MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

MAC Cham Pale MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

MAC Cham Pale has entered the building! Cham Pale is a new fairly large-ish collection (though nothing compared to Venomous Villains) for winter 2011.

It features a variety of new (and some old) products that span the shimmery nude/pink/peach color range.

Interestingly I was SO interested in this when I first saw promo shots, which is very much unlike me. Normally I like a little more color in my life, but this collection spoke to me right away.

I think it’s because of the shimmer involved. These aren’t boring nude eyeshadows and glosses that just disappear into the skin upon application. They are metallic and sparkly and that will get me every time! icon smile MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

MAC Cham Pale Paint Pot Swatches MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011
Chilled On Ice, Vintage Selection, Let Me Pop, Dangerous Cuvée

These paint pots blew my mind for the most part. They are all beautiful shimmery metal-esque colors, with really nice pigmentation. Like most paint pots they apply very smoothly, are super creamy and dry to a nice velvety finish.

I am especially enamored with Chilled On Ice and Let Me Pop because they are so golden and amazing. The one I expected to like the most (Dangerous Cuvée) was actually my least favorite because it looks more “common” than the others.

I would use these either on their own or as an eyeshadow base to pump up an eyeshadow.

Brule, Et tu, Bouquet?, Caviar Dreams, Retrospeck

Caviar Dreams is a really pretty, soft eyeshadow quad. It features three shimmery shades and a soft satin color.

I was pleasantly surprised with this palette because I expected the colors to barely show up on my skin, but they did. Brule (the satin) was the most pale, but it would be used as a highlight color for me anyway.

I like this palette, think it’s great for someone who doesn’t want TOO much color or is looking for something more conservative. Good pigmentation and nice soft shadows.

The Special Reserve Highlight Powders are a new item in MAC’s lineup and are VERY cool.

First off you have to admit, the design of the powder is so great. It looks like soft fabric gathered up. I really hated to ruin the finish to actually swatch the product, but it had to be done. icon smile MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

Once swatched you get two really nice and different highlight colors.

Chez Chez Lamé is a pretty pale gold with silver shimmer and Rose Olé is a soft pink with gold shimmer. Both are pale enough and not too warm for my skin tone, so that’s a huge bonus.

I haven’t yet used these on my face but I think they will give off a really nice, yet subtle glow where ever applied.

MAC Cham Pale Lipgelee Swatches MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011
Sin-tillation, Luxure, Bubble Lounge, Straight To The Head

The Lipgelée’s are some SUPER shimmery lip glosses that come in a nice tube. If you have ever used any of their Lipgelée’s in the past you know a little goes a long way. The product tends to come out a little too much and since they are SO shimmery, you really don’t need a lot.

What I love about these is the dimensional shine you get and they are not sticky like Lipglass is.

The one issue I had with these specific colors is that on the lip, Sin-tillation and Luxure looked almost identical on me. On my hand and in the tube Sin-tillation is a lot more pink whereas Luxure is more gold. But honestly I love them both so it’s just like getting extra product! Straight To The Head was a bit too warm and dark for me, but would look great on a different skin tone.

You could wear these on their own for a shimmery but more subtle look or over a lipstick to add more color.

MAC Comfort Cream is a very rich facial moisturizer that is said to help relieve visible redness on application and helps hydrate the skin. I haven’t yet used it but I can tell you it feels very luxurious on my hands and smells nice!

MAC Cham Pale Lavender Lip Conditioner MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

MAC Cham Pale Lavender Lip Conditioner2 MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

MAC Lip Conditioner SPF 15 + Lavender is a nice lip balm with a very mild lavender scent.

Confession: I am a Lip Conditioner JUNKIE. I use the regular stuff on a daily basis a million times a day. I cannot even count how many containers I have been through in the last year since Karen at MBB turned me onto it. I LOVE it and can say it’s hands down the best lip balm I have ever used. So needless to say I will probably love this as well.

I was a little apprehensive about the lavender scent because I was worried it would be too much. I have had experiences in the past where a lavender scented hand lotion made me extremely nauseous. But this is mild, so it’s alllll good. icon smile MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

Overall:

I didn’t get a chance to review every single item in this collection, but from what I did review I loved pretty much everything. I like that nothing is boring and plain here. We have tons of light-reflecting, shimmery products and I think everyone should be able to find something here that they like.

This collection is available on the MAC Pro website now and will be available everyone in North America on December 26th, and Internationally in January 2011.

Please let me know your thoughts on this collection, comments DO MATTER to me! icon smile MAC Cham Pale Collection for Winter 2011

Oh and stay tuned for the nail polish swatches shortly!!

GREAT swatches, thank you :) I really want one of the Beauty Powders, but cannot decide between them for the life of me! The Comfort Cream looks interesting too…I keep telling myself to save my money for Peacocky, but it’s not working!

Thank you so much for all of your reviews today! They’re really helping me make a lot of purchasing decisions :) . Thought I only wanted Chilled on Ice paint pot from this collection; now, I want ALL of the paint pots. So gorgeous. I have become such a cream-shadow junkie in the past few months…

I definitely want to try those highlight powders… they seem like a good choice for someone with really pale skin (like me!). I also want to try out I Get No Kick, the champagne-y eye kohl… I saw pictures of other bloggers using it to line their lower lash line, and it seems like it really brightens their eyes up!

Thank you so much for taking all this time to write and do swatches! I have been really wanting Chez Chez Lame but I haven’t found a pic that matches the description. And yours does!! I will be buying for sure! This collection is right up my alley!

I’m much more interested in this collection than I thought I would be. Love those paint pots. Great swatches. I’ve never tried the Lipgelee’s. Like the last shade.

OMG! Im more of a color girl except I really love a nude lip but all of these colors are simply georgous! Those lip gelee’s are to die for and they all look so beautiful on you. You cant go wrong with any of those I just hope they look as good on me, I have olive skin and it is hard to find the right lip color. I will be buying something from this collection even if it is just a lip gelee.

I’ve got so much lip gloss still to get through, and I have 3 of the 4 colours in the eyeshadow quad already, so I’ll be giving those a miss. However, I can’t wait for this to come to the UK as I’m wanting Dangerous Cuvée and Vintage Selection, despite having heard that the glitter in them tends to migrate all over the face – I’m hoping a good primer will help with that. I might also be tempted with Rose Olé, but with Stylishly Yours coming out at the same time, and Peacocky not long after, I might have to leave that one.

  • I went to my local MAC counter to check out the new goods today! I can’t believe how much fun stuff is in these two collections.
I ended up grabbing Feline, Luxure & Chilled on Ice. It was interesting too, because while I was excited for this collection from the start, I ended up buying products I didn’t expect. Pleasantly surprised. :) Might go back for a few more things too.

  • I bought a few things from this collection. My two favorite items are the moisturizer and Dangerous Cuvee paint pot. I really love the grey paintpot, Dangerous Cuvee. I blend it on the lids and just above the crease with a MAC 217 fluffy dome brush. I use Feline to line my upper waterline and smudge it out with a dark grey shadow by Youngblood Cosmetics called Storm. It is a really nice shimmery grey daytime smoky eye look. During this time of the year my face is dry and this moisturizer, although a little thick, works great! I smooth it on my cheeks, chin and just below the jawline. My face is so smooth with no dry patches! I am definitely going to include this moisturizer in my makeup kit for clients. I love it!!!
