Eyeko Cream with Extra Glow Review

Eyeko Cream Eyeko Cream with Extra Glow Review

Do you ever feel like you need a little extra something special to brighten your skin? Look no further than Eyeko’s Cream with Extra Glow.

This product is billed as a highlighter, moisturizer (I really need to start using an “s” instead of a “z”, as per the British way) and eye cream. I beg to differ with two of those statements, but you can get glowy…

I would say this is a really good highlighter but would make a terrible moisturizer or eye cream.

First off the product isn’t exactly moisturizing. In fact it’s a little on the dry side. And quite frankly I’m not so sure I want my entire face glowing like a disco ball. I exaggerate, but you get my meaning.

As for using on the eye area I would avoid that as well. Adding something super shimmery and light around your eye is only going to draw attention to any dark circles, bags, fine lines, etc. that you might have, and who wants that?

The key to using this is as a highlighter in a small amount.

The areas where I apply this is on my cheek bone above my blush and then on my temples. It’s nice because when you turn your head and the areas catch light, you can see it, but it’s not glaringly obvious.

Unblended

You can see it’s pretty bright and “glowy” when it’s unblended. It’s not very pink looking once it’s blended in, but it’s definitely a cool, icy kind of look.

Blended

Once you blend it in, it’s fairly subtle. Something to note is that because the product is on the dry side (at least on my skin) it does take a tiny bit of work to blend it in so you don’t see obvious lines of where you placed it.

Overall:

I recommend it if you aren’t already using another similar cool-toned highlighter. I prefer Benefit’s High Beam just because I like the bottle better and it blends a lot easier. This is a huge amount of product though, so cost-wise it’s a good deal.

Do you use a highlighter and if so, which is your favorite one?

I almost bought this on my last order, but I let my cart sit too long and it got cleared, so I forgot to add it in again. I already have Benefit’s High Beam, so I think I’ll just stick with that since I’m not the best ‘blender’ in the world. So glad you reviewed this so I don’t have to be too sad I forgot to grab it up. Maybe I will at some point, who knows, lucky for my I have oily, not dry skin, maybe it will work better for me in that respect.

    • Hi Winnie,

Yeah I think High Beam is a bit better than this one. I can’t imagine I would ever go through a tub this large of a highlighter since you don’t need much, but it’s good to have! This would probably work great on oilier skin since it’s dry-ish.

  • I don’t get this product either, it seems to have such a huge amount of it on this pot…Haven’t seen many good reviews about it either…

I don’t really like higlighters since my skin is combination and Brazil is really humid…My skin will get “highlighted” naturally anyways…

    • Hi Sarah B.,

I know it is a huge pot and unless you are using it as a moisturizer (and looking like a glow-worm) it would take a loooooong time to get through it all!

I agree that it’s way too much product. Unless your wearing something bare and use it on your shoulders, arms and legs. I have Benefit and a few other products. I don’t use them all that often. Nice to read about this product even though I wouldn’t order it.

    • Hi Lucy,

That’s true, you could use it on your collarbone, etc. Not my preference but it’s an option.

Thanks for the review. I have mixed reviews about Eyeko products. I always like what they’re trying to do, but for me their products are almost always come up a little short.

  • I only ever use Vaseline as a highlighter. I use the same small tin that I use for my lips (and use it on my nose when it gets all red and dry when I get a cold) and I’ve had it for about 3 years and it’s still going strong! Such a must-have!
