theBalm ShadyLady Eyeshadow in All About Alex and Jealous Jordana Swatches, Photos & Review

TheBalm Shady Lady Eyeshadow

theBalm is a brand I am just now becoming a little familiar with. I have tried the TimeBalm concealer, but I believe that is the only product I have used by them before. WHY?

I decided recently that this needed to be remedied so I bought a couple things. The ShadyLady Eyeshadows were a good starting point since they seem like such rich, opaque and soft shadows.

They currently come in eleven different shades, but the green ones All About Alex and Jealous Jordana were the ones that immediately caught my eye.

These are formulated with finely milled pigments and then pressed into a powder. They are made without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes or phthalates.

The packaging is super cute too. They come in heavy-duty cardboard flip-open containers with a mirror inside.

All About Alex is a shimmery olive/khaki green. It’s really soft, pigmented and super gorgeous.
Jealous Jordana is a deep evergreen with lighter green shimmer. Again, super pigmented and extremely pretty

Together I think these make a great combo, as well as on their own.

The shadows feel super soft, but not with a lot of fallout, which is good.

Availability: Sephora or theBalm’s site

Pricing: $16.00 each

Have you tried anything from theBalm? If so what was it?

I’ve never tried this brand, but the colors and pigmentation look fabulous!

I really want to try some of the palettes from theBalm as I have heard nothing buy rave reviews about them. I rarely buy single eyeshadows as palettes are a much better bang for your buck.

I LOVE theBalm eye shadows. I got their Vol. 3 pallet and use it all the time, and I have 2 stand alone colors. The texture and pigmentation is so consistent among all of the colors, it’s my favorite brand for eyeshadow. I also have their Mary Lou-Manizer highlighter and it is fantastic. And best of all, everything is reasonably priced and comes with a ton of product. I need to check out more of their product line but I definitely love what I’ve used so far.

I have Jealous Jordana and a couple other ones, too, although I can’t remember their names. Anyway, I really love the shadows–great pigmentation, like you said, and the color selection is nice. If you haven’t tried Mary-Lou Manizer or the blushes, you MUST! Down Boy and Hot Mama are amazing! I really want to try Frat Boy too…

I have a couple of palettes and agree that the quality of their e/s is excellent! The two shades you have are so lovely!

theBalm is one of my favorite makeup brands. I have the Volume 1 pallet, and I use all of the colors in it – as a woman of color, I don’t say this of all of the palettes I own. The texture is finely milled, so soft, and I love the fact that there’s just enough shimmer, not too much. I also use Hot Mama, and their lipsticks. Very flattering. Can’t say enough good things about them.

I have the Shady Lady Shadow Palette Volume 1. The colors are intense and beautiful; I love and frequently the shadows in Volume 1 (I don’t think there’s one bad shadow among the 9 shades). The only thing you need in addition to that palette is a non-shimmery base/highlighting color. I looked at the subsequent volumes but, personally like Volume 1 much more than the other two. While it’s not a reason to buy their stuff, I do find it cute that their dogs are on the Company Info page (below the company staff).

I am waiting for an order from brandalley’s recent half price theBalm sale. I bought Jealous Jordana, as well as their tinted moisturizer, two blushers and the dark blue eyeshadow of which I forgot the name. I cannot wait for these to come but brandalley takes forever! Nice to know they’re good things :) xx

You will LOVE their blushes! Buildable, versatile (they can be used on eyes, too), and very flattering- I think they are the best blushes on the market. (aside from the new Tarte Amazonian Clay ones)
I have Down Boy, which makes you look like 10,000 angels have been slapping your cheeks; Cabana Boy, which is bold and ready for fun, but not garish (and would be great on women of color!); Hot Mama, which makes you look awake and healthy (similar yet SSSSOOOOO much better than Nars Orgasm -it doesn’t turn bright orange & isn’t too sparkly); and the original Mary-Lou Manizer, which gives you this unbelievable radiant glow.
Have fun playing with your new colors!!! I have to check out brandalley- I never see TheBalm’s stuff on sale anywhere, and as you can tell, I’m a bit rabid about it- thanks for the tip!

I adore the balm eye shadows. Do you have any of the Shady Lady palettes Kelly? :) I have vol. 2 and vol. 3 and love them! I wish I had vol. 1 too. In a sale I also got 5 or 6 single eye shadows and they are so smooth. <3
