Attention matte nail polish lovers! The coolest matte white nail polish I have ever had the pleasure to try out has been recently released by ManGlaze and it’s called Mayonnaise.

For me a white matte polish can be tricky. I am really not into the chalky or White-Out look on my nails so a lot of time they just don’t work out for me. However this has just the slightest satiny texture and subtle shimmer about it that makes it just perfection in my book.

The bottle doesn’t come in their regular nail polish size, rather a smaller bottle. I’m not sure if they plan on selling a standard size of this in the future. UPDATE: This does come in a full size bottle, mine was just a smaller version.

Compared to most white polishes, it had nowhere near the streakiness I normally experience when applying either. Score!

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is a pretty pure white but it doesn’t have a stark look to it. It’s really quite satiny and feels almost velvety once dried. I applied it over a base coat, as I always do no matter the finish of the polish. As with other matte’s it goes on shiny then dries to a duller finish. This was a little streaky, but as mentioned above not bad at all. There is just a super small hint of shimmer under there but you really don’t see it unless you add a top coat. I love this white, I think it’s probably one of my top 3 favorite white polishes now. This was three coats for a completely even look.

BB Couture’s Infamous Lovers collection is twelve colors in total with 6 being “the men” and 6 being “the women”.

I reviewed the men the other day and today I have the other half.

Normally I think of the women as being the better half (haha), but not in this case. While there are some colors here I like,  I am definitely feeling the men’s side much more.

I feel like some of the colors here just weren’t as saturated and deep as I would have liked. The formula was good, though a few did need three coats, and a couple were a little gritty without a top coat.

Pocahontas

Pocahontas is a medium taupe base with micro-glitter in silver and pretty sparse pieces of black glitter. I like this color, but kind of wish there was more of the black glitter to make it extra interesting. This went on a little sheer and seemed more watery than the others. This was three coats.

Hello,

I wanted to write an update of everything going on the last couple days since this whole Luuux copyright situation blew up earlier this week. Some of you might already know what’s going on but a lot of you who aren’t on Twitter might still be wondering the end result so here’s the scoop.

The person I wrote about the other day who’s name isn’t even worth mentioning anymore has been deleted from Luuux and received no payment. All her “points” were revoked though she tried to cash them out before they closed it with no success. So huge score on that one.

Since then myself and a few other beauty bloggers who I have been in contact with over email/Twitter have diligently been scouring the site looking for our and other people’s pictures. Scouring really isn’t the right word, more like just opening the Health & Beauty section and BAM, it’s literally covered with other people’s work. In the last 2 days I reported 18 individual users who were rampant thieves. At this point Luuux has realized the problem is so massive that just reporting individual photos isn’t enough. Those who are big offenders are having their accounts removed.

The interesting thing I have noticed is that of the people I have reported, most of them were between the ages of 14-16. According to the Terms of Service on Luux’s website they aren’t allowed to have accounts, so why is this happening?

“You acknowledge and agree that you are more than 18 years of age and are fully able to enter into the terms, conditions, obligations, acknowledgments, representations, and warranties set forth in these Terms of Service. You agree that you will adhere to and comply with terms set forth herein. As LUUUX is not intended for users under 18, you may not use LUUUX if you are under 18 years of age.

Maybe they just updated these terms this week and didn’t have a policy in place about age before this? I don’t know. Continue reading »

Happy Saturday!!

So by now most of us have seen the China Glaze ‘Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice holiday collection, so I thought I would have some fun.

One of the stand out colors is Party Hearty. It’s a glitter packed red, green & gold polish that is just BEGGING to be layered. I decided to layer it over other colors in this same collection so you can see how well they work together.
