Want to be Scared for Halloween? Visit my Backyard…

Creepy Spider 1 Want to be Scared for Halloween? Visit my Backyard...

Recently I was testing out my new camera on the super creepy garden spiders which are PROLIFIC in my backyard this time of year. I literally have to walk with a stick in front me me waving it through the air so I don’t run into any cobwebs. SO GROSS! Oh and this one above is now like TWICE this size!

  • Spider webs look so awesome, but not so awesome when you unknowingly walk into them! Ahh I HATE that feeling and then freak out even more because you think the spider is on you! Haha amazing photographs too!

  • Your camera takes wonderful up close pictures. Those pictures would be good to look at while doing a spider web nail art design.

  • I don’t like wasps. So I like spiders for they love to eat wasps. Great pictures.

  • Go spider! Although they are freaky and somewhat scary, I would rather have spiders eating the other nasties, than kill them. I love your close-ups!

3 days ago i was walking up to my porch carrying groceries and the porch light was off. my face met a web full frontal like and i cried out and dropped my groceries. joe ran outside and said “what happened?! it sounded like you stepped on a dog!” doh! the only thing that kept the nightmares away was seeing the spider still in the web, not in my hair.
    i love spider pix!

  • Ooooh I love spiders! That looks like a golden orb weaver…I think.

I got to the county science fair doing an exhibit w/ live spiders :D I’ve always wanted a tarantula…my daughter used to bring home the class tarantula in middle school. Harry LOL The only spiders I *don’t* like are the black widows that are fairly prolific here in FL. I don’t know how I’ve not been bitten yet.

Me, I’ll take spiders over mosquitos ANYDAY. Were it not for spiders, the amount of harmful insects would take over (think crops, not just annoying pests!). So YAY SPIDERS!

Though yeah, walking into webs not fun. I once ran into an orb weaver web that was 15 feet maybe? Spider as big as your hand…. It was like a horror movie and yes, I screamed and ran like a girl (which I was at the time).

  • I hate spiders! Everytime I go into my bedroom the first thing I do is check the ceiling corners for spiders. A few years ago there was one like every week.
And about 2 weeks ago I was sitting on my bed with my laptop and in the corner of my eye I saw something walking on the wall next to me. I thought it was a fly, but when I looked it was a spider. I drank my milk, put my cup over the spider and a paper behind it and I knew it was gonna go wrong because the paper was too big :P I opened my bedroom door and the spider escaped and walked over my hand. I threw everything on the floor :P

I felt like I had to share that xD

  • You know…my friend’s husband accidentally went biking through a rainforest in China (long story, it’s a bike company he works for)…and he told me how he and a co-worker rode through some really bad spider webs – super thick like silken cords. They stopped for a second to wipe that stuff off and my friend happened to look up. He said all he could see were spiders that were about the size of his head. They started to emit this super high pitched screeching noise and started bouncing on their webs. He and his friend said, “We’re getting the hell out of dodge!”

He found out later that those were bird eating spiders. Whatever you do, don’t youtube it. Seriously. Don’t. I had nightmares for a couple of days.

    • Ahhhh! Oh my gosh – that sounds SO GROSS! I’d freak out if I ever saw so many spiders and especially if there were that large! (Haha, I’m not going to YouTube it. I’ll take your word. No need for any spider nightmares. :P )
