Sephora by OPI Nail Colour for Holiday 2010 Swatches & Review

Sephora by OPI has some new limited edition colors out for holiday, a few of which I have for you today.
The new colors are:
- Merry Me! – Opaque cranberry red with red and silver fine to medium glitter (Limited edition)
- Sample Sale – Opaque metallic warm candy apple
- Only Gold For Me – Clear with chunky and micro gold glitter
- Flurry Up! – Clear with chunky fine and silver glitter (Limited edition)
- Looks Like Rain Dear – Opaque gold with fine and chunky iridescent glitter (Limited edition)
- What’s Your Point-Settia? – Opaque metallic burgundy (Limited edition)

Merry Me
Merry Me is a bright cranberry red base with tons of red and silver micro glitter. This is a glitter I would actually wear, hallelujah! Normally I am not that big on glitters with clear bases, but since this has such a pretty red base, I can wear it as it. It was pretty opaque also, this is just two coats and I got great coverage. The glitter is pretty small so it didn’t feel chunky and gross. A top coat over it would probably completely smooth this one out. Very holiday-esque!

What’s Your Point-Settia?
What’s Your Point-Settia? is a gorgeous, deep burgundy red with lots of red and gold shimmer. This is a beautiful lit-from-within color and it just might be one of my favorite reds now. I wasn’t expecting to like this much but I REALLY do. I love the deep red and gold combo and the glowy effect is so pretty. It’s a perfect holiday color. The coverage was really nice, though I used three coats for complete opacity.

Flurry Up!
Flurry Up! is a clear base with micro and chunky hexagonal glitter. This is the kind of glitter I probably wouldn’t wear, as opposed to Merry Me. The glitter chunks didn’t want to stay in place, so as I wiped the brush up my nail the larger chunks tended to move towards the tip. Kind of annoying. Also you definitely have to wait a few minutes in-between each coat since it does want to move a lot. A few of the pieces I had to “place” with my finger. I don’t have the patience to deal with glitters like this, which is why it wasn’t my favorite one. This was three coats.

Overall:
I wound up liking Merry Me and What’s Your Point-Settia? a lot more than I expected and if you are a red lover, then I think you will also really like them. I would skip Flurry Up! unless you are a huge glitter or silver fanatic.

How are you feeling about these colors folks?

I like ‘Merry Me’ much more than I thought I would! I might have to go pick it up!
Merry Me seems similar to China Glaze’s Ruby Pumps, which is what I’m planning to wear for Christmas day, so I think I’ll have to skip this one!
Your swatches are totally getting me into the holiday mood! I picked up the “Flurry Up!” and “Point-settia.” “Point-settia” is such an excellent deep red. Like cranberry-sauce! I like “Flurry Up!” layered over other things. I believe “Merry Me” is online-only…your swatch is making me want that one too, though I don’t know if I’ll even have a chance to wear it. Have a good Monday! p.s. Loving the macro shots of these polishes…like little works of art. Well done.
I love both reds! The silver is a pass for me.

I am not a huge red person, but I really like both of these reds a lot! And even though I’m sure everyone thinks it’s cheesey, but I love the name “What’s Your Point-Settia?”

Hi, I am totally loving your website! I actually tried on the “flurry up” in stores and i wasnt too happy with it either. But i do LOVE “whats your point-settia?”
I got both of the reds in my F&F order and ended up liking them more than expected as well. I almost didn’t get Point-settia, and was so glad I did when I received it! I passed on the chunky silver glitter as well, once you have one, do you really need another? Nope!
From the descriptions I’d actually like to see what Sample Sale looks like.
From these I think I like What’s Your Point-Settia? the best, from the pic before the cut I thought it would be a duochrome!

What’s Your Point-Settia is a gorgeous red, the gold sparkle really makes it special. The other 2 I could pass on though to me Flurry Up is meant to be purely a layering polish.
I like What’s Your Poin-Settia the best. Lovely colors!

Merry Me and Poinsettia <3 so pretty!

Love all these colors, even the Flurry Up, which I layered over Kitty Loves Black (one of the SOPI Halloween colors) for a Lippmann style manicure.
Merry Me really reminds me of a more grown up version of China Glaze’s Mrs. Claus. I think I’ll have to add Merry Me to my collection.
point setia is AMAZING!!

Merry Me looks so festive! Love the macro shot where you can really see the glitter in detail.
Flurry up stinks! The others are really pretty. I’m not going to buy these since I have so many others like them.
Love Love Love What’s your Point-saettia…gorgeous
Love what’s your point-saettia! Flurry Up seems like a fail.
“Flurry Up!” is my absolute favorite. I use it as a topcoat. It looks absolutely gorgeous over deep purples, blues, pinks, etc. Really anything. I love the gold version they have as well. I only apply one coat as a topcoat, so I didn’t experience any of the dragging issues you had.

I really like all of these! I have Only Gold for Me, which I love to use for layering, and I think I’m going to have to get Flurry Up as well. I wouldn’t wear it on its own, though.

I went to check out the new collection at Sephora yesterday. None of the colors were all that exciting EXCEPT for Looks Like Rain, Dear. It’s like gold in a bottle! It’s really beautiful. It does dry matte and a rough like most glitters do but a top coat will make it shine.
