Wet n Wild Lipstick

Back in the day, I used to peruse the Berkeley Kress store on Shattuck Avenue (my old stomping grounds) and buy lots of black Wet n Wild eyeliner. I never really got into their lipstick much from what I remember. I actually didn’t wear lipstick until around age 16/17 because I hated the way it felt. Wow did that change!

I recently saw these beauties at drug store and couldn’t resist trying them out. So bright and juicy looking and hey, on sale for .69 cents who could resist?

The formula was fairly good with these. They felt moisturizing and had a good level of saturation. Not the best I’ve ever used, but pretty darn good for the price.

The packaging did definitely feel cheaper and more plasticky and loose than I would prefer in a lipstick tube, but again no complaints for the price!

502A is a shimmery pink/mauve color. This one is a little frosty (80’s) looking, but not too bad. I think it would look great with a really dark eye especially.

521A is a bright fuchsia with purple/blue shimmer. Bright pink is one of my favorite lips colors to wear and this one is really quite nice. The pink is a little on the warmer side than most fuchsia lipsticks I own, but not really that warm.

514A is a bright cherry red with red shimmer. This also has a slightly warm feeling to it. It’s not as saturated as I expected it to be, but after a few swipes it looks amazing. I like that it’s not overly bright like some cherry reds are, it’s slightly muted so that makes it more wearable to me.

Overall:

I liked all three of these but especially 521A and 514A. Even if they had been around say $5.00 I think they would be totally worth it.

Availability: Drug stores

Pricing: .69

What do you think of these colors? Have you ever worn Wet n Wild lipsticks?
