Revlon Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Nail Enamel Swatches & Review

Did you know that Revlon has three new glittery shades out in stores? I don’t know if there is a specific collection name or not since I cannot get them ro respond to me via email or Twitter (ahem) but here they are!
Starry Pink (pale ballerina pink), Blue Mosaic (blue glitter) and Facets of Fuchsia (purple & pink).
All three of these have both regular micro-glitter and larger hexagonal chunks of glitter. This means that the formula can be a pain because the larger chunks move around a lot if you don’t wait for them to “set” in-between coats. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. It can also be hard to get the larger chunks to wind up where you want them, but you can use a toothpick to place them if necessary.

Starry Pink
Starry Pink is a very pale pink with micro and larger hexagonal silver glitter. Interestingly this is the one I expected to like the least but in fact I liked the most. I really like this soft pale pink milky base. It looks really nice with my skin tone and the silver glitter just adds some more fun to it. This was three coats. You can still see my nails tips but it’s fairly minimal.

Blue Mosaic
Blue Mosaic is a very pale blue base (almost not even a color) with small blue glitter and larger silver and green hexagonal glitter. Hmm I’m not sold on this one. I wasn’t thrilled with how sheer the base was, which made it impossible to get complete nail coverage. There did seem to be more tiny glitter in this one than the other two though. This was three coats.

Facets of Fuchsia
Facets of Fuchsia is a blackened purple base with tiny fuchsia and larger hexagonal glitter. I am happy that the base on this one was dark and somewhat opaque, though I did need three coats. The glitter color is great also, I really liked it but somehow the overall look left me feeling “meh”. I dunno it’s kinda cool, kinda boring to me. Predictable? Who knows.
Availability: Target
Pricing: $4-5
What do we think about these three colors? Any appeal to you?

I have the pink one, which I love – but the purple/black one looks very close to Deborah Lippmann’s Bad Romance, which I already own..

Yes, Facets of Fuschia definitely looks like Bad Romance! It’s cool how Revlon is making make some ‘dupes’ of higher-end polishes.

This is the “Expressionists Collection”
My original plans were to buy this whole collection– I found it at Target a few weeks ago. At the store, I immediately ruled out Blue Mosaic– too green for me (and I love greens, but not when I’m expecting blues). I went home with Starry Pink and Facets of Fuchsia but after trying Starry Pink (which I hated.. It was the only glitter in the world that made my hands look dirty! How can glitter look dirty? Sheesh!) I’m only left with Facets of Fuchsia, which I’m keeping as a DL Bad Romance dupe since I’m on a spending freeze for the time being. So close, and yet.. 66% fail.
Starry Pink is really amazing…love it!
I put Blue Mosaic over one coat of Sally Hansen Marine Scene and it looked out of control amazing. Got so many compliments. Try that combo
I got all of these BUT the starry pink. Not so cute on a tan girl :-/ I wish I could remember the collection’s name, I too got mine at Target; but I saw the display recently at Bed Bath & Beyond… There are some BEAUTIFUL eye shadows in the collection as well.
I bought Facets of Fuchsia last week because I wasn’t sure on Starry Pink, but now I think I’m going to go back and get it. Also, with Michelle K’s comment I think I’ll go ahead and get Blue Mosaic as well.
I am wearing Facets of Fushia right now, totally in love with it! I passed on the other polishes, but I picked up the corresponding eyeshadows, which are gorgeous and glittery especially the black one.
So happy to see all three of the glitters reviewed! They are Revlon part of the Expressionists Collection for Fall 2011, collaborated with Gucci Westman.
I bought the Facets of Fuchsia a few weeks ago after seeing swatches and near-dupness for the DL Bad Romance – score!! I’ve crossed the line with splurging on butter londons and can’t let myself break into the DL/H polishes so a near dup makes me a happy girl.
I was debating on Starry Pink and was in Bed Bath and Beyond last night and found it and decided I must have it. I’m totally digging the hex-glitter. I think I’m skipping Blue Mosiac but that could certainly change….
My last several Revlon purchases have been on point and I’m loving it!!
Can you please do a comparison of Deborah Lippman’s Bad Romance and Facets of Fuchsia? I’ve heard a lot of people saying they are dupes. =)

I picked up Blue Mosaic and Facets of Fuchsia awhile ago but had forgotten about them until my sister, niece and I were having a polish swap-a-thon. I swapped my sister Facets of Fuchsia for Orly’s Fowl Play, they are verrrry similar aside from the glitter shape. And since I far prefer flakies to hex, I’m happy. I also agree with previous posts that Blue Mosaic begs to be layered.
Not really feeling any of the polishes, they feel a little uninspiring to me.

