Whilst perusing a local Rite Aid not too long ago, I spotted a new Revlon display packed with some super cool looking translucent tubes. Upon further inspection I saw they were a newfangled product called Colorburst Lip Butter. Call me what you will, but anything with the word “butter” in it usually piques my interest!
I stood there for probably a good 7 or 8 minutes picking colors up, putting others down, picking more up before I decided on the six colors I bought. There were at least 15 or 20 colors I believe. HARD to choose! Luckily for me they were on sale at the time.
As mentioned, they come in a nice translucent tube with a quilted pattern on them. The tops are clear so you can see the color you are getting. Bonus!
They look like a lipstick, but feel more like a lip balm. But they aren’t as sheer as one might expect from something called a lip butter. They do contain a lot of moisturizing ingredients such as jojoba seed oil, shea butter and mango butter.
Cupcake, Cotton Candy, Sweet Tart, Peach Parfait, Tutti Frutti, Cherry Tart
Cupcake, Cotton Candy, Sweet Tart
Cupcake is a pale blue-based pink.
Cotton Candy is a light shimmery pink.
Sweet Tart is a medium warm pink.
Peach Parfait, Tutti, Frutti, Cherry Tart
Peach Parfait is a somewhat sheer shimmery peachy nude.
Tutti Frutti is a medium bright coral.
Cherry Tart is a bright slightly shimmery warm red.
As you can see, most of these aren’t as sheer as you might think. In fact I got really great pigmentation out of all except Cotton Candy and Peach Parfait, but those were still obviously colored.
They feel pretty nice and easy going on. They do feel moisturizing and non-sticky, and they have a nice shine to them also. There is a very slight vanilla scent and no taste.
I really like the ones I tried out. I like that they aren’t so sheer that it feels like you are just putting clear gloss on. I also like that they are different enough in color that they don’t all look pretty much the same.
Availability: Rite Aid.
Pricing: $7.49 (I got them on sale for $4.49).
What do you think about these? Any colors you might try out?
