VV Top Favorite Nail Polishes by Color – A Recap

It occurred to me yesterday while reading some of the comments from this post that a lot of you are newer readers. As newer readers, you may have missed a long-running series I did of my top 5 (or 10 as the case may be) nail polishes, by color.
If ever you are in the market for checking out older posts, you can always visit my Categories page and search under Miscellaneous. I have done a few different kinds of posts over the last almost 3 years of blogging, some of which you might find useful or interesting.
So without further adieu, here are links to all my “Top 5″ posts. I think I did all colors except white, black and metals other than gold & silver:

Welcome! My name is Kelly and Vampy Varnish is a animal friendly beauty blog.

You know, it’s more than a year I’ve been asking myself: “Why VV doesn’t make a Top 5 Whites post?”
Hi JenMei,
You know, I always meant to do it and black but somehow it fell through the cracks. Maybe I will still!
Well I keep on waiting!
I’d also be interested in seeing your Top 5 Whites list because I’m curious about which white polish is the most opaque. I have OPI Alpine Snow, which is streaky, but the most opaque one I own. Would love to discover a more-opaque white that’s less streaky.
You just reminded me that I have an untried bottle of Alpine Snow.
Have you ever tried Alpine Snow Matte? It’s a chalky streaky mess!!
Nope, I haven’t tried the matte version – just the regular.
That was fun to look at! Thank you for putting it all together.
I’d be interested in whites too, mostly because I want a trouble free one to use as ‘undypants’ for some of the water marbles and other art I do. I never waste my precious Frosty for such purposes.
How come You don’t have any cremes in your red top five list?
Hi Lissette,
Because none of my top favorite reds are cremes.
I wonder if you could do a top five overall? Or would that be too hard to work down to just five? Maybe a top 10?
I don’t know I you’ve eve done it, but I’d love some kind of recap by brand: their stregths, weaknesses and personal faves? I think it could be real helpful when trying to swim the sea of new-to-you brands!
Hi VV,
Please do a black one! I am a black nail polish buff, and I always want to know which are the best ones in terms of qulaity. Whites are also another concern of mine.
Thanks
K
I always love seeing “favorites” posts, even if I saw these before I’m going to look again!
i really want to go buy some nail polish now. purple rain in particular.
Thanks for this post! It’s a great way to get some good polish ideas for a (relative) newbie like me.
You should do a Turquoise top five, since you do Blurple and Olive Green.
Turquoise seems totally different than blue!
I see something else besides black and white that’s missing…
In all the greens you did (2 categories, even!) there are no light ones. I see no mint greens or lime greens. It seemed strange especially since mint exploded all over the nail blogging world the past couple of years. (that imagery? lol)
I’d also like to see updates, since most of your categories go back years and years, by now you must have other faves that booted a few out of the top 5/10.
And while I’m at it, I’d love to see your top “finishes” posts, I’d especially look forward to duochromes and holos.
I must think I’m queen for a day making all these demands, eh?
Hi Donna,
Actually they aren’t on my fav green posts because none of my fav greens are mint or lime ones. However I did do a separate post with a ton of mint greens here: http://www.vampyvarnish.com/2010/05/mint-green-nail-polish-comparisions/
No mint or lime favorites??? *shocked and horrified* lol
