NP Set Holiday Smoke Signals Eye Palette

Have you seen some of the fabulous holiday makeup collections that Target has to offer? Well I was perusing my local Target recently and saw allll kinds of things I wanted to get my mitts on, so I picked up a few.

One stand-out item is the NP Set Smoke Signals eyeshadow palette. This cute little set has 12 shimmery colors inside that run from dark to light and opaque to sheer.

This is my first experience with a set of NP shadows (though I do have a single one I love) and I was pretty impressed, especially for the price!

First row

Deep, opaque purple with fine gold glitter, dark silver with fine gold glitter, medium cranberry red shimmer, light frosty white with white glitter.

The first three here were very pigmented and felt extremely soft and nice. The white one was also pretty nice, but maybe not quite as opaque. I absolutely love the first one and third ones here!

Second row

Dark forest green with fine gold glitter, pale lavender shimmer, light taupe with fine orange glitter, pale champagne shimmer.

For some reason this row wasn’t as pigmented as the first one. The green was a bit patchy and the other three are more on the light/sheer side. All felt very soft and nice though.

Third row

Dark charcoal grey with fine gold glitter, medium purple with pink glitter, dark warm chocolate brown with fine orange glitter, medium peach shimmer.

This row was back to being nice and pigmented, like the first. All four of these colors were fabulous, but I especially like the first and third.

This dark chocolate brown one is what I was wearing on the outer corner of my eye the other day in my NARS Etrusque post. They work together really nicely!

Overall:

Color me impressed with this palette. While some of the colors didn’t give me the payoff I hoped for, the majority did and they all had a great texture. They feel like expensive good quality shadows. I recommend this palette not only because the nice colors but also 12 eyeshadows for 10 bucks is pretty darn good!

Have you tried any of the holiday stuff for Target yet?

It reads just great, it’s definitively going on my list for a friend that’s going to the USA. The list is getting longer every time I read this blog, if you get a beg letter to stop posting about make up, it’s probably her. ;) I’m just kidding. :D Is this limited edition or do I stand a chance on getting it a month later?

      Hi Ulimel,

I have a feeling it’s limited edition, but not positive. Stay tuned for more from Target like more NP and some Pixi, eeeekkkk! :)

I purchased this palette and I have to say for the money, I’ve really been enjoying it. Thanks for the review – I always love your reviews on makeup. I didn’t pick up the Pixi so I’ll look forward to your review ;)!

I’ve been avoiding holiday shopping like the plague, but when I finally venture out, I’ll definitely check this out!

Did you see the ELF limited edition holiday sets, palettes, and kits? I got the 32 eyeshadow palette for only $5 and so far I’m very pleased with it. It’s medium pigmentation but buildable and has good staying power once it’s on. I missed out on the 100 eyeshadow palette for $10, that one sold out.

I think the palette you reviewed is limited edition for the holidays too, I saw that one and Pixi, and the display seemed like it was meant for holiday gift giving ideas. Ulmiel, is there any possibility that whoever your friend is staying with could pick this up at Target for her/you?

Target is now scaring me. I spend enough there on home supplies. Now my makeup source?! Better bring more money! I got the $10 ELF palette and couldn’t be happier. This little one packs some punches right to the eyes. :)
