Yowza, I can’t believe that in one week Thanksgiving will be over and we’ll be truckin’ fast towards Christmas! But it’s all good since I only work 2 days next week, yay!

- How was your week? Indescribably long and a bit stressful work-wise
- If you celebrate Thanksgiving, are you hosting or is someone else? Planning on cooking everything? It’s just me ‘n’ Mr. VV this year and I’m doing the whole shebang! I’m not a fan of pumpkin pie, but Mr. VV is so I’ll probably do that along with my “famous” Italian stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped water chestnuts and everything else. We are going to be eating for a month, haha!

- What is your favorite kind of jewelry to wear? I love most jewelry, but I love chunky rings and weird funky or large necklaces best
- Do you have a favorite “fall” drink? No, I have tried and tried all those special fall coffee drinks at Starbucks, but I think they all taste awful

- What are you currently reading? The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb. I am only 55 pages into it and am HOOKED. Loved all his other novels also
- Have you ever done anything totally daring, like skydive or bungee jump, etc.? Is ice skating considered daring? If so then yes.
I’m not a huge fan of heights so I think I might rather cage dive with a great white than skydive. Then again I have a “thing” about not breathing on my own also, so cage diving wouldn’t work either. I’ll stick with sitting on my couch - Have you ever had a crush on a cartoon or otherwise animated character? Cutter from Elfquest was so cute when I was younger. I love that whole series and I’m not really even a comic book person!
- If you are a dog lover, do you prefer large, medium or small breeds? I prefer medium to large dogs (40+ pounds). I think a lot of small dogs are cute, but they seem either too hyper and yappy, or so small they don’t seem like dogs. If my cats can beat it up, it’s not really a dog to me, haha

Yay for the roof!! We had ours re-done about 3 years ago (it was 20+ old wooden shake) and it looks so fabulous.
First, I have to say, I ADORE Wally Lamb. The Hour I First Believed is the one I haven’t read yet but it’s on my list. He’s so amazingly talented. He actually teaches at my state university.

I am impressed about the shark diving. What kind of sharks were you around? I am obsessed with great whites; they are a huge fear of mine but I also love watching shows about them.

Black tip reef sharks – they weren’t super huge (5-6 feet) or threatening, but there were a lot of them in the water with us (the water was chummed). A lot of sting rays came around too and they were way more aggressive than the sharks. I think the IDEA of swimming with sharks sounds scarier than actually doing it.
I’d love to do a cage Great White dive…but I’m sure I’d be scared out of my mind!
Ok maybe the string rays would scare me more, actually. Yeah I most definitely would be terrified to even be in a boat with a great white near me. Have you read Devil’s Teeth? It’s so good, all about the great whites near the Farrallon Islands.

This past summer I was in the Canadian Rockies- A friend and I rented mountain bikes and biked along these highways with descending slopes so steep I’m amazed we stayed upright. I’d never biked like that before, it was exhilarating.

Excellent. My training continues, and last night I was officially allowed to be on the radio. I got to run plates and licenses all night for police who were pulling people over.

Without getting into details, I lived on my own in a very politically destablized area of the world when I was in my twenties. I took a lot of risks, but met amazing people. It was completely worth it.

Wow 911 call center, sounds exciting! I would be so nervous to do a job that was so on the spot like that. But then again I guess you do get trained for it!
Yep, training goes on for quite a while. In some centers there are call takers and dispatchers, and the functions are separate, but I live in a rural area where we are responsible for about 57,000 people spread over an area the size of the state of Delaware, so we do it all, for police, fire, and EMS. Before I started this job I worked nearly four years as an EMT and I’ve taken close to 500 rides in the ambulance, but police stuff is all new to me. This week people keep hitting bears with their cars so for their sake I’m glad bear season opened today!

I was heavily into figure skating also when I was between ages 10-13. I skated 4 times a week with 3 different instructors, and didn’t even have to take PE in 7th grade b/c I skated so much. My goal was to be in the Olympics, but then I became a teenager…

Uhm, I’ve done rafting, and that was pretty daring for me. I’m afraid of heights, so I can’t imagine skydiving or bungee jumping.

Large breeds! I have a standard poodle Phaedra, and recently we adopted a pug, Maximus. Pugs are apparently not dogs at all, but goblins. Seriously though, pugs seem to have big dog spirit in a little dog body. Still, not as cool as Phaedra.

Oh, apologies Kelly- I forgot to add for Question # 8: Just to let you know I got sick on the way down from the tandem sky dive and the instructor who I was strapped to fell on me when we landed, LOL!
I also have gone “white water rafting” (everyone should try this one), during a Club Med vacation back in the late 90′s, “attempted a circus like trapeze catch”…we had to leave the next day and I just missed another day of practice, otherwise I might have completed a “successful catch” zooming down a “zip wire” on a High Ropes Course; plus climbing a 50 ft. (curvy and bent) telephone pole, (“pamper pole) and jumping for a trapeze successfully.
