Favorites: MAC Bright Pink Lipstick Ideas for Spring and Summer

Hope you have fun things planned today. Nice weather in the Bay Area this weekend so I am going to soak up as much of it as I can 
Today kicks off the start of a new series I plan on doing which will be all about my top favorite products. I am trying to get out of the rut of only doing reviews but it’s hard because I have SO many to catch up on and only have the weekends! I know you guys liked my top 10 nail posts so this will be a bit like that, but expanded into other areas.
As you might know, I am a huge fan of MAC lipsticks and currently own over 100 of them! I’ve been collecting since the very early 90′s (and have recycled at least 50-75) so I thought I would show you some of my favorite bright pinks by them.
Bright pink has always been a favorite lipstick choice for me and since we are in the middle of spring and summer is right around the corner, what better time than now to bust out a bright pink lip?
MAC Candy Yum-Yum
Candy Yum-Yum (Matte) is the newest of the super bright, almost neon pink lipsticks MAC has out. The second I applied this one it became my favorite lipstick, possibly ever. I love the color so much, it’s perfection on me.
MAC Girl About Town
Girl About Town (Amplified) is a different kind of bright pink, more subdued and has a bit of mauve/purple to it. It’s creamy and shiny and a more wearable color than some others here.
MAC Impassioned
Impassioned (Amplified) is a pink/coral/red color, but I think it leans more towards pink than red or orange to my eye. This is another very bright one and super pretty for summer!
MAC Pink Burst
Pink Burst (Frost) is a deeper more purple/pink with a frosty shimmer. Again this is more wearable than some but still bright enough to feel like your are wearing something fun on your lips.
MAC Show Orchid
Show Orchid (Amplified) is another one of my very favorite pinks ever. It’s a bright fuchsia with purple/pink shimmer overlay. Gorgeous!
MAC Something New
Something New (Amplified) is a medium pink that is bright but not overpowering, and perfect for spring.

I have recently developed a passion for lipsticks and am getting over my fear of wearing bold colors. You looks so awesome in bright pink, I’m kind of jealous, haha. But I think it is mostly confidence. You can definitely tell when someone is uncomfortable with what they’re wearing and somehow it makes whatever they’re wearing not look as good. I really hope they re-promote Candy Yum-Yum because it is gorgeous!

I do think it’s brighter in real life. It’s one of my favorite MAC lipsticks, and I don’t even like pink so much. At least not on me.

I like the idea of this type of post a lot! Especially this one as I’ve been thinking I should try a good bright pink lipstick one of these days.
They all look lovely on you! I’m a big fan of bright pink lips, too; I think my favorite of these is Show Orchid but they’re all gorgeous. My favorite bright pink lipstick ever would be Morgana Cryptoria’s Azalea Blue, a beautiful bright fuchsia with blue shimmer.
Ok, that’s it! I’m wearing more bright lip colors! I always think I look like a damn hooker with bright lips, but I’m starting to think that’s just in my head because I look at all these pretty colors on you and think they look fab! We have very similar coloring and hair color, so if you can do it, so can I! I’m off to put on one of those Milani Flash pencil lip color thingies that I bought and haven’t worn yet! (Oh, and I do love seeing your collection, so I look forward to future posts like this too)
They all look amazing on you! I can’t believe in my 100+ stash of MAC lipsticks, I don’t have a single on in your Top 10 pinks. Must change this! Pink Burst or Girl About Town will do. Just a suggestion, but you might want to list if the lippies are permanent or LE.

I LOVE your new haircut! It’s perfect. I wish I had enough hair to pull off that kind of style. Alas, I have long, flat hippie hair. These bright lip colors are so fun. I only own three lipsticks, but I do have Girl About Town and wear it whenever I’m in a cheeky mood.
Today was the most glorious day ever! I went on a hike at Stinson Beach, and I highly recommend it, as it is one of the Bay Area’s best hikes.The trail is called the Matt Davis – Steep Ravine Loop in Mount Tamalpais State Park. In early spring, the waterfalls are gorgeous, and I would say over half the trail is in the shade, which feels like air conditioning! At the end of the hike, get some goodies at the market and laze on the beach!
Even though I don’t excited about MAC the way others do, I’m quite proud of myself that I noticed a girl who worked at Starbucks had on Candy Yum Yum and I made a comment about it and we instantly started talking abouty beauty blogs and swatches. It was like talking in secret code!

Cool post! Your blog has definitely inspired me to try bolder lip colors instead of gloss all the time. I bought Rose Hip and Orange Gina by Milani and was impressed that they looked OK when I tried them on! Now I need to be brave enough to wear them!
