Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint Swatches & Review

Lately I have noticed that I am preferring cream blushes to powder ones. I like the “melted into cheeks” effect that they usually have. I don’t have very many of them though and heard pretty good things about the new ones from Urban Decay called Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint.
They come in seven sheer, yet buildable shades now including:
- Bang – bright orange
- Fetish – rose pink
- Indecent – peach
- Score – pink peach with gold shift
- Crush – bright pink
- Greedy - berry
- Quickie – light pink
What I love about these blushes is that they have NO greasy or heavy feeling whatsoever on the skin. They melt in very nicely creating a glow-from-within look rather than sitting on top of the skin. They can be as sheer or as colorful as you like, building up very easily.
Oh and have I mentioned they last ALLLLL day? When I first tried them out it was on a typical work day. I put Score on at 5:30 am then popped it into my travel makeup bag thinking there was NO way this cream blush would last all day. When I got home at 4:45 that evening the color was still completely there with pretty much no fading at all. I cannot think of another blush that lasts that long on me!
The compact they come in is quite cute, I love the purple with the silver snake and they have a nice little mirror inside.

Quickie, Score
As you can see, they look super bright in the pan, but are actually extremely wearable colors.
Quickie is a bright, cool-toned pink, which looks amazing and perfect on fair skin.
Score is a medium peachy/pink color with a subtle gold sheen. I love this one also on my skin and the gold sheen doesn’t make you look all disco-ball-y or anything, it’s nice and subtle.
Overall:
I absolutely love these and am very pleased with the quality and colors. The one thing I don’t love is the price tag. At $24.00 they seem on the high end. I would expect these prices from a higher end company like maybe NARS. Seems like lately Urban Decay prices are higher than MAC, which I’m not happy about since I view them about the same as MAC (affordable and awesome). I would like them better if they were around the $18.00 mark.
Availability: Urban Decay website and Sephora
Price: $24.00 each
What do you think about these? Do you prefer creme or powder blushes?

I seem to like cream blush when my skin looks and feels dry. Quickie seems like a good option for me! I just found the rose Physicians Formula heart blush though (thanks to your recommendation), so I’ll be using that for awhile.
I always wanted to try these they look awesome. In fact I haven’t even tried cream blush ever. :/

Score looks so pretty, though it’s a pity about the higher price tag.
I wonder if the price is higher because they know how good it is. Both quicky and score are very pretty xoxox

Well, it depends on your point of view really, Kelly. The price seems in line with most of the Urban Decay line to me. But, if you ask me, if I had to choose between UD and my coveted Stila Convertible Colors which are a dollar more….I’m getting my Stila CCs. The UD packaging looks like it would break easily, especially with someone as clumsy as me. I swear the Stila CC packaging is indestructible. I accidentally dropped it from the ironing board to the concrete basement floor when I was doing laundry and it didn’t break (seriously, it’s in ONE PIECE still. My Pyrex measuring cup didn’t survive that fall). Give me my Stila!
I prefer powder blushes but sometimes creams are nice if you’re layering for effects.

I’ve been wanting to try cream blushes but am afraid to with my oily skin. How do you think they would work on oilier skin? I know you said they don’t have a greasy feeling, but I also know you’ve mentioned before that you tend to have dry skin. Personally, I look like there was a oil spill on my face just hours after cleansing. Any opinion would be appreciated, I do like the look of cream blushes a lot but haven’t made the jump yet.
UneLuneBleue-
I have hypersensitive acne-prone combination skin that’s dry in the summer and oily in the summer (v. oily. I depend on my Palliado Blotting Tissues!) and the Stila Convertible Colors stay on me in the summer. Posietint doesn’t stay on me very well for some reason and that’s a stain.
What I would recommend is trying to balance your skin out by trying out a new cleanser. If you’re that oily after cleansing, you aren’t using the right cleanser(s); you’re exacerbating your problem actually. I always suggest seeing a dermatologist as they’re professionals. However, if you can’t afford a dermatologist, Sephora had a neat skincare thing over the summer (I’m not seeing it anymore). I’ve heard phenomenal things about the Clinique skincare systems and they can cater the skincare system to you skin through a survey on the Clinique site. They are a little more expensive than drug store (my eye cream was $29, ouch!), but their entire skincare range is on Sephora. If you shop on Sephora, once you get your custom-made routine, you can order it on Sephora if you wanted to.
For the last four months I’ve used a soap made for super sensitive acne-prone skin. I’m not sure if it’s geared toward any skin type other than that, but it’s balanced out my combo skin really well. I can give you the link if you’re interested and converse with the owner (she’s super super nice) to see if the facial bar is right for you too.
(Sorry for the long comment. I tend to really get into things. Oops.)
Kate & Zena,
Thank you for all of your advice! I do appreciate you taking the time to help out with my oily skin problems, lol. Truthfully, I may have exaggerated the situation slightly, but only slightly. My forehead and nose tend to get very shiny after only a few hours, which is frustrating. Luckily I don’t have a huge problem with breakouts. I actually do use Clinique soap that was suggested to me on the survey on their site. I’m long out of the toner etc, so maybe that’s part of the problem as well, since I’m not using the complete system. I think you’re right that I may be exacerbating the problem, but I think it’s more due to over-cleansing and then foregoing the moisturizer. It always seems counterproductive to moisturize, even though I do know better, lol.
I’d definitely be interested in checking out the soap you’ve found that’s working for you, I’m always open to trying out items that others have had success with. And thanks for the info about the Stila Convertible Colors vs. Posietint. I have a sample of Posietint that I haven’t tried yet, actually.
Thanks again for everything!

UneLuneBleue,
I only cleanse once a day because my hypersensitive skin can’t take any more (rather funny as I have a really good soap and my skin still gets raw if I wash it more than once a day). It just depends on your skin, but over-cleansing is never good and neither is never moisturizing! I ride my mom for the never moisturizing thing.
I’ve been using this soap currently. It smells like chamomile tea with honey in it which are the primary ingredients. It’s a scent I largely despise (I HATE the smell of chamomile), but I put up with it because it works so well. I call it my Super Stinky Wonder Soap (aka the SSWS). If you hate the smell as much as I do, just put it next to some Dove scentless soap for a few hours. The Dove sucks up all the scent practically. Ha ha ha.
P.S. There’s a sample size on the site. I forgot to link you to it. Sorry!
Kate & Zena,
Thanks again for all of your help, I ordered the small size to give it a try. They’re so pretty though, they might be one of those things I hate to use because it’s too cute to mess up. I’ll get past it though. Can’t wait to try it, thanks again!

(Lol @ SSWS)
Quickie would be a good color on me. I like that pink. However, the cost is steeper than I’m willing to pay.

I don’t love the price tag on these, but I really really want to try them! If I can decide on a colour, I’ll probably get one.

I’ve never tried any cream blushes before. Pressed powder blushes and loose mineral blushes are the only ones I’ve tried, and they seem to last pretty long on me because I have combination skin. I think that those who have drier skin will prefer cream formulas.
I really like the way the pink one looks. Maybe I’ll try a cream blush from another brand that’s more within my budget.

Though I’m usually not into cream blushes, I bought one of these in Crush when they came out. I loved it so much I ran back and bought Bang and Quickie! I find the non-shimmery cream shades have better pigmentation than the shimmery ones.
I tweeted you this but not sure if you will see it… this girl used the images from the post, even went through cropping them:
