Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils Swatches & Review

Have you had a chance to check out some of the new Urban Decay products for spring 2011 yet? Well I am telling you, you SHOULD!
I could not pass up a chance to get some of the new 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils that recently came out. They have twelve colors, so I decided to get the four that jumped out at me the most.

These are chubby, crease-proof, waterproof eyeshadow/eyeliner hybrid pencils, basically. You can use them as either an eyeshadow or eyeliner. They are pretty blend-able and you can mix/match them to create whatever you want. Also you can easily add powder shadow over them to increase the depth even more!
All four of the ones I tried are very pigmented and smooth as butter. You do not need to work a ton to get massive color payoff, they do it all for you

L to R: Morphine, Delinquent, Narc, Clinic
- Morphine – Light purple with pale blue duochrome
- Delinquent – Dark purple with light purple glitter
- Narc – Mossy green
- Clinic – Emerald green with silver glitter
Now I wouldn’t recommend putting these on your waterline because most of them seem to have glitter or some kind of sparkly stuff in them that could hurt, so avoid that!

I am wearing:
UD Narc all over my lower lid and blended a little past my crease
MAC Bitter on on top of Narc on inner 1/2 of lid
MAC Gesso under eyebrow
Sugarpill Lumi on inner eye corners
UD Narc on lower lash line
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Formula Gel Liner for green eyes (black with green glitter) on upper lash line
Stila Kajal liner in Emerald on waterline
UD Score Afterglow Cheek Tint
MAC Creme D’ Nude Lipstick with MAC C-Thru Lipglass over it
Overall:
I LOVE these and highly recommend them. The colors are saturated and amazing, they go on very easily and are pretty goof-proof. They would be perfect for someone with not a ton of makeup skills, or those who want something with high-impact and fast. The only negative I see is the price. They are on the expensive side for the size you get.
Availability: Urban Decay and Sephora
Price: $20.00 for 0.10 oz
Grade: A
What do you think, will you be picking any of these up?

Narc is sooo pretty! I love greens like that. I receives an Urban Decay liner set for Christmas and I find myself wanting more and more of their products. Expensive, though :/
I’v got Lit, Delinquent and Clash coming to me, plus the brush.
whoa, they are GORGEOUS in those swatches! clinic is calling my name, as is delinquent….soooo pretty

Do you know if they stay put reasonably well without requiring a huge amount of primer? I’ve still not found a primer that doesn’t give me eczema, and I find pencils tend to crease worse than powders after a few hours because of it.

Hi Diane,
Not sure, I have to use a primer with everything so I didn’t test these without one. They claim to be crease-proof, but don’t know how accurate that really is.
Thanks for the reply! Maybe next time I’m at Sephora I’ll check if they have any testers out, I can usually gauge by how they feel on my hand whether they’ll stay put or not.

I think these look great but unfortunately my skin reacts bad with glitter so I’m glad there’s a few choices without it. I think I’m going to get Gunmetal and Morphine.
Ooh, pretty. I just have to comment and say I LOVE your masthead! So freakin’ pretty!
Delinquent and Clinic are gorgeous
Sadly, UD is out of my price range, for now I’m sticking to e.l.f. and Nyx :/

I love Morphine – I really adore all those pinks&violets with blue flash

Oooh, I’m really excited about these pencils! I’m allergic to an ingredient in their powdered shadows, and it’s not in these pencils, so I’m game! Poor wallet!
Love the swatches of the purple and the 2 greens! Hope Urban Decay comes out with an anniversary set with these eye-shadow pencils like they did with the eyeliners. That would be awesome.

I love seeing your make up looks because it seems like we have similar tastes in colors! Those are probably THE four pencils I would have chosen, and it was nice to see them on someone with a skin tone like mine (fair with cool undertones, though I’m assuming you are darker). Definitely going to have to check these bad boys out after reading all of the hype about them.
I love, love the 4 colors you picked out! So pretty…$20 a piece is a bunch, but…I guess it’s not too bad if they’re great quality. I’ll check them out. Thank you!
I have a few of these but I find that they aren’t as pigmented as I would like as an eyeliner for my waterline. Rimmel’s soft kajal eyeliner has always been the best one for me so far. I use them on my lids and under the bottom waterline.

Hi Kitty,
I don’t use these on my waterline because of the glitter.
I love that dark purple one!
I saw these over the weekend but testers weren’t out so I’ll be going back and picking up a couple. I’m so glad you reviewed these. And waterproof as well – great when the humidity is out of control here in the summer
!
I really like the idea of these. I’m a huge UD fan so I think I’m going to have to grab a few!

OH, these are fabulous! I’ve wanted something like this for a long time, so this will rock!
Pencils are SO freakin’ handy!
The colors you got are totally amazing- I’d also like to try Sin, to see if it would be a nice highlighter color without a ton of glitter. Although the glitter in these happily doesn’t look too overpowering from your swatches.
UD had a dark coppery brown in one of their promo shots of this product on their site, and I’m not sure if it was Wasteland- but it was gorgeous.
Did you get the brush? How is removal? Thanks!
Hi ReaderRita,
I didn’t get the brush, I just applied with my finger. Removal wasn’t bad with a good eye makeup remover. I want all of them now, eeekkkk!
I really like Narc a lot. Of course green shadow with green eyes isn’t the most amazing contrast ever, but oh well. I also like the look of Delinquent, but it may be a bit dark for me. I’ll check these out on my next Sephora run!
Morphine looks SO GOOD! I need it!

I saw these at Ulta the other day and was so excited to test them out but I could not, for the life of me, apply any on the back of my hands. They seemed to all have dried up! I think if they had capped the testers it would’ve been better but I am hesitant to purchase now.
Not looking!! Not looking!!! Damn…looked. They create makeup lust in me. And your look is darling too.

I want those greens and a few others also. Darn they are so tempting! Love that green on you. Very pretty.
Would it be possible for you to do a comparison of these vs the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils? They seem really similar-but NYX can crease like crazy.

I have the greasiest skin in the world. Do you need a primer with these? I love love love the colours but I don’t want to end up looking like Marilyn Manson by lunchtime!
