Do you sniff your nail enamel? Come on you can tell me. icon smile Revlon Not So Blueberry Scented Nail Enamel Swatches, Photos & Review

But really, now you CAN if you so desire because Revlon has some new scented enamels out. Actually I woudln’t advise straight-up sniffing it out of the bottle (like I did at first) because you WILL smell massive chemicals at first. But once it’s dried on your nails, feel free.

Revlon Not So Blueberry is a color that I saw at the store and couldn’t pass up. I’m such a sucker for anything purple, blue or purple/blue!

Not So Blueberry

Not So Blueberry is a medium lavender with pink and blue shimmer. In the bottle it looks a little duochrome-y, but it doesn’t really look that way on the nail, although the purple is very blue-based. It’s a really pretty color, perfect for spring!

It only took two coats to get full coverage and it applied very easily and smoothly. It smells like fruity blueberries, which is kind of fun!

Availability: Drug stores

Pricing: $4-6

Have you tried scented nail enamel before?

I got Revlon Orange Pop last summer or whenever it came out, and it really smells like orange soda! Kind of cool. I will have to try Not So Blueberry!!

  • I own all of the Revlon Scented enamels, and really enjoy the novelty factor. I love the colour of this one. It is really pretty, and I agree that it is perfect for spring. It looks perfect on you – great with your skintone!

  • I didn’t grab this because of the scent at first; I grabbed it because of the color. I thought it it was a Top Speed because it was on a rack with them….I saw it and said, “yes please!” out loud. So gloriously sparkly and pretty…it reminds me of sparkly giltter eyeshadows I had in my younger days. The scent lets me indulge that inner 14 year old but I don’t so much care about it.
I am sorely tempted to pick up the coconut one, though.

i thought the colors were gorgeous when i walked past the display, but i was actually really turned off by the fact that they’re scented after they dry. how long does the scent last for? i dont think id be too thrilled with my fingers always smelling like something fruity…

thanks for the swatch! glad to know it’s not super sheer or anything either [i was wondering when i looked at the color in the bottle]

    • Hi stephanie,

Not sure haven’t worn it yet. However the scent isn’t very strong and you won’t really notice unless you sniff your nails directly.

Hi. I love this color! I saw this at Walgreen’s and loved it, but purposefully passed it up due to it being scented. I was worried about walking around the office smelling like candy or something… :-)

    • Hi Kristina,

You have to actually smell your nails directly to smell anything, it doesn’t have much power to it like perfume or anything.

  • I got the green one, I think it’s called Beach? I love the color but the smell makes me sick! It smells like gross roses or something!

I actually have this on my toes right now! It was a total impluse purchase at ulta last week. I do dig the color. For full disclosure, I did not smell it….since I am now way flexible enough to smell my toenails! :-)

I got the Gum Drop and Raspberry scents. Love them!

  • Pretty! :D I have this one too, and I find it really strongly scented. I could smell it the whole time I wore it, through a coat of Seche and everything! Then again I’m a weirdo who always has her hands around her face, hehe.

  • I have to get this one just for the novelty part, LOL Has Revlon started something new? Will China Glaze, Orly, Cover Girl and OPI soon to follow? The color looks great on your nails. If I paint my toes, probably won’t be able to smell the perfumed scent right, LOL Unbelievable! Scented nail polish, what will they think of next…

  • This frustrates me immensely. I love this colour, it’s gorgeous, but I’m lethally allergic to artificial fruit scents and flavours. :(

I got this color awhile back, and I slapped a bunch on an index card last month, desperately looking for that duochrome while chatting on Twitter with someone else who had just bought it (can’t remember who, EvilAngel maybe?). Anyway, I just picked up the index card, and it STILL smells like blueberries over a month later, but you do have to be very close to smell it. Hope that helps some of the people wondering a) how long the smell lasts and b) if they’ll smell like a fruit bowl. Really pretty color though, and I don’t mind the blueberry smell, which I understand does come through even if you wear topcoat, although I haven’t tested that yet myself.

wow that is really pretty! I’m finding that more and more I am loving purples, lavenders, periwinkle, cornflower blue etc – i might just have to go and pick that one up!

  • That’s a really pretty color! I’m generally turned off by gimmicks so I didn’t really give these too much thought when they came out. Maybe I should take another look.

  • I have 7 of Revlon’s scented polishes. My first one was called Strawberry Sublime. I was amazed that it didn’t smell like polish when it dried on my nails. Depending on the brand, some still have the polish smell quite strong even when it’s dry.

    That’s a nice shade!

The color is beautiful – but I am thinking fruit scented polish would be a bad idea for a recovering nail biter :)

  • Hmm. I haven’t seen this in Canada, but if I do, I’ll definitely get it. The color looks really pretty – thanks for swatching. The scent would just be an added bonus for me.

  • I got this a couple of weeks ago and I was kind of dubious about the “scented” part, but the color was pretty enough that I could overlook it. I was really surprised that it actually does smell like blueberries! I never wear polishes for very long, but I wore this for two days and the scent lasted until I took it off. I’m tempted to buy the others now.

I picked this up the other day, but I haven’t used it yet because the Top Speed I picked up at the same time applied horribly.

Though I bought it for the color, I’ll be interested in how the scent is–I actually had some berry scented glitter polishes oh, over ten years ago now, that I used to use for layering and they had a nice scent. Not too strong, but it did linger if you wanted to sniff your fingers for it, haha.

I totally remember having scented nail polishes back in the day! I’m pretty sure I had a set of three, they were tinted topcoats that smelled like blueberry, sour green apple and…I can’t remember the third. I think I got ‘em at Clothestime, which is where I got most of my cosmetics in the 90′s. LOL Or Claire’s. Got some fun stuff there too!

I bought this polish as soon as I saw it in Rite Aid. It is absolutely beautiful but, I had to throw it out. The smell was SO strong that it was nauseating. No amount of Seche Vite blocked it. I hated to throw it out because I loved the color. But, I could have my hands near my face without a wave of nausea.

I bought all of these when they first came out. I’ve always liked Revlon polish. These are pretty shades and smell pretty nice also. Just don’t sniff your nails in public.

I wasn’t planning on pick this color up out of the scented nail polish line but when I was the store the light hit this color so perfectly that it jumped at me. It looked really promising in the bottle until I got home and swatched to me it looks like a frost and I hate frost nail polishes but it is a pretty color and they do a have a purple nail polish for that line that seems to be a perfect color for summer.

    That is really pretty!

I got Beach last year, and loved both color and smell. The scent only lasted a day or two.