I have Facets already and currently have the other two winging their way to me form the USA, can’t wait to swatch them, don’t know why they didn’t release those 2 in the UK either.

I didn’t care much for Starry Pink. The other two look great layered.

It’s pretty cool that Revlon is trying to dupe HE polishes. But I do wish Carbonite were closer Chanel Graphite than it is now. I’ll be keeping an eye out for Facets of Fuchsia.

These 3 colors are a part of the core line. (They have numbers on the top, unlike colors that are limited edition.) I also had read they are core from someone else but I am unable to find that post.
I loved Facets of Fuchsia and Blue Mosaic. Blue Mosaic really shines when you put it over a similar colored blue polish.
Esmeralda´s last post…I had given up on finding this polish. This is 3 coats of…
At first I was like, “Revlon glitter polishes, OMG, woo!” But then, I realized that Starry Pink is not up my alley; I have DL Across the Universe, so will skip Blue Mosaic; and I passed on Bad Romance, so I will also pass on Facets of Fuschia. However, I am going to Target today, so I feel I will still go look at these in person, lol.
Aw, all three of these are *almost* great! The pink needs a few drops of a dusty pastel orchid or dirty rose to opaquen it up a little, the blue just needs a shot of dark teal for same purpose, and the purple needs a BIG shot of a contrasting color — bronze? pale pink? — microglitter to give it some depth and dimension. Aaaaaand, now I have to buy these so I can remix them RIGHT.
I want the pale pink!

Thank you for the swatches. I’ve liked the look of Facets of Fuchsia in the bottle and have been eyeing it for a while. Shame though that glitter is such a b*tch to get off.

Love your swatches:) I think I need starry pink! Thank you again for the great photography. Yours is the best!
I picked up Facets of Fushia since I saw a couple of blog posts about the Bad Romance dupe. I still haven’t worn it but it is in the line up to wear soon! I really like the way it looks on your nails and I feel meh about the other two. Idk but I thought them predictable in person in the bottle.
I have Facets of Fuchsia, which I haven’t worn yet, but I’m happy with the fact that it’s a very cheap dupe for Bad Romance. I’ll probably splurge on it in the future, but for now I’m satisfied with the Revlon. Starry Pink is next on my list, but I’ll be passing on Blue Mosaic. It doesn’t excite me like the other two.
Facets of fuchsia is pretty!

I love Facets of Fuchsia but it’s a PITA to take off ! I might buy the blue one too, but from your photos it looks like it needs to be applied on a colour base, I don’t like sheer glittery varnish…
I feel kind of guilty buying Facets of Fuchsia because it’s so obviously a copy of Bad Romance… is that weird? lol

mm, i passed on all of those except for facets of fuchsia, and i’m glad i stuck with that choice. starry pink looks great on you! but it would probably clash with my skintone, and i wanted blue mosaic soo bad, but the green in there was extremely irking.. so i couldn’t take it home with me. i’m loving revlon polishes!

I put Facets of Fuchsia over purple ‘underwear’ (I don’t remember exactly what polish I used… this was a couple weeks ago
) and I LOOOOOOVED it. I got lots of compliments from my coworkers, too. I still haven’t tried Starry Pink, but I’ll probably layer it over pink underwear. I’m thinking Butter London Teddy Girl. I didn’t bother with Blue Mosaic, it really doesn’t speak to me for some reason. Anyway, I recommend layering FoF if you’re unhappy with the way it looks alone.
It was Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier, just FYI
I had to go back and check, it was bothering me that I didn’t remember!
I picked these up about a week ago and I wore Blue Mosaic over Wet n Wild “Teal of Fortune” it looks so pretty! I’ve gotten loads of compliments! Most are surprised its a Revlon polish! I’m still trying to figure out how to wear Starry Pink, i just cant seem to make it work for me, I think I’m too tan
I just can never own too many purple polishes, so if I find a webshop somewhere that has them, Facets of Fuchsia is definitely going to be mine. Why oh why don’t I live in the US? *sob*
i just ordered mine from evil-bay
I like them all, especially Facets of Fuchsia,I might have to pay a visit to Target soon.
I didn’t realize Blue Mosiac was that sheer. I’ll have to skip that one. I do like the other two.
