MAC Quite Cute

The MAC Quite Cute collection is all about “Cupcake icing colours, vintage romance, an ATM card with Hello Kitty on it”. The collection is filled with light, fun pastel colors. In other words, right up my alley!

Cutie Eye Shadow Quad

MAC Quite Cute Cutie Eye Shadow Swatches
Moshi Moshi!, Goody Goody Gum Drop, Boy Crazy, Azuki Bean

This quad, as I am finding lately with a lot of their quads, was lacking in the saturation department. While the colors are meant to be mostly light, they are pretty darn sheer, except for Azuki Bean.

Today I’m wearing this quad and I can tell you I probably won’t wear it again. It takes a lot of work for the colors to show up and even then they are so subtle. Not for me!

MAC Quite Cute Lipstick

Playing Koi, Quite Cute, Candy Yum-Yum, Play Time

Sorry I am missing Saint Germain here! I did receive some of these as samples, but ordered the ones I didn’t get as samples because I thought I would love them. I was positive I had Saint Germain so I didn’t order it, then realized I recycled it awhile back. Oh well!

All of these are colors I totally gravitate towards, though a couple are definitely easier to pull off than others.

Playing Koi I found to be so pale and a bit chalky it looks very Mod and not easy to pull off.

Quite Cute is definitely an extremely cool lavender/blue color, so not that easy to wear, but because it’s a cremesheen, it’s not as blatant as say a matte or amplified.

Candy Yum-Yum is BEYOND amazing! It might be my new favorite lipstick ever. The color is sooooo saturated and it’s a perfect bright pink.

Play Time wound up being a lot more wearable and prettier than I expected as well. Again it’s a cremesheen and it’s a really flattering pinky/purple color.

MAC Quite Cute Mineralize Blush Giggly

MAC Quite Cute Giggly Swatches
Giggy (pink alone, heart alone, blended together)

Giggly is probbaly the most wearable universal color of these three blushes. The outside is a nice pink color and the middle heart is a shimmery lavender.

I like how these all blend together, but I think for my cheeks I prefer just the pink color without using the heart shade as much.

MAC Quite Cute Mineralize Blush Miss Behave
Miss Behave

MAC Quite Cute Miss Behave Swatches
Miss Behave (pink/beige alone, green heart alone, blended together)

Miss Behave is a strange one. The outside color is a very pretty, but a bit sheer peachy beige color. The heart is a pale silvery green. Blended they do look quite nice, but again very pale.

MAC Quite Cute Mineralize Blush Sakura

MAC Quite Cute Sakura Swatches
Sakura (lavender alone, magenta heart alone, blended together)

Sakura is so pretty, I love the way it looks in the pan and the colors are really nice also.

I think this is a fun and bright blush combo, but perhaps not as wearable as Giggly. Then again I look at it and it does seem fairly tame, I’m just more used to wearing pink and peach blushes rather than red or purple based ones.

MAC Quite Cute Plushglass

MAC Quite Cute Plushglass Swatches
Fashion Fanatic, I ♥ U, Girl ♥ Boy, Bubble Tea

Plushglass glosses have never been my favorites from MAC because they are fairly sheer and have that tingly thing going on (supposed to be a plumping gloss, but they don’t plump on me).

All of these colors are nice and totally easy to wear, but very subdued. You don’t get a lot of saturation with them.

I would probably wear them most on days where I just want my lips protected with something or over a similar colored lipstick.

In Synch, Boldly Bare

In Synch is a very pale pink and Boldly Bare is a dark reddish brown.

In Synch is the one I would most likely wear since I have many pale pink lipsticks this could go with.

Boldly Bare is pretty dark for me, I don’t often wear lipstick that is near this shade.

Both give off great pigmentation though and I have always really liked the formula of MAC lip pencils.

MAC Quite Cute Nail Lacquer

MAC Quite Cute Little Girl Type
Little Girl Type

Little Girl Type is a pale lavender creme. What surprised me about these was that they weren’t as thick as I expected. Most pastel polishes tend to be very thick and a bit messy, and considering MAC’s normal formula, I thought these would be also. But nope. They applied fairly nicely, though I did need three coats for all. I didn’t have any streaking with this one after the three coats either.

MAC Quite Cute Ice Cream Cake
Ice Cream Cake

Ice Cream Cake is a blue-based pink creme. I like the color, though I don’t think it’s anything unique. The formula was the worst of the three here because it was extremely streaky and even after three coats you can see streaks.

Oh one more thing to mention about all of these. The brushes with all three were messed up with pieces sticking out, which made painting not so great. They almost felt like the cheap temporary brushes, not regular ones.

MAC Quite Cute Mischevious Mint
Mischievous Mint

Mischievous Mint is a pale mint green creme. I adore this one, it’s the only one I think is worth purchasing. I’m a sucker for a mint, and this one is really quite nice. The formula was streaky at first but totally evened out after three coats and I loved the color.

Before you ask, this is nothing like Peppermint Patti, so it’s not a dupe.

There are some good and bad things here I think. I really love the lipsticks, they are great. The mineralize blushes also are very nice and good colors. The Plushglasses are just kinda of “meh” for me and definitely skip the eye quad unless you love a sheer eye. The only nail lacquer I loved was Mischievous Mint, but if you already have a million mint colors then you might not want this one too.
