Cult Nails Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

Cult Nails is a relatively new brand of nail polish created by none other than Maria from the R3 Daily blog! I am really happy that Maria is following a dream of hers to have her own nail polish brand. I love when a blogger can make that happen!
Cult Nails has just four colors right now, but she’s got some new colors coming down the line soon.
Let’s take a closer look. Oh and stay tuned because there is a special offer at the end.
The formula was really quite nice for all four of these. The polish was on the thin side, but covered really nicely and evenly in two coats for all.

My Kind of Cool Aid
My Kind of Cool Aid is a greyed out lavender with tiny silver shimmery bits. This is a really gorgeous and unique color. You don’t often see these muted lavenders with shimmer and I love the dustiness of it. I was surprised that it only took two coats because it seemed a bit sheer at first, but it turned into this nice opaque color.

Iconic
Iconic is a deep red/purple with duochrome flake glitter. Very unique and super pretty! I love the gold/red flakes in it, and they spread out evenly and easily on the nail. I like that the base color isn’t a true red, it makes it more interesting to me.

Living Water
Living Water is a very deep blackened blue with blue and green micro-glitter. When I first saw this one I thought it was just going to be deep blue with blue glitter, but then I saw the blue/green mix and loved it more. I also think the name is really perfect for this color. I am super impressed that a color this dark covered this nicely in two coats, that’s rare!

Quench
Quench is a deep yet bright red jelly. In the bottle this looks darker than it applies on the nail. And wow the shine on this one is great! This is a really nice classic red and for a jelly it covered perfectly in two coats.
Overall:
Color me impressed. You always think that when someone is just starting out with a brand they might struggle a bit with the formula at first, but these were all really good. The formula is great and consistent, and the colors are fun. I look forward to what Maria has in store next!
Availability: Cult Nails site
Pricing: $10.00 each.
Alert! Right now you can get free shipping (domestic and international) if you purchase all 4 colors using coupon code: “Vampy”. The offer is good until March 21st, 2011.
What do you think about Cult Nails?

I am LOVING my Cult Nail polishes! The wear on them is fantastic so far (I’ve tried Iconic and MKOCA). It’s like iron! But they haven’t been as shiny or as glittery so far as your swatches. May I ask what you’re using for top coat?

Hi Styrch,
I don’t use a top coat when swatching, so there’s nothing on them but the polish itself.
Living Water is gorgeous! I might have to place an order soon.

These are really beautiful! I’d love to get all of them!

I can’t choose only one! I love all of them!! But it’s impossible find this nail polish in my country
same here, that’s why I fall for the free international shipping
Yes. That is a fantastic idea! Thanks so much for this.
I think it’s really interesting that you found the formula to be a little watery. To me they were a little thick, but I learned quickly why and how to work with that. All of them seem that way to me…so I wonder what you consider thick.

Hi Elizabeth,
I didn’t say watery I said thin. Thick to me would be Misa (usually).
I can’t wait for mine to get to me!

I absolutely LOVE all the Cult Nails colors!
Quench is SO delicious looking, but it is closer to the bottle color on me. Also, like someone mentioned above, my bottle of MKOCA is quite thick but very manageable.
I used a coat of Seche on all colors except Quench. I know you should always wear a top coat, but seriously it doesn’t need it!

My Kind of Cool Aid reminds me of Insouciant from Rescue Beauty Lounge, but I might have to try Iconic and Living Water – very interesting shades!
I really adore CN and Maria even more
I admire her so much for going for her dreams! Was hoping to see you review these. I think iconic is my favorite, I love the complexity of it! Can’t wait to see what she comes out with next.

Living water is beautiful! I love the micro glitter.
OOoh! the first one is the typical muddy purple but not. Its a different spin on that, and I love it! and then the 3rd one…it looks like a outer space to me w/ lots of stars!
Living Water is amazing!
These are really gorgeous and I always try to support indie artists, but…10$ per bottle? There’s no way I can allow myself to spend this kind of money on just one bottle. I mean, that’s nearly 4 CG bottles or 2-3 OPIs. D:
Living water is so pretty! If I had the money, I’d scoop all these up right now.

Never heard of this brand before. These are all really beautiful, but my favorite would have to be either My Kind of Cool Aid or Living Water. Thanks for swatching them.

Iconic and Living Water are lovely.

!
I applied My Kind of Cool Aid last night and I am very impressed! This color is so chic and edgy and compliments a lot of things in my wardrobe. Living Water is an insanely beautiful color too. It’s now in my Top 20 along with BB Couture Vampy Varnish!
Wow, these are amazing looking! I’m not so sold on the red jelly, mostly because I’m sure I’ve something similar in my polish stash, but the other three are beautiful! Especially the first one. Love it!
WOW! Those are all excellent- My Kind of Cool Aid is totally gorgeous, and that type of dusty purple usually does nothing for me- but even the base has got incredible depth- and then there’s the shimmer! Awesome.
Wow, Ive seen the colors on other blogs, but your just out me over the edge, I need to get all three!
These are all so beautiful, but My Kind of Cool Aid and Living Water are my favorites!
Can you tell me how Iconic compares to Barielle’s Elle’s Spell?
These are gorgeous!!
OMG, I MUST own Living Water and My Kind of Cool AId at once!!

Whoa, Living Water is gorgeous! Love it.
I ordered them all except Quench last week (I don’t often wear red cremes or jellies), can’t wait until they arrive! These are the best swatches I’ve seen of the colors, and now I’m even happier and more excited by my selections.
Yeah, they came in the mail today, soooo pretty! And your swatches are reeeeally accurate! Ok, now I’m happy
such pretty colors!
I think what impresses me (since I haven’t tried them yet) is that a new brand is coming out with such interesting colors! The only one that doesn’t really stand out to me is Quench, although it’s beautiful reds aren’t usually my thing. Surprisingly, Iconic really catches my eye, these are all gorgeous colors

I love the first two but its quite expensive
Yours are the best swatches I’ve seen. These are such gorgeous polishes. I will buy them sometime. They are so shiny and beautiful.
I love Iconic, it’s so pretty!

This is really a random comment, but I seriously don’t get the name “My Kind of Cool Aid.” What does that mean? Is it supposed to be like Kool-Aid, the drink? The nail polish is grey, it looks nothing like Kool-Aid… Ah, whatever. It’s just a little thing that peeves me. I obsess over nail polish names, haha.
Omg, these colours are GORGEOUS!!! And lovin’ the free shipping (thanks for that!) because I want all four
Oh no, those colors are beautiful! Living Water looks especially gorgeous. The free shipping is super generous for a new company and definitely has enticed me to buy all four…dammit. XD

These are all beautiful colors!! I especially love Iconic and Living Water. I can’t wait to see what other creations she comes up with next.

It’s so great to see a beauty blogger making her own line of nail polish… something I am sure many other bloggers have dreamed about doing. I know I have
