BB Couture A Touch Of Greece Nail Lacquer Collection for Spring 2011 Swatches & Review – Part 2
Hello and welcome to part 2 of the BB Couture A Touch Of Greece collection for spring!
This is the “regular” side of the collection, or non “For Men” side if you like, but as you know anyone can wear whatever colors they choose.
I would definitely consider this side a lot more what you would expect from a spring collection, but it’s still definitely not boring. Not a creme in sight, and even some fun holographic micro-glitter!
The formula on most of these is really great, but these seemed thinner so a few did require three coats.

Hemera
Hemera is a bright fun coral with silver shimmer. I love this color on me and I love wearing coral in the spring and summer. The shimmer makes it more interesting than a plain ‘ole creme. This was two coats.

Selene
Selene is a bright fuchsia pink with heavy blue flash and holographic micro-glitter. I am in love with this pink, it’s my favorite kind and this one is truly exceptional. This was three coats for maximum coverage.

Gaia
Gaia is a sort of muted celadon green with silver shimmer. Another gorgeous must-have green folks! Love it and it applied so nicely and easily in two coats.

Nike
Nike is a medium violet with heavy pink, purple and blue shimmer. I love this color also, very pretty! This was three coats.

Aphrodite
Aphrodite is a strawberry pink with pink and green shimmer and an almost frosted effect. I don’t love this color for me personally, strawberry pink isn’t my favorite, but it’s still nice. This was two coats.

Cybele
Cybele is an odd one to describe. In the bottle it looks like a very brown pink, but it winds up being an extremely sheer salmon pink color on the nail with holographic micro-glitter. This is the only one I didn’t like at all. It’s just too sheer for me and I’m not a fan of the actual color either. This was three coats and you can definitely still see my nail line.
Overall:
Another really good collection I think, if maybe not as unique as the other one. The ones I would definitely recommend are 1, 2, 3 & 4.
Availability: BB Couture’s website or OverallBeauty’s website. And remember folks, Kim at OverallBeauty will ship anywhere in the world!
Pricing: $9.95 or $57 for all six
What do you think about these ones? Which did you prefer, Part 1 or Part 2?

Pretty but I definitely like part one better.
I agree with you. The first part had more interesting colours. The ones in part 2 are nice, but they don’t have that something extra.

Hemera, Gaia, and Aphrodite are calling my name! Both sides of the line appeal to me though.
I really liked both parts of the collection, but I am more drawn to these. I love Selene (my favorite kind of pink, too) and Nike.
On a side note, I’ve noticed you stopped using letter ratings in your reviews? Was there a reason for it? I actually found them pretty helpful!
Hi Christina,
Yeah I got lazy and didn’t think people even really read them. Maybe I’ll bring them back if there is an interest.
I’m sure it’s hard enough getting everything organized, swatched, and posted!
I like them! It does help! But of course if it’s a pain in the butt to do, I’m sure we can do without it
Nike looks like Danii from Zoya’s spring collection to me…
Dannii is much more a lavender thank Nike is. Hikes more of an electric violet.

Forgive my typos – I don’t know what’s wrong with my fingers today. That should be “than” and “Nike”, not thanks and Hike. But good try, autocorrect.

As a Classical Archaeologist the nerd in me feels like I should get them all. Of these ones, I would probably go for Nike first. Such a beautiful violet!
I liked the mens better but being a greek these are not the colors that come to my mind when I think of Greece so I will pass on this collection..

Part 1 is much edgier and I do love my fuglies!

Wow! I’m in love. They’re so gorgeous. Ok, Cybele wasn’t my favorite either but the rest. Just wow.

I love these and the first three are really calling my name – absolutely gorgeous coral.
Hemera is gorgeous!
I prefer part 1 because it’s edgier, but these are pretty and definitely more spring-like.

Cybele is reeally pretty but too bad it’s so sheer. I wish it looked on the nail like it looks in the bottle. I bet it would look better layered over a polish with a similar base color =/
gorgeous swatches!!

I want Hemera & Nike! Cybele is a let down for sure but you cant win them all I guess =) Thanks for the great review!

Gaia and Nike are the must-haves for me. I found the colors in Part 1 interesting, but those two I actually want on my fingers! Nike reminds me a little of MAC So Rich So Pretty. Electric violet. I love it!

I liked Hemera best! So pretty. The other ones are very pretty too, but I’m on a budget so I’m getting Ares, Eros, Hemera and Apollo…hey, that’s a lot too!
Thank you so much for showing us these. Appreciated!
Hemera and Gaia are gorgeous
Definitely like part 1 better! I think I’ll skip these ones and go for the others instead!
These are all very pretty! My favorites would have to be the first and the third, though. I’m all over these orange-y coral-y pink-y colors at the moment, and who doesn’t love a good green?
These are all pretty nice, and I agree that the first 4 are the strongest in the group, but I think part 1 was more unusual and interesting. Part 2 is still more fun than a bunch of cremes though!
hemera and cybele are sooo stunning! i love them

I’m so excited by both of these collections. I’m not too thrilled with Cybele. The rest I do love.
i totally love all of them!
I might be in the minority, but I like Cybele! It reminds me of Eyeko Chi Chi, but obviously more brown, and with less big glitter chunks.
haha what a coincidence that your reviewing this collection!! i just had the National Greek mythology exam at my school!!
P.S. “Gaia” should be spelled “Gaea”
BUT EITHER WAYYYY its gorgeous
Olivia, both spellings are completely correct, it’s just a matter of what English vowels the translator is substituting for the Greek diphthong.
I LOVE Selene! What a fun, bright, hot shade!
Maybe I’m alone in this – but I find both collections a little blah. I really don’t think of pinks and orangy pukey browns when I think of Greece.
I love Hemera. Corals usually look horrid on me, but I hope the silver shimmer might remedy that!
