VV Friday Poll
Friday again, woot! The day I look forward to alllll week. But I realized that when all you do is look forward to the weekend, your life sure goes by in a flash! This is why kids today need to do what they truly love for work so you don’t wind up wishing away your life. 
But enough of the life lessons and onto the poll!
- How was your week? Pretty bleak. Website was down most of the week, stress at work, etc. Kind of wishing this year would hurry up and end!
- Whatcha wearing on your nails today? Dior Aztec Chocolate
- What’s your favorite sound? Cats purring
- Any fun weekend plans? Not really. I plan on looking into getting a new website host and maybe re-organizing my nail stash
- Adidas, Puma, Vans or Converse (or something else)? Was into Vans when I was younger. Have been heavy on the Chuck Taylors for a few years now, but they are killing my feet. Too tight in the toe-box and no cushion. Might have to switch back to Puma. If you know of a super comfy & stylish sneaker tell me about it I need some!

- What’s your favorite cheese? I think goat cheese might be my fav, though I am big on Havarti also
- What was the worst job you ever had? I worked at a large, very well known company (that makes bleach and other products) as an admin, and it was just awful. WAY too corporate and old-fashioned for me. I quit after 5 months and was already trying to escape my first week in!
- What is your favorite kind of salad? I love a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing!
- What habit do you have that annoys yourself, but haven’t been able to stop? Eating whatever I want and not exercising. Bad, bad habit that I have gotten into since I started blogging. It’s just so easy to sit on my butt in front of the computer and not exercise. Doesn’t help that I loathe exercising.

6. Would you shave your head bald and not wear any makeup for an entire year for $25,000? The shaving my head bald part probably. I’ve shaved my head 3 times already, one of those times I actually BICed it, so that wouldn’t be a problem for me. The not wearing makeup is what I couldn’t do for such a paltry sum of cash.
7. What’s your favorite cheese? Any and all. The sharper and smellier the better!
8. What was the worst job you ever had? While I was in undergrad I did my practicum at the Controller’s office on campus because my major was accounting. Those were some of the vilest most unfriendly people I have ever had the displeasure of spending 8 hours with.
9. What is your favorite kind of salad? Cobb!
10. What habit do you have that annoys yourself, but you haven’t been able to stop? I procrastinate in the worst way. I wait to do everything that’s important till the very last minute. It results in a lot of stress for me, but I can’t seem to change :’(

Mmm Parmesan is so yummy. My latest obsession (thanks to Karen at MBB) are these portobello mushroom raviolis with olive oil, salt & fresh Parmesan. I could eat it like every day but Mr. VV is always “This AGAIN?” hahaha!

Sure, I’m already going makeup free most of the time (lazy) and hair grows. $25K isn’t a lot these days, but hey, that would boost the savings account and I’ve been thinking about changing my hair anyway…who’s offering and where can I sign up?

What was the worst job you ever had? I worked for CallWave as a temp…my job was to sit at a dark desk in the IT department and enter check payments of $5 and $10 dollars with a few higher ones in there for fun. There were HUGE STACKS OF THEM DAILY. It was boring, and the IT guys were goofy surfer dudes using instant messaging and thinking this “older” lady didn’t have clue what they were doing. It was so obvious, one would type-type-hit enter and the other would giggle, the other would type-type-hit enter and first guy would giggle then the cycle would repeat. It put a bad mark on my temping with that company, but after 3 days, I told them they had to replace me.

I’d have to say mine is eating too much and not exercising as well. A few years ago I dropped 25 pounds (I’m not overweight but I just felt sluggish), and golly that was hard to maintain!!! Now I just go with everything in moderation!

I’m with you, about 3 1/2 years ago before my wedding I worked out a lot and was eating great and went down about 15 pounds. Then BAM gained it all plus a little more back. Bleh.

1.)How was your week? Not great, these past two weeks have been hell. My Dad’s OTHER daughter came back to town out of the blue (havent heard from her in 3 months). She showed up at his door step at 9:00 pm on a Tues night, My dog that I have had for 14 years died on Wednesday, my husband left for town for work to come back for one night just to leave to again for another week. Hell pure hell!!!
2.)Whatcha wearing on your nails today? Right now I am wearing Chocolate Nut by Sally Hansen (very old color). Tonight I plan on changing it to Rubies for Rudolph by OPI.
3.)What’s your favorite sound? My husband’s voice; I love hearing him laugh, saying my name and my favorite is when he tells me he loves me!

8.)What was the worst job you ever had? I once offered to help an “Older lady” she had a broken arm and I felt so bad for her; I offered to help her with any chores or shopping she might need done. She told me she couldnt iron her clothes and asked me to help her with that, she would pay me for it. I assumed she lived by herself; I pulled up to this Mutli-Million Dollar mansion and walked in; she told me she would pay me 50 cents for each shirt and 75 cents for each pair of slacks I ironed; I was there for over 2 hours! The whole time I was there; her and her husband were watching tv on the couch. I was iroining all his stuff too, hardley any of hers! I dont know why he couldnt do it himself or why she couldnt take it to the cleaners? Its not like they couldnt afford it. So I finally get finished, she made me re-iron like 3 shirts, beacuse the collars weren’t exact and I got paid like 15 dollars. Except all she had was a 20 and wanted change back. I never carry cash; so her husband came to my work the next day to collect the 5 dollar change… UGH!!! What a nightmare!!! I felt totally used and taken advantaged of.

What was the worst job you ever had? Working at CompanyNameRedacted (an itty bitty company). I was creating real estate forms in Adobe Acrobat. I was egregiously underpayed, the boss was verbally abusive to all his employees, and I had to take any job I could (dot-com-bust). When I finally got something else, I was so THRILLED!! (And it was a job in another toxic environment…but my income tripled, so I stuck with that for two years.)
What is your favorite kind of salad? I don’t know that it has a name: but I start out with Romaine lettuce and baby spinach, add shredded lightly seasoned chicken and cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, garbanzo beans, and seasoned almond slivers.
What habit do you have that annoys yourself, but you haven’t been able to stop? Cynicism. I cannot believe that society can be non-asshat-ish. Sadly, no one’s been able to prove me wrong. It makes being sociable…difficult.

Yeah insurance sounds pretty darn dry! Part of the reason I hated the job I had at XXXXXX was because it was in the finance department and numbers bore me to tears!
1. How was your week? Pretty good! I had off yesterday, so that was nice.
2. Whatcha wearing on your nails today? I’m about to put on RBL Recycle! I got it in the 50% off sale, along with Bikini Bottom. My first RBLs!

Fingers: Nothing yet. I had put on Sephora’s house brand polish in “Violet Amethyst” last night, which looked like a wine-toned purple with a lovely shimmer in the bottle. On my nail it was a winey-brown almost creme where the shimmer was visible only in the strongest light. I HATED it so I took it off late last night and haven’t had time to put on anything else.
I’m doing my toes in NYC Skin Tight Denim Creme because even though it’s not a creme, it’s pretty much my favorite navy blue polish ever.
3. What’s your favorite sound?
Listening to nature. Wind in the trees, gentle rain, a few birds. With lots of silence in between.
4. Any fun weekend plans?
Sadly, no.

Great, got to fly up to Auckland for a training day and managed to snag a couple of MAC nail polishes at the trendy city department store cos the work thing finished early!
2.Whatcha wearing on your nails today?
One of my new MAC’s – Style Clan. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
3.What’s your favorite sound?
Cowbells in rock songs … always need more cowbell!
4.Any fun weekend plans?
No – totally chilling

I can’t let go of Doc Martens ….
6.Would you shave your head bald and not wear any makeup for an entire year for $25,000?
No makeup? Sure, easy. Shaving my head would take a few more zero’s added to that figure!

Any kind of blue
8.What was the worst job you ever had?
Hard to say – cleaning at the vet clinic after school (think long ‘cow’ gloves and dirty animal cages) or early morning cleaning at a supermarket (and I mean EARLY!)

Pasta salad of any kind
10.What habit do you have that annoys yourself, but you haven’t been able to stop?
Always being early for things and having to wait for other people to arrive. Even when I try to be late or at least just on time, I’m still the first one to show.
I gotta have more cowbell!
1. How was your week? stressful, so much hw and school stress trying to get things figured out so i can graduate in june

3. What’s your favorite sound? rain.. but not jsut rain.. specifically walking up in the middle of the night to the rain.. pouring rain
4. Any fun weekend plans? well my brother came to visit me last night and spent the night and hes still ehre now for the night so thats the only fun thing.. tomorrow morning is work and school work sat and sun
5. Adidas, Puma, Vans or Converse (or something else)? very into chuck.. i have black, grey, and a holo pair :0 love, love, love. and im not a big fan of vans except the only black velcrow pair i have.

8. What was the worst job you ever had? ive only had 4 jobs.. i worked at the horse races (del mar tack in san diego) for 3 days as a hostess because i got sun poisioning from being in the sun too long in completely un-breatheable clothes
9. What is your favorite kind of salad? in general, cobb but subbed bleu cheese for feta but in particular i like the summer salad at the yard house… yummm
10. What habit do you have that annoys yourself, but you haven’t been able to stop? eating when im not hungry.. like because im bored or craving something or just feel like eating for no reason but im not actually hungry.. i really to stop that cause it drives me nuts!!

8. What was the worst job you ever had? Calling people up and asking for money, and so many of them were laid off and had serious money issues. I felt horrible asking for money! And it didn’t pay too well…
9. What is your favorite kind of salad? My Mama’s Chicken or Potato salad.
10. What habit do you have that annoys yourself, but you haven’t been able to stop? Haha, there are too many to list. I annoy myself all the time.

OOOh, I was a Chuck Taylor gal too, but I had the same problems that you did, so I stopped wearing them. Now I “run faster and jump higher” in glorious PF Flyers, (‘center lo’ low top), and I have never been happier! They have the famous “Posture Wedge”, which is actual arch support- so rare in a low top. And they understand their own retro coolness, which is pretty swell. LOVE ‘em.
