Sephora Reflex Dazzling Violet Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Swatches, Photos & Review

Did you know that Sephora has a line of lip glosses called Ultra Shine Lip Gloss and the color range includes 27 colors? I sure didn’t until recently!
I kind of always overlook the Sephora brand makeup for some reason, heading more towards the names I am very familiar with. However, when I saw the huge display of all these lip glosses, I could not pass up looking.
The Ultra Shine Lip Glosses are super shiny, moisturizing glosses that have “multi-holographic” shimmer in them. Say the word holographic and I am pretty much there.
They also come in three different types of shine:
- Reflex: ultra-opalescent effect for a jewel-like finish
- Shimmering: opalescent effect for an elegant luster
- Shiny: opalescent-free, for a wet-looking effect
The color that STOOD OUT in a big way for me is called Reflex Dazzling Violet. Since I was trying this for the first time, this is the only one I snagged.

The glosses come in a pretty good sized tube and I like that they are see-through so you can really see what color you are buying.
The applicator is a little strange. I think this hourglass shape is the “new thing” because I have seen it on three different lip products lately! It’s like a paddle, flat but rounded at the tip. Not bad, just different.

Reflex Dazzling Violet is a gorgeous violet shade that contains micro shimmery bits that reflect purple, blue and pink.
The gloss itself isn’t super opaque, it is definitely on the sheer side, BUT it feels amazing!
Let me tell you about how smooth this gloss is. IT’S SMOOTH. The stuff glides on like butter, it feel much more like a super creamy lip balm than lip gloss.
There is NO stickiness whatsoever and no scent. It’s incredibly moisturizing and very shiny. Seriously, it just might be the best feeling lip gloss I have ever used.

As you can see, it is a bit sheer, but you get such a nice glittery look. I think it would look totally amazing over a purple or pink lipstick.
Overall:
I’m really amazed at how great this feels on my lips. I LOVE that there is no sticky feeling and no scent. I am definitely interested in getting a few more of these now!
Availability: Sephora
Pricing: $14.00
Have you tried these yet? Which is your fav?

I have this color! It’s my favorite lip gloss by far
i love how sparkly it is without being tacky or childish looking. definitely great for layering as well!
I love this gloss so much! I picked it up a couple months ago at Sephora and have almost run out!
I didn’t realize Sephora made these either. I’m over sticky gloss and will give these a try. Thanks for the heads up!
love it
When I saw the color of the tube it scared me a bit! it’s so…. purple! It looks great on you though! I looovee the purple sparkles.. so pretty!!
That is so pretty! It seems like the Sephora brand has been picking up lately – I love their liquid liners, too. I may have to try these – hate sticky gloss!
Every time I see these opalescent lipglosses at Ulta I think of you! I have never tried them them and didn’t want to recommend them to you because of it. But now that you’ve tried them I want to also!
My lips have been sensitive to something in Sephora’s lip glosses in the past, so I gave up on them. Your review just may be enough to convince me to try them once more. It’s been awhile and I’ve never tried this type of their gloss, so maybe I will have better luck! Super pretty!
I managed to score one of these glosses when I was in the states and I adore it. How funky is the applicator? This particular colour is making me sad that I didn’t see it! I totally would have bought it.
I’m so glad you reviewed this! I never see reviews for Sephora brand products. I’m definitely checking this out!
You know what – I remember being in Sephora and checking those out a couple times (if they’re the ones I’m thinking about – that section where there’s like loads of them) I’ve passed them up, but thought about getting them, now I want to for sure. Now if this is the one I’m thinking about, it looks almost like Mac Funtabulous in the tube – I thought that when I saw it in the store too.
You won me over with ‘not sticky’! I hate sticky gloss so much so that makes this a big winner. Might go pick one up.
Way too sheer for me to spend $ on. Reminds me of some of those blue no color, just some look of pigment in the tube but goes on only as a highlighter overlay. I am far too picky now about what I will spend my $ on and add to my stash as I got beyond the overloaded stash and got tried of going through it and tossing out well earned $. Nice it’s not sticky. Good to know. But I find most glosses totally dry out my lips. Very few ‘work’ for me due to that. I have found Jose Maran gloss does work for me in that it won’t dry out my lips to pealing in one days use. So for now, have been sticking with that brand and forever using my gobs of balms.
If it’s not sticky, I think I need to try it. I have some lip glosses I won’t wear when it’s windy because I don’t want my hair to stick to my lips! I always overlook the Sephora brand too, for some reason. But, I bought their eye primer a few weeks ago and LOVE it.
have it too, but didn’t wear it yet. now i see it’s quite sheer i’m a little disappointed!
If anyone has tried the Reflex Black Energy, I’d love to see it. I adore smoky colors!
Very pretty, just wish it had better pay off.
Thank you for this, I ran right out and got the Reflex Black Energy!!!!
