Milani Baked Powder Blush Swatches, Photos & Review

Milani Baked Blush Milani Baked Powder Blush Swatches, Photos & Review

Milani Baked Powder Blushes are powder blushes that look multi-colored and shimmery, but blend into one even color. They say these are actually baked on Italian terracotta tiles (Milani is made in Italy)!

They currently come in nine different shades.

The blush compacts open up to a container below which houses a little mirror and tiny applicator brush.

The brush isn’t the best, it feels a bit scratchy and plastic-y to my hand, so I would likely use a regular blush brush to apply them.

Berry Amore, Fantastico Mauve

Berry Amore really doesn’t look very “berry” on my skin does it? It comes off as more of a warm coral/peach color with golden shimmer.

Fantastico Mauve is a medium/deep mauve pink color with golden shimmer.

Both are super soft and quite opaque with just a little swipe. These are ones you definitely have to tap off when using otherwise you might wind up looking a bit “feverish” icon smile Milani Baked Powder Blush Swatches, Photos & Review

Overall:

I like both of these colors, though I think I am better suites to Berry Amore for my skin tone than Fantastico Mauve. They are very soft, pretty to look at and have great color payoff. The downside is they are shimmery, so if you don’t like any shimmer you won’t like these.

Availability: Milani’s website and drug stores

Pricing: $7.99

Whaddya think about these?

  • They’re both pretty but I think that their names don’t suit them very well.

      I agree!

  • I love these. I think Milani is fantastic. I have two of these. I want to get Luminoso!

    • Hi Gina,

Yeah I have my eye on a couple other colors also :)

I have 3 of these and I want 4 more they are great and last all day. I’m glad you reviewed famtastico mauve because its on my list but it looks scary lol

    • Hi Tammie,

It does seem a little scary to me also because I am not used to colors that deep on my cheeks. They can sometimes look muddy on me, but we shall see!

      • It’s worth a try after seeing your swatch. When I saw it in the store I was like “holy cannoli that is PURPLE” haha. I was wondering who could pull it off. But now I see it’s not so bad, as long it’s applied carefully.

All I own blush-wise at the moment are drugstore brands so I can’t really compare to higher end, but these are definitely my favorite blushes so far. So much so that I am finding it tough to pay $20+ on fancy ones now, even though I want to try them! :X

The blushes I want: Fantastico Mauve, Luminoso, Red Vino and Rose D’or.
The blushes I have: Pink Dolce, Corallina, Berry Amore.

  • Maybe it’s my computer screen, but I was expecting the swatch of Fantastico Mauve to be more purple.

  • I love these! I think they are one of the best blushes you can buy from the drugstore. A really nice color for pale skin is Luminoso. It doesn’t have the pretty veining of the other colors, but it really is gorgeous.

  • These are too pretty! I’m dying to buy Corallina. I’ve seen great reviews about that one.

These are so pretty, but I just don’t seem to go through blush fast enough to justify buying all the great blushes you keep showing us! Doesn’t help that I don’t wear makeup everyday (working from home doesn’t really require it, and the dogs don’t care if I look ‘pretty’). Hmmm… maybe I’ll have to start wearing makeup at home just so I can buy more…

    • HI UneLuneBleue,

But yet you go through nail polish that fast? Teasing, teasing ;D

      May 3, 2011
      • UneLuneBleue

Lol, you might be teasing, but you bring up a point. Somehow I doubt I’ll ever finish a single bottle of nail polish (other than base and top coat), yet I don’t mind buying those… Yay! Now I can buy some of these blushes! Now what color should I paint my nails today….

        • I look at my collection and sometimes it makes me sick. I swatch things, put them away to never see them again for like a year then one day I see it and say “Wow I LOVE this, why haven’t I been wearing it?” :)

I’m continually suprised by Milani Cosmetics. I really like baked blushes and eye shadows. I’ll definitely have to try these.

  • It’s really, really too bad about the shimmer–I hate shimmer in a blush–because they look soooo pretty!

  • This pretty much clinches that I need to pick up Fantastico Mauve. I got Luminoso and I’m loving it. My display was out of Fantastico Mauve though – wish they’d had it!
