My Illamasqua Nail Varnish Collection
Illamasqua is one of my favorite nail polish brands for a few reasons.
Their formula is almost always fantastic. I love the colors they come out with. I love the bottle shape. I love the logo. I love the whole idea behind the brand. I love that they are now sold at Sephora. I love that the square caps come off for easy application. I love that they are British! I love their PR; they know how to work with bloggers and are really nice!
So with that said, I thought I would do a post showing every single Illamasqua varnish I own. Actually these photos were taken before I received the latest three from the Fall 2011 collection so there are three missing from the photos, but I included them in the swatches below.
I have swatches of every one of them except DWS, which I bought but never took photos of for some reason.
My favorite Illamasqua colors are Snap, Radium, Baptiste, Taint, Milf, Hectic, Faux Pas, Viridian, Phallic, Scarab, Poke, Bacterium, Throb and Obsess.

I got my first order of Illamasqua polishes only two weeks ago and only wore Kink. But I also got Scarab, Viridian, Eclipse and Faux-Pas because I liked those best. Does Rampage have a rubber finish like Kink? They look a bit similar.

Rampage is a jelly finish.

Rampage is a jelly finish and is absolutely my FAVORITE polish of all time from them. I actually keep forgetting to reorder it as I’m, um, out. Ha ha ha!
There are two things to note about Rampage:
1. It does take 3 coats for opacity and to eliminate that typical jelly streakiness.
2. It dries a little dull. If you like that kind of look, you can rock that. I think Rampage shines her best with a shiny topcoat like Poshe.
Rampage is like looking into a deep temperate forest at the height of summer , to give you an idea, in terms of color. It’s gorgeous!
You have an ARMY of those polishes! Hehe, I love the photo at the end where they’re all in a circle. Looks like some sort of secret circle.
I like a lot of the colours you have, but probably Viridian is my favourite.

, I don’t have quite as many as you, but I have a few: Baptiste, Viridian, Scarab, Jo’Mina, Muse, Hectic and Prism.

Whoaaa, I am jealous! Illamasqua makes some amazing colors. I only have Rampage, but I wish I had more! I do wish they hadn’t changed the bottles though….the old ones are so much prettier…

Not sure what you mean the bottles have looked the same since the beginning except for the labels on them…
I don’t remember where, but I do remember reading someone’s blog post on the bottle changing. Something about sharper edges before or something like that.. Is that what you’re think of, Naz?

Hmm the only difference I see is really minor. The edges are very slightly rounded on the older ones and the newer are rectangle. Hard to even notice though.
Yep! The edges used to be sharper. Now they’re more rounded. It’s subtle, and I know I’m being super nitpicky about it, but that sort of stuff does catch my attention.

I always really really liked Scarab and Bacterium, but I never got. I think this is going to change. Also, how does Baptiste compare to Purple Rain from NARS? I really want that polish most lol
I love Radium! Stagnate is really pretty, too. I don’t own any Illamasqua, but I might need to go to Sephora and remedy that.

I recently got Faux Pas, I was a teeny bit disappointed as I thought it was actually going feel rubbery like the bottle tops, it’s more semi matte. Love the colour though.

If I was forced to choose… Gamma (for it’s amazingly intense brightness), Boo (purple glitter! and painful lemming!), Rampage (sexiest vampy green jelly ever), Caress (I am so weak for that kind of shade!), Nudge (for it being a bright pastel), Muse, Force, and omg all of them. They are all amazing!

So hard to pick favourites. I LOVE them all. But there are a few that I regularly go back to. Among them are Muse, Phallic, Viridian, Scarab, Nudge, Lament and possibly Ruthless. I never got round to getting the Summer 2011 colours but they are still on my list of things to get. Maybe I’ll make my family get me some for Christmas along with a couple from the new collection! hehe
I’ve got Scarab on right now…but might change to Viridian tomorrow after a week’s wear.
Hehe, I love the last picture! My favourite Illamasqua … hm, I think it’s a tie between Rampage and Hectic. Rampage will always have a special place in my stash since it was one of my biggest lemmings of all time, being a forest green that is green in every light. And Hectic is just freaking awesome.
The only Illamasqua product I’ve tried is powdered metal which I received in a glossybox. But I love that they’re British and I love what they are inspired by and the quirkiness of the brand. The gold colour is truely beautiful and I’d be so interested to try the rubber type polishes from their Theater of the Nameless collection xx

I rarely wear red, but Scarab is GORGEOUS. Phallic is beautiful too, but I think Scarab needs to be my first Illamasqua.
