Zoya’s Smoke & Mirrors collection for fall 2011 features six metallic/shimmery colors and six cremes.
The creme collection is called Smoke and has a very definite fall feel to it.
- Jana – Smoky mauve quartz creme
- Petra – Smoky eggplant mauve creme
- Codie – Smoky brown taupe creme
- Anja – Smoky palatinate purple creme
- Cynthia – Smoky Prussian blue creme
- Dree – Smoky camouflage green creme
The formula with this collection was really nice, but a few did require three coats, as opposed to the Mirrors collection which were all two coats.
Jana is a light taupe-y/muave creme color. This looked a lot more sheer in the bottle than it wound up being, which is good. It’s a good solid kind of off-beat color. This was two coats.
Petra is a dark purple/grey/mauve creme. This is an interesting one because in the bottle it looks more mauve than it looks on my nails. I love this one because it’s such a hybrid of colors and really interesting looking. And before you ask, no, it’s not a dupe for Kelly. This was two coats.
Dree is a great muted olive green (army green) color. I love it. I love this kind of green. Yum. This was two coats.
Cynthia is described as a “Prussian blue” which I love. It’s very dark, deep and sultry. But wait, it’s not completely a creme because I see tiny shimmery bits in there! This is a pretty blackened blue, so expect that it will pretty much look black in low lighting. This was two coats.
Codie is a very, very dark chocolate brown color. So incredibly dark it almost looks black, but not quite. This one took three coats to fully, evenly cover my nails.
Anja is a dark reddish/purple color. This one won’t look black indoors, it’s definitely a “color”. It did take three coats to get it completely even though.
This is another really nice collection and great for those who prefer creme finishes. For me the stand-out colors here are Dree, Petra and Cynthia. I feel like Jana, Codie and Anja aren’t quite as interesting.
Pricing: $8.00 each
