Deborah Lippmann Holiday 2011 Collection Swatches, Photos & Review
Deborah Lippmann has some new colors for holiday 2011 and I’ve got a couple of them for ya!
Glamorous Life and Good Girl Gone Bad, which are on sale now on Neiman Marcus, are the two I picked up because who can resist a rose gold and a sparkly plum? Not me!
Glamorous Life is a color that Deborah worked on for 3 years. She said she was obsessed with a rose gold Rolex watch and wanted to create the same color in a nail color. This is a rose gold with a metallic finish. Now I LOVE rose gold, but unfortunately this one has some issues with streaking. It’s kind of a heavy frosty metallic so brush strokes are hard to get rid of. I used thin even coats and worked slowly but still you see some streaking. It did cover completely in two coats, and possibly you could get away with one.
Good Girl Gone Bad (no top coat)
Good Girl Gone Bad is an AMAZING “bold cabernet glimmer” (according to Lippmann’s site) but I call it a red/plum shimmer. It’s freaking gorgeous and JUST the type of nail lacquer that makes me swoon. The base color is really pretty but the pink/purple shimmer in it is sooo sparkly and glowy! It does dry to a kind of matte or dull looking finish but add a top coat and it’s just beautiful. I truly love this and know I am going to wear it a lot! This may be my most favorite color by her ever.
