Blog “Facelift” Poll
Hi!
I am considering a facelift of sorts to my site and wondered if there was anything you felt was missing or you would like to see added.

Welcome! My name is Kelly and Vampy Varnish is a animal friendly beauty blog.
Here you will find high quality photos and honest product reviews of all the latest and greatest collections. Oh and also a lot of cat photos.
I love the blog as is, but I think a change every now and then can be nice too! I know I’m tempted to change mine again. I think whatever you choose- to change it or not, will look fantastic!
More dupes pleaseee!
Hi Laura,
I’m talking site design not content. But thx!
It may be a lot of work (I’m not sure), but in your gallery of pictures, it’d be nice to have a link to the post in which that product is featured. So for instance, I could search for a red polish, find one that looks nice, then go straight to that post (if there is one) to see if the formula, application, coverage, etc is good.
Other than that, your site is quite easy to navigate, I think.
I personally love the format of your blog; it’s very easy to navigate. I also look forward every month to seeing what your header will be!
Perhaps a section for looks? Like when you do eye makeup looks, etc.
Chris´s last post…Best Powder Blushes for Tanned Skin
I would like to be able to read the entire post in blog reader. Often I access reader with my phone and having to click the link to read the remainder of the post; which is inconvenient, especially on a phone with minimal windows allowed. Quite often I choose not to read the remainder of the post.
I’m in the same boat! Would be nice to be able to see the one thing in the reader.
I’m missing a possibility to search for all posts of one brand, e.g. China Glaze, and a Search Funciton to find one special article (I saw the glossytown set from benefit at a local store and wanted to revisit your opinion, had to use google)
or is it just me being too stupid to find them??
Anyway, I love your site (had to say this in my first comment)
Hi Sophie,
You can search by brand and color right here under my Categories section!
http://www.vampyvarnish.com/categories/ Also there is a search feature on the very top right of the site.
I love your website layout, its clean and easy to read!! I wish more were like yours!
I love the layout, it’s so user-friendly. One thing that I would like to see: when you click on the ‘continue reading’ link that the page takes you to the spot you stopped reading at te beginning of the post. That way we don’t have to scroll to find it…I hope that makes sense!
But, other than that this is one of my favorite blogs and I love it
Hi Ashli,
Good point! Thanks I never even noticed that
I definitely suggest updating with a new header for your blog. One that shows how much better at everything you’ve gotten
and possibly more dark…it is called vampyvarnish after all. I was expecting a darker mood to the design when I stumbled across it.
Pryanka´s last post…Week Three – Inspired By A Tutorial
Hi Pryanka,
I change out the masthead monthly depending on the time of year, etc. It’s called Vampy Varnish because initially in 2008 & 2009 it was a blog dedicated solely to nail polish and vampy colors are my favorites. But now I review all cosmetics, so I have to keep that in mind as well. Thanks for the input!
I see I see, and yes, I have you bookmarked and relied on your reviews when picking out holiday gifts this year too
I know you don’t /need/ to use it but I love Photoshop and I’d be honored to design a masthead and work with you next time you change it up? I heart nail polish and Photoshop and I’d love to gift you something for all the help I’ve gotten out of your posts.
Pryanka´s last post…Week 6 – Winter 2.0
I would seriously love it if you made the posts so they could be read in my newsreader instead of having to go to your site each time. This would entail putting the entire post on your front page instead of having to click to read more. I often skip posts because I have so much stuff to get through on the reader that I don’t want to keep having to load external sites.
Hi Marcy,
That is a common request however after looking into it more yesterday I decided not to do it right now. Mainly because spam sites can easily take entire posts, words and photos and copy them. As you may know I have a lot of issues with people stealing my content (reporting an eBay seller right now) so I do not want to make it easier for them.
