Estee Lauder’s limited edition Pure Color Wild Violet Makeup Collection by Creative Director Tom Pecheux has me ITCHING for spring people!

Untamed

Untamed

Untamed Violet

Untamed Violet

Untamed Violet, Untamed
Untamed is a gorgeous violet with perhaps a bit of cornflower blue in it. It’s a medium color with very fine gold shimmer. It wasn’t super pigmented, but pretty good after just a couple swipes.
Untamed Violet is also a violet/cornflower blue color but deeper than Untamed. It has a really nice texture, feels smooth and glides on very easily. The other end of the liner has a smudge sponge, which can come in handy for blending it out when you want to.
Both of these are SO pretty and are my favorite spring-time colors.

Long Lasting Lipstick

Wild Violet, Wild Fire

Wild Violet, Wild Fire
Wild Violet is a shiny pink/purple color with medium coverage. It has a little blue and pink shimmer in it, but it’s not that noticeable once applied. It went on a bit sheer at first but built up nicely. It looks a lot darker and more purple in the tube than it applies.
Wild Fire is a coral/red creme color and a bit more opaque than Wild Violet is. It screams spring!

Lip Gelée

Electric Violet, Electric Coral
The Lip Gelée’s are sheer, shiny, juicy looking glosses that correspond nicely with the lipsticks.
Electric Violet is a sheer violet and Electric Coral is a barely pigmented light coral.
They feel pretty nice, just a very slight stickiness to them. Considering how sheer these are I probably wouldn’t wear them alone because I prefer more color. But they would work very nicely over the lipsticks or something else.

Wild Storm

Wild Storm

Wild Storm
Wild Storm is a deep metallic charcoal grey with some green/pink/blue fine shimmer. The shimmer isn’t that noticeable unless you look pretty close up.
The formula was pretty good though a bit sheer and watery at first. I wasn’t sure this would build up to an opaque color, but after three coats it looked great. You can see very minor brush strokes, but by no means would I classify it as a streaky polish.
I don’t think this is necessarily a totally unique color, but it’s still really pretty and I love me some dark grey polishes!
Overall:
This is a really nice collection and it certainly has me thinking about spring. My favorite pieces here are definitely the eyeliner and the Untamed eyeshadow. The lipsticks feel and look really nice and the nail lacquer is very pretty. Unless you are a lover of sheer, shiny lip colors, you might not love the Lip Gelée’s.

What do you think about this collection?

Grey seems to be the nail color of the season – Chanel, Dior and Estee Lauder all have grey polishes for spring!

Untamed and Untamed Violet will definitely be mine and maybe Sugar Cube as I’m hearing a lot lately about white eye shadows for Spring and Summer. Thanks for the review – these are quite nice!
Great post VV! I was wondering.. I have Chanel black pearl.. How does it compare to Wild Storm? They look a little similar, no?
Hi Kristina,
Black Pearl has a strong green flash to it and Wild Storm doesn’t at all.
Untamed Violet is a gorgeous pencil color!
What deep charcoal has multi-color shimmer in it that you think looks best?

Hi Phyrra,
Isn’t it!? I love it
Untamed violet liner is very pretty. The Wild Violet lippie looks great in the tube!

Hi Jenni,
I agree I am in love with that liner
Wow, great collection.
The violet lipstick looks great. I would love to see you wearing it!
The eyeshadow palette looks very “me”, too

Untamed is gorgeous! So is Untamed Violet, but I can’t get away with eye liner. I’ve yet to find one that doesn’t make my eyes look a lot smaller.
Hi Amber,
Really? Where are you putting the liner, if you don’t mind me asking?
Ohhh, purple! So neat! I’d love to have eyeshadow and eyepencil, they look gorgeous. But the nail polish really isn’t my cup of tea. Luckily, I’d say, it costs a fortune.

Hi Ulmiel,
I know I am a sucker for purple anything also!
Electric Coral looks scary neon in the tube! Hmm…it’s disappointing when they look so pigmented in the packaging and then it goes on really sheer. Not that I would be daring enough to wear neon orange on my lips!

Hi Mary,
Well actually it does look bright but you can also see it’s a sheer jelly-like texture inside the tube also, so I didn’t expect it to be that pigmented. Plus when it’s called “Gelee” it’s usually more of a color wash.
I looooove Untamed, and it would work so well with my hazel eyes!

Looks like a dupe of Chanel “Black Pearl”
Hi Jackie S,
Nope it’s not, there is no green flash to it.
Love those lipsticks. Wild Violet is really pretty. I like the shimmer in it.
Untamed Violet looks so luscious! I can’t wait to see it in person at the counter.
I’m w/Amber. I’m not a big eyeliner person either. my eyes are already large..and it makes them look..larger..and not in a good way to me.
