OCC Pretty Boy Nail Lacquer Fall 2011 Collection Swatches & Review
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pretty Boy Nail Lacquer Collection for fall actually kind of looks like spring or summer colors in my eyes. But that’s not a bad thing at all!
Looking at them in the bottle I was a little mystified as to why these would be fall collection, but I like that they don’t always go the “normal” route. Keeps things interesting.
In the bottle I was less than excited about most of these, to be honest. They looked a little boring to me. But once I swatched them I really, truly liked almost all of them. 
The formula was really great with every one of these. Perfect, opaque and smooth application. All were just two coats.
Femme
Femme is a light pink frosty shimmer. This color and finish scream “1984 Florida” to me. I think it’s because of the pink tone and definitely because of the silver frost finish. Kinda pretty but definitely not “me”. This was the only one I didn’t wind up liking, but it had a great formula.
Pool Boy
Pool Boy is a medium sky blue creme. Gorgeous! Utterly gorgeous on my hands, I couldn’t stop staring at them. Super flattering.
Palare
Palare is a fuchsia color with heavy purple and blue duochrome shimmer. I’m a SUCKER for this color, but it’s not all that unique. In fact as I type this I am wearing China Glaze Reggae To Riches which is extremely similar. No matter! I love it anyways.
Extravaganza
Extravaganza is a gorgeous pinky/coral color with gold and green duochrome shimmer. Insane. Have you ever seen another color like this one? I don’t think I have. The base color itself is really flattering on me, but add the duochrome shimmer (which shows mostly as gold but you can see green in certain flashes) and you have something really special. Love it.
Pansy
Pansy is a medium lavender/pink creme. This looks kind of boring and blah in the bottle but wow on my hands! Super shiny and just really a pretty color.
Cruising
Cruising is a pale gold foil. This is the only one that actually interested me in the bottle at first, and I love it on the nails also. Super gold, super shimmery, super foil-esque. The gold is both light and brassy so you get two types of gold coor in this polish. Delish.
Overall:
Great collection and not at all what I expected! The formula was really nice with all of them and the colors were great on my hands. My favs are Cruising, Extravaganza, Pansy, Pool Boy and Palare. Ok all of them except Femme really.

Pool Boy and Extravaganza are the more interesting to me. And, yeah, this totally doesn’t look like a fall collection, but that’s okay.
I tend to wear whatever colour I feel like no matter what time of year it is, so I congratulate them for thinking outside the box.

I love Femme, Pool Boy (LOVE the MadTV pool boy skit — Dance, pool boy!), Extravaganza and Cruising the best. Pool Boy is mesmerizing!
Pretty, but I would wear these in the summer, except the gold. I just can’t look at a neon or bright on my fingers in the winter.

I kind of wish I’d gotten Pansy, but I feel like I have colors similar to it, Cruising, and Palare.
Your description of Femme made me laugh. I am so not a light pink/bubblegum polish person…it drives me bonkers to see it on my nails!
Extravaganza is gorgeous…I’m so sad now. I wish they had these released for Labor Day.

Yay! MadTV!!! SOOOOOOOOooo much better than SNL of the same period- I STILL miss it super-bigtime!!!
That said, the first polish- Femme- looks like something Dixie Wexworth would wear poolside! A bit too “mumsy” for me.
Extravaganza is really unique- I really can’t say I’ve ever seen another polish that color.
Kudos to OCC for not doing the typical “fall” colors. A breath of fresh air.
My favorite (actually the only one I even liked) are Extravaganza and Femme
Extravaganza is definitely unique. I’m not really a coral polish fan, but this one has me intrigued for sure.

I miss MadTV, it was such a good show. So damn funny! I don’t own any OCC polishes. Pansy is such a pretty shade. Cruising is so sparkly, wow! This really look like a Spring collection.
