Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios

Wet n Wild recently released their new Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios for spring 2011 and they are all really nice!

Actually the release might be not-so-recent by now, but I was in the hunt to get them all before I swatched them (yes I’m that anal) so here they are.

  • I’m Getting Sunburned
  • I’m Feeling Retro
  • I Got Good Jeans
  • Spoiled Brat
  • Silent Treatment
  • I Dream Of Greenie

I am super impressed with these I have to say. Wet n Wild is no longer the same company as they were when I started wearing makeup with them in the glory days of 1985.

All these are so soft and pigmented. They might be on the verge of being a little too soft, because a lot of the palettes in the store were broken a bit. They are so soft they almost crumble and have a little bit more fallout than a typical shadow, but that doesn’t put me off of them at all.

As with their other recent eyeshadow palettes, these tell you exactly where to place the colors, which is great for those a little unsure or newer to makeup.

Let’s look closer.

I’m Getting Sunburned is a somewhat neutral palette featuring a shimmery candy colored pink, deep chocolate/bronze with bronze glitter and warm copper gold with gold glitter.

I like the pink, but really love the bronze and copper. They are so gorgeous and pigmented. You would think the bronze would wind up being chalky because usually dark glittery colors seem chalky and patchy, but it’s gorgeous.

I’m Feeling Retro features a metallic white/silver, medium blue and vivid purple/pink.

Of all these trios, this was the least pigmented one I felt, however it still gave off pretty good color. I absolutely love that purple color, it’s almost duochrome-y looking.

I Got Good Jeans is a very nice trio featuring a very metallic light blue/silver, deep shimmery navy blue and medium gold with a slight greenish cast.

I love this one a lot, the colors go together so nicely and all were so saturated!

Spoiled Brat is the “wild” trio. Reminds me of colors you would see in the 80’s! It features a metallic silver, matte black with silver glitter and fuchsia pink.

Again I love this combo of colors and the pink is so pretty. The black wasn’t as pigmented as I hoped for though.

Silent Treatment is what I would classify as the “professional” trio. All the colors are more subdued and would work in a conservative office place. It features a pale peachy/pink, dark brown with subtle gold glitter and a deep taupe-y/plum.

I wore this one first and loved the combination. The taupe/plum color is SO soft and nice and looks really good with the brown in the crease.

I Dream Of Greenie is the green palette and very appropriate for spring. It features a pale metallic green, medium shimmery grass green and bright yellow/green with yellow glitter.

This is the first one my eye went to because I am obsessed with green eyeshadow (AND nail polish). It’s so fresh looking and somehow always makes my blue/grey eyes really pop. The yellow/green color here wasn’t as pigmented as I hoped it would be, but it’s still decent. I love them all together, very nice.

Overall:

Love them all! There isn’t a single one of these that I wouldn’t wear. I love all the color combinations and almost all the shadows were just perfection on a stick. For the price especially, they are definitely worth hunting down!

Availability: Walgreens or where ever Wet n Wild is sold (these can be really hard to find though!)

Pricing: $2.99

What are you thinking about these? Are they worth hunting down to you?
