The Lipstick League Weekend Posts

Question of the week: What’s a beauty trend that you wish would go away?

My answer: I’m already tired of the feather hair extensions that seem to be everywhere!

Beauty Junkies Unite – Amber shares the entire Dolce & Gabbana Italian Summertime makeup collection, is there anything here you find swoon-worthy?

Clumps of Mascara – can’t take her hands off of Milani’s limited edition Paint palette.

EauMG – reviews a spicy, garden fresh fragrance by L’Artisan Parfumeur.

Lipglossiping – puts the stamp of approval on FIVE of the hottest pink lipsticks for Summer!

Nouveau Cheap – shows you all six palettes in the Wet n Wild limited edition Dream Weavers collection. Is it cheesy to say these shadows are “out of this world”?

Orange to LA – discovers another highlighter to add to her collection. This time it’s Chanel Pearl Glow Powder (Poudre Lumiere Perlee), from the new Chanel Le Blanc Collection. She loves it, will you?

Pink Sith – Joeybunny shows you how beautiful the NYX Nude On Nude Palette can be, and why she loves it so!

Phyrra – extols the virtues of Holika Holika Essential Petit BB Cream SPF 30 PA++. See what caused her to fall in love with it!

Vampy Varnish – Thinks the new MAC Colourizations Eyeshadow Pro Palette x2 are pretty cool!

we heart this – Damn it feels good to be a beauty blogger! Especially after seeing MAC’s Bloggers’ Obsessions

Ughhhh, Feather Locks. My stylist put them in her assistant about a year ago but now they’re EVERYWHERE. When hair trends trickle down to Fantastic Sam’s and Jr High girls that’s when it’s time to quit. I’m with you on this one!

      Hi Jess,

      Agreed!

I totally agree about the feathers! They look cool, but much like when a song becomes popular, they are overplayed!! I read an article about how fishermen are angry that women are taking all of these feathers (I think they are rooster?) that are usually used as fishing lore! hhahhahha We need to figure out what the next “thing” will be and cash in on it!

      Hi Maribeth,

      I read about that, haha!

Hahaha, that’s really funny about the fisherman getting upset! I bet it’s rare that the beauty world and the fishing world intersect.

Haha, I actually like feather hair extensions! Then again where I live feathers are just starting to pop up.

With ya all on the feathers. But also want to see the nail shatters/crackles/fractures et all go away! They have been done to death.

FEATHER hair extensions? Whaaaa? Oh dear, I fear this is yet to come to my little corner of Earth.

      Hi Ulmiel,

Yes they have been big here for about a year or two now.

I love the feather trend. I wish I was hip to it in the beginning, though I’m usually not influenced by what’s trendy. I think it really depends on how one pulls off a look. I do think that even if it’s two years after the fact, it can still be done well. For the most part, while the trend is in full swing, I usually think that 80% of the followers look ridiculous because it just doesn’t suit them. This look totally suits my gitana ways.

I’m not the feather extention kind of girl, but I have nothing against this new trend. I like a lot feather earrings instead!!
