Question of the Week

Hello and happy Friday!
Can you believe Thanksgiving (in the US) is Thursday already? I am feeling really unprepared for this entire holiday season right now. I can’t even begin to think about Christmas shopping…
What is your favorite thing to eat or make for Thanksgiving?
For me it’s all about the appetizers. I could eat just them and be perfectly happy! I usually make garlic artichoke (hot) dip and Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms.
If we don’t chat before the holiday, I hope you have a fantastic one!

Pumpkin pie…its literally the ONLY time of the year I ever eat it

My favorite thing to eat for Thanksgiving is the PIE! We usually have apple, pumpkin, pecan, chocolate… yum yum! Since I am a vegetarian, I don’t eat turkey, and I am perfectly content eating just the sides and appetizers!
I LOVE cranberry sauce. I have to make sue with the whole berry canned stuff most of the year I make a batch a week this time of year. I am also a turkey sandwich freak, so I eat my turkey as a sandwich even on Thanksgiving. My Mom takes takes as an insult. It’s not–I just really LOVE a turkey sandwich. I also love stuffing, I eat stuffing sandwiches. Terrible right?
Not even! Turkey leftovers + leftover stuffing (If you’re lucky enough to have a family that doesn’t devour the stuffing like mine!) = one amazing sandwich. And it’s never as good as on the day after Thanksgiving. ^___^

I’m Canadian, so Thanksgiving for me was last month!
My favourites are mashed potatoes with homemade goat cheese, with turkey gravy and real, tart cranberry sauce. I like mine without any sugar or sweetening. I also love a good, spicy pumpkin pie. MMM-mmmm!
Squash Dressing! It’s my favorite food EVER but we only have it maybe twice a year. This year we’re making pumpkin spice swirl cheese cake so that might be my new favorite.
My favourite thing to eat during Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie and the stuffing, hehe, although not together, of course. I actually don’t go crazy over the taste of turkey. As long as I have the yummy stuffing and pie, I’m a happy camper!

I like the meal as a whole. The feast. The one special item we make are scalloped oysters. We always have the basics: Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce. Other sides change such as green bean cass, spinach salad, brussel sprouts. Sometimes have those during the week, because it is too much food for one day.
MY favorite thing to make and eat on Thanksgiving is the turkey or sweet potato casserole. Both are so good and a major part of our holiday.

I love just about everything at Thanksgiving! Turkey, mashed potatoes and Pumkin pie are the things I stuff myself with.
Mmmmm so hungry now
Pumpkin pie, fo sho. I’m not a big dessert person (I KNOW. THE SHAME.), but I love pumpkin pie. I tend to pile it with so much whipped cream that you can’t even see the pie anymore. XD

I’m pretty sure I could devour an entire green bean casserole myself
SO yummy
I have more than 1 thing. Since its only once a year; pumpkin pie and stuffing!

pecan pie! or sweet potatoes!
Pumpkin Pie. Love it and wish I could have it year-round. Well, I could but that would probably take away the ‘specialness’ of it.

There’s a lot of love about Thanksgiving. It kinda depends per year, who’s cooking and all. If my sister does the turkey, then I love it! She always brines it. I generally love the pecan pie my uncle makes, if he doesn’t burn it. I also absolutely love love love the roasted sweet potato side dish my step mother makes. I’m not even sure what to call it, really.
Throughout the year my family eats beef, chicken, & pork larb, so during Thanksgiving time we get to enjoy turkey larb! I also enjoy eating pumpkin pie! Mmm, I’m getting hungry now!

I agree with you. I’m super unprepared this year. I still feel like it’s October! But thank god I don’t cook Thanksgiving dinner haha. My mom makes bombtastic turkey! I love it when my mom makes macaroni with the leftover turkey. The macaroni soaks up the turkey stock. It’s soooo delicious! I eat it for DAYS.

Traditional stuffing with lots of sage and gravy. I could eat both all year round.
Well, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving the way you do over there in the States, but my sis in law used to celebrate it big time, when she and her husband lived over here. I must confess – I love everything about this holiday. Cooking together, eating amazing stuff the whole day long, being together with the family for a whole weekend…yeah, that IS amazing. For your question: There are two things I love – the turkey (especially leftover sandwiches
) and pumpkin pie. I adore pumpkin pie!
Sweet potatoes baked with marshmallow topping! <3
