Cargo Los Angeles Color Palette Swatches, Photos & Review

Cargo Los Angeles

For some reason I never really jumped onto the Cargo Color Palette eyeshadows until very recently. I have had Tahiti for a couple years now and absolutely love it, but I somehow overlooked the rest of them.

Well now I have a few more including Los Angeles and I am kind of kicking myself for not getting them long ago.

Color Palettes are a palette of 4 eyeshadow colors that come in a very sturdy and thick plastic compact with a large mirror. They were created to either be used as they are or as a compliment to their Essential Palette, which is a palette of four neutral eyeshadows.

There are ten of these palettes (Baja, Barcelona, Bermuda, London, Los Angeles, Paris, Shanghai, Tahiti, Toronto and Vienna) and they all include 4 different colors.

Talk about getting into a cool collection…I fear like the Kat Von D palettes, I am going to want to see all of these stacked up nicely in my drawer :D

The palettes don’t come with names for the eyeshadows, instead they are all assigned a letter from A-D going in reading order, left to right.

A is a pale shimmery blue/green color
B is a medium royal purple shimmer
C is a medium shimmery aqua blue
D is a bone color with a little yellow shimmer

All of these shadows feel really soft and nice applied, they blend very easily. They have a pretty good level of pigmentation in them as well.

I love this combo of colors, it seems totally perfect for wearing in the summertime especially. I can definitely see myself jetting off to Fiji with this compact in my makeup bag, sigh.

A girl can dream. ;)

Availability: Cargo’s website or Ulta (limited selection at Ulta though)

Pricing: $28.00

Have you tried any of these palettes? Which are your favs?

I was all ready to go forth and lemming… but they’re shimmery. Gimme some chalky fabulous mattes in a palette somebody! :P

There are almost all mattes in the newest of the TARTE pallet. I am drawing a blank on the name. It has a purple cover (but most do) and it opens like a large wallet. That flap part of the wallet has lines of color coming to a V point. The rest of the cover is plain – just that flap is decorated. I love this pallet. There are only 2 (maybe 3) that are shimmers – rest are mattes – oh and I LOVE TARTE shadows. These are part of the newer Amazonian Clay line from TARTE. I am a huge fan of UD matte shadows. However their FAB Nudes pallet is a mix of shimmers & mattes but none of their high glitters. If you have not heard/seen of this infamous Nudes Pallet, you need to get out more. It’s constantly sold out and folks get on lists to get notified when it’s back in. It’s been a HUGE hit for the past year. I was lucky and stumbled on it in the first release. Despite it has some shimmers, I still really recommend it. But do check out that new pallet from TARTE (sold on QVC, Tarte.com and ?)

Do you mean the UD Naked palette? Love that palette- although 90% of the shades are shimmer / glitter, only one or two matt shades (and it may actually be only one?), still an amazing palette.

I really want this one and the Barcelona one!

      Hi Amber,

      Barcelona review coming soon!

I have this one and Vienna. Vienna gets more use from me, but these shades in the LA palette are nice for summer. I love the highlight shade a lot!

I’ve had this palette for like a year and LOVE it. Cargo eyeshadows are great. Great texture, great payoff, love them. And an eye look using all these is surprisingly wearable and fun, Here is my favorite way to wear this palette if anyone’s interested in looking http://a3.twimg.com/profile_images/817886931/cargo.jpg

I’ve tried Cargo’s glosses, but can’t remember what I thought of them. They obviously weren’t exceptional either way, I suppose.

Not a fan only because I REALLY cannot do blue eyeshadow. I grew up when it was THE thing in the 60’s and have never recovered from the multitude of powder blue shadows. I will wear a little teal or navyish shades but only in the outer corner V or along the lash liner area,

I forgot to say I DO have 2 Cargo colors and when I purge my shadow collection,, these 2 are always saved. They are old from when they did their shadows in round aluminum pots (maybe they still do – see I also don’t look at the Cargo collection). The shades are a deep, smokey gray (yes with a touch of blue/black to it), and a great highlighter shade in a matte creamy white. I ADORE these 2 shades after years and love that formula. Guess I need to look again at Cargo shadows!

I have two Cargo palettes from long ago. I really do like their eyeshadows. Too bad I don’t live near an Ulta!

this is so pretty! love the aqua colour (C) the most :D such a unique colour, with great pigmentation!

not a big fan of D, though I can imagine how it’ll complement the other 3 colours (:

These are fun colours to wear, but from the way they look in the palette, I thought the purple and blue swatches would be darker.

I don’t think I’ve tried any Cargo cosmetics. These colors look different in swatches than they do in the pan. I like the highlight shade…I thought it was just white!

I’ve never tried these Cargo palettes. This combo looks cool though!
