Sinful Colors Adventure Island Swatches, Photos & Review

Sinful Colors Adventure Island Sinful Colors Adventure Island Swatches, Photos & Review

Sinful Colors is a brand I am not all that familiar with. I don’t feel I have a ton of their polish, but when I saw some of the colors in their Adventure Island collection, I couldn’t pass them up!

Now I have heard some of these are similar to the OPI Pirates collection. But since I don’t have that one, there won’t be any comparisons here, sorry!

If they are in fact similar, I am grateful because I REALLY like these. icon smile Sinful Colors Adventure Island Swatches, Photos & Review

The three colors I got that stood out the most to me (and coincidentally look fabulous together) are: Adventure Island, Seaweed and Open Seas.

The formula was pretty good with all of these, especially considering how inexpensive they are. They all were thick but not sticky or hard to work with, and all covered in two coats.

Adventure Island

Adventure Island is a really unique (or maybe not, haha) color. It’s a sort of muted yellow/green creme. It leans more towards an avocado green, but with a lot of yellow. Like one of those refrigerators from the 1960′s. But in a GOOD way! I love this unusual color and have nothing like it. The closest comparison I can come up with would be OPI Fiercely Fiona, but that is really not like this at all. Love it!

Seaweed

Seaweed is a muted green/grey color. It reminds me a little of greened out concrete. Hard to describe. It’s another one that reminds me of a 1960′s appliance. icon smile Sinful Colors Adventure Island Swatches, Photos & Review I really like this one also and don’t have anything like it.

Open Seas

Open Seas is a subtle green teal color. This isn’t a mint green, it has more grey and mellowness to it. Very pretty color, love it.

Availability: I found these at Rite Aid.

Pricing: $1.99 each.

What looks good? Do you like the “weirder” colors like Adventure Island and Seaweed?

  • What awesome colors for a low price!

Yes, I definitely love the ‘weirder’ hues, especially ones like Seaweed.

I have those colors. I love Sinful Colors Polishes. You can get them at Walgreens, Target, and Some Bed Bath and Beyond!!

  • You know, I picked up and put down Seaweed three times before I finally bought it. Wore it for the first time yesterday and I love it. I also got Verbena, passed on Open Seas because I have one or two other similar colors, and was afraid I couldnt pull off Adventure Island because my skin tone doesn’t play nice with yellow.

SC makes up a big chunk of my collection–I have about 23 of them. I’ve only ever had one fail, and found out later it was a matte neon and the formula was SUPPOSED to be like that. With a good BC/TC sandwich I’ve gotten better than a week out of them too with only minor tipwear. So much happy for two bucks a bottle.

  • I have both collections. Open Seas is pretty much identical to Mermaid Tears, but with better application. Seaweed is a slightly dark version on Stranger Tides. Adventure island is unique to Sinful Colors. I don’t have a color like it. It makes Fiercely Fiona looks clean. And the pink from this collection I don’t have, but it seems pretty close to Sparrow Me the Drama.

    • Oh, good to know! I didn’t get Mermaid Tears yet but want to. Now I think I’ll just pick up the Sinful version.

These look great! I only have on Sinful Colors polish, but it’s one of my favorites: Mint Apple. I highly recommend that you check it out! It wears really well for such a cheap polish.

I love these colors and for the price you can’t beat it but I’m having difficulty finding this display for these!

I actually really love these colors…I keep going to all the Walgreens in my area to see if they have them. No luck yet.

  • Just wanted to let everyone know they’re also available at Target!! :) I love SC, they make the best cheapie nail polish I’ve used, hands down. Color Club is pretty close.

I love all three! I even want Adventure Island, and I’m not normally drawn to yellowy shades. Warmer shades just do not work for me. But I would make an exception for Adventure Island! And the other two are exactly the kinds of muted colors that I love.

  • Eary ’70′s Tupperware!!! I love it! I’m still hunting for this collection. It has quite a few I want and these certainly are on the list. They look great on you.

I like Adventure Island and I never like yellow polishes! This one leans to having some gold to it along with that dirty quality of the POTC by OPI collection that this one is likened to (which don’t feel bad – I also never bought any of the POTC at all. None looked good on me or pushed me to grab even one and bring it home with me. The other here have too much white/chalky undertone hue for me to pull them off and like them. Thanks for the info Sara that some Target’s carry this line. I looked at my Rite Aide – nope – and also 2 different Wal-Marts -nope. So next time I need to make the major drive to Target land, i will plan a need to stop & shop there for water filters or something I NEED so I can take a look at their polishes. Right now seems all the drug stores and other cheap stores have major picked over polish selections. Gets that way in-between the seasons. Wonder when the fall Essies will come out – I had not heard a date yet. FYI – Zoya that was not to be released until July 15th is able to be ordered NOW at Zoya.com gang. I am using up a spoon credit and picking up about 5 from the Smoke & Mirrors Zoya Fall 2011 collection. Then will have their spoons in that box for S & M and know for sure if I “need’ a couple other shades from these fab 2 collections. Zoya really hit it out of the park again this fall with their collections IMHO.

  • Ooooh, love seaweed! I’ll have to check my drugstores to see if they have these.

I’ve been looking for these for two weeks at Walgreen’s in my area….no luck yet, but these three I’m definitely going to pick up! Nice swatches.

I also heard about a lot of the colors from this collection being dupes to the OPI Pirates collection. I’ve seen comparison swatches and I don’t think they’re dead on dupes but they are pretty darn close. I already have Mermaid’s Tears so I don’t think I really need Open Seas. They’re very pretty though!

  • Dammit. Sinful do retail in the UK but only ancient, ancient shades that have been on the market since forever.

I would love to get Seaweed and AI.

I bought Adventure Island last week at Rite Aide, I don’t have any other sinfull color polishes, but I was SOOOO pleased with the quality of it. And the color is one of my new favorites!!!!!!!!

riteaid always has such an awesome selection of cheap polishes! i was looking at open seas the last time i was there but decided against it…definitely would have snatched up seaweed, though, if they had it!

  • Wow, they are gorgeous!!

  • Offers bright on trend shades, high gloss, fast dry nail polish. This is my perfect polish it does what it advertises, you need two coats to get the best colour results, on the disadvantage (if your feeling lazy and not doing a base coat) certain colours stain your nail although it does warn this!

They are the cheapest and cheer fullest out of my three at £1.79 for a 8ml bottle, available at Boots and Superdrug, other online stores offer different deals and offers its worth a look.
