Milani Haute Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Lipgloss for Summer 2011 Swatches, Photos, Review & Comparison
Remember the Milani Lip Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencils that I fell so madly for? Well for summer 2011, Milani is introducing us to a new product with some of the same amazing colors!
Haute Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Lipgloss’s (Limited Edition) are shimmery, glittery glosses in a tube, rather than pencil form. They matched four of the colors to the pencils and they are pretty exact in terms of color.
- Star Flash – Pale pink with purple/blue flash
- Flashy – Fuchsia shimmer
- In A Flash – Light purple/pink shimmer with blue flash
- Hot Flash – Deep cherry red shimmer
When compared to the pencils, I notice two things. A. They are slightly more moist (though I find the pencils to be pretty moisturizing also) and B. Less maintenance overall because you don’t have to sharpen a gloss!

As you can tell, they are very shimmery and vivid with really great pigmentation.
The only one that doesn’t look almost exact to it’s pencil form is Star Flash. I find that the pencil form is more of a super pale ballerina opalescent pink, compared to this one, which is deeper and has more of a lavender flash.
I love all these colors, they are SO gorgeous and shiny and so perfect for summer!
There is barely any sticky feeling at all and no scent that I detected either.

Yes, in fact these are virtual dupes in both container style, size, wand and color for the MAC Dare To Wear Lipglasses from last summer.
I actually don’t mind this at all because MAC doesn’t make those anymore, and I was worried about running low on a few tubes I have. Also these are a great less expensive alternative to MAC and you can find them in drugstores! NOTE: these are also limited edition for the month of July, so if you want them, stock up!
Overall:
Fabulous, amazing, perfection. I love these shimmery glosses because they are opaque, “flashy”, moisturizing, non-gritty, non-sticky and readily available.

Wow, they look exactly the same as MAC’s. These are the best makeup dupes I have ever seen. Hopefully I can find a drugstore near me that carries them, because I definitely want them all. Ugh, but none of my local drugstores EVER carry LE items. Boo.
If it weren’t for the fact that I don’t think we can get Milani here, I’d pick them up quick as a flash as back-ups for my MAC ones. They look identical!

Wow, those are exact dupes – insane. They are so pretty and shiny, too. I still haven’t found Milani at the drugstores here, so I guess I have to try walgreens…though there aren’t as many of those as you would expect.
as soon as i saw hot flash, i was like wow that looks a lot like my mac lipgloss, and lo and behold keep scrolling it does look just like it! haha

OMG ALL THESE JULY DRUGSTORE COLLECTIONS! I’m so hype about the Milani Painter’s collection (I believe it’s called) with that amazing eyeshadow palette and now THESE! My spousal equivalent it already weirded out by my numerous trips to the drugstore to scout these out already… *sigh*

I will get one and see how it works for me. If that passes, I probably will get at least one more. Hot Flash is going to be the first one.

I like these more than the pencils! I’ve checked out the pencils and have only thought, “ehhh,” but these I will check out in earnest! It’s like the perfect combo of enough color in gloss form!
