Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss Swatches, Photos & Review

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss

Bobbi Brown is a brand I am just recently becoming familiar with. I always associated them with being a boring brand for older women with blah colors. But I’m finding out that’s really not the case!

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss is a line of super shimmery lip glosses that come in thirteen colors. Many of them available online only.

These glosses are vitamin enriched with C and E, and have antioxidant protection in them. They are very glossy, shimmery and moisturizing. They are lacking in one key element for me though…Pigmentation!

Pink Tulle is a pale ballet pink with gold shimmer. As you can see, it’s pretty sheer and doesn’t have a lot of pigmentation to it. Shiny though!

Electric Violet is a fuchsia pink with violet sparkles. Very pretty color, right up my alley but I do wish it was a bit more pigmented also.

These glosses have a slight peppermint scent and taste to them but not as much as say the OCC Lip Tars do.

They don’t feel sticky, and are pretty comfortable to wear. I wish they lasted a bit longer but the average is about 1-2 hours for me before I feel like I need more.

Overall:

I do like these glosses and don’t regret purchasing them, but I wish they were less expensive and had more color bang for my buck!

Availability: Bobbi Brown or Sephora. Both of these colors are available online only.

Pricing: $23.00 for .24 oz.

Have you tried these or any Bobbi Brown glosses?

I have plum gold and black ruby. Both are stunning with great color payoff! Maybe you should try a darker color?

      Hi Jen,

I might just do that. I don’t normally wear dark lip glosses, but you’re right, the pigmentation might be more what I am looking for.

As far as I can tell there are certainly dupes for these in the e.l.f studio glitter glosses range! For a much lower price also..

      Hi Dee,

I have only tried one of the elf shimmery glosses and did like it but it was very sticky…these aren’t but the price difference is pretty huge!

I love the Bobbi Brown lip glosses! They’re so sparkley and right up my alley. Pink Tulle is not available online only. I actually bought mine in store at Macy’s :)

      Hi Caroline,

      Good to know, thx!

I agree with you, Kelly. At that hefty price tag, I would also want more pigmentation because you can find tons of inexpensive clear-ish glosses for waaaay less.

They look pretty and fun in your hand swatches, but on your lips, the colour payoff isn’t as noticeable. Oh well…they still look nice even though they aren’t really pigmented.

I only own one Bobbi Brown lip gloss (in Nougat for a nude lip) so far and I like it despite the stickiness! I think these two will do well over a lipstick though. As a brand I find that Bobbi Brown might lack the “eye-catching” factor MAC or UD has, but I like how the products actually do deliver!

those look like pretty quality glosses – like the texture and such is nice – I’ve been thinking about giving these a try myself, especially since they’re called “High Shimmer” and all :)

Might just as well get the Jordana lip gloss in Sugar Rush! Looks so similar but more pigmented and sparkly and it will save some bucks too

They’re pretty, but for the price they’re not very pigmented. I’d rather pay that price for a good lipstick & put a cheaper gloss over it. But because of you I went out & bought the one by Revlon, I think it was called Decorous or something like that. And it was cheap…LOL. I love your blog!

Why are you willing to accept MAC glosses for their prices & sheerness? Just because it’s MAC people will pay for anything. I don’t mind MAC at all. They have plenty of sheer glosses & lipsticks & people love them. I think it’s just the name MAC that attracts many. Guess you just have to find the right shades ot choose in any brand. All of these higher priced brands are a bit ridiculous with their pricing.

      Hi Lucy,

I don’t love all MAC sheer glosses actually, and very rarely wear them unless I layer them. I prefer my lip gloss from all brands to be pigmented. But also, they are much less expensive than these Bobbi Brown ones also.

I like Electric Violet. I layer glosses over lipstick, so I don’t mind the sheerness.

I like a lot of pigmentation, too. I love Bobbi Brown lipsticks but will skip these.
