great!

Try the foil method, there are tons of videos on Youtube about it.

  • Holiday Splendor is pretty. I’m with you though, I wish the others were more opaque.

Picked up the whole collection at Ross for $7.99. Kept Sugar Plum Fairy for myself and I am breaking up the rest of the set to use for Christmas gifts. I got all kinds of compliments on the sugar plum fairy and it was definitely easier to take off than some of my other glitters.

  • I have gotten lots of compliments wearing these glitters. I think that these glitters offer better coverage than most, so that they are unique in that regard. In my opinion, the Foiled! set is the coordinating underwear for this set. You can match up the colors almost exactly.

I also wish they had tinted the bases of the others like they did for Holiday Splendor. Holiday Splendor is magical.

Just got Holiday Splendor and Beyond the Mistletoe in the mail today — both are fab in person. Agree that the whole set would’ve been extraordinary if they’d tinted the bases of the others like in H.S. I might use Mistletoe a couple of times and then tint it with … hrm. Maybe Nubar Forest or something.

I picked up this collection from Ross. Like most o you I like it but am not in love. I briefly considered bringing it back but the Ross sets are so cheap and cute that it didn’t seem worth it. I’m sure I’ll get $8 worth of enjoyment out of all of these!

I loooove these glitters, but I hate how they feel on my nails solo – after 3 coats, they’re super thick and gritty. I’ll definitely be using them as layering glitters because they’re spectacular!

  • I love glitters and tend to wear them most of the time, but even with the foil method taking them off is such a pain. I tend to only do my nails once a week now and slather on the Seche Vite to make it last as long as possible.

Ross has the entire collection in a pack for $7.99. In my area every Ross I’ve been to has had at least 4 packs of this collection. So if anyone has a Ross in their area it’s probably a good bet that they have them.

Holiday Splendor is absolutely gorgeous! But the others aren’t anything too amazing to me.

  • I passed up on these when I saw them at my local Harmon…I saw them last second while at the register but held back, mostly because I cant make such decisions so quick and also because I think i’m having a bit of a glitter overload lately. However, I do really like Holiday Splendor especially since it has an opaque base. Maybe I’ll pick it up next time I see it…since I dont have to make any sudden decisions now.

Holiday Splendor is gorgeous, but how does it fair next to China Glaze Atlantis? Is it more green? Or more glitter packed?

    December 14, 2011
  • I love this collection and I think it is hard to capture how pretty they are in pictures. They exceeded my expectations and I was thrilled when I unwrapped them. (A friend sent them to me.) They are pretty gritty, though I found that if I used the clear polish that came with the set it smoothed them out handily.
