ManGlaze Mayonnaise Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Attention matte nail polish lovers! The coolest matte white nail polish I have ever had the pleasure to try out has been recently released by ManGlaze and it’s called Mayonnaise.

For me a white matte polish can be tricky. I am really not into the chalky or White-Out look on my nails so a lot of time they just don’t work out for me. However this has just the slightest satiny texture and subtle shimmer about it that makes it just perfection in my book.

The bottle doesn’t come in their regular nail polish size, rather a smaller bottle. I’m not sure if they plan on selling a standard size of this in the future. UPDATE: This does come in a full size bottle, mine was just a smaller version.

Compared to most white polishes, it had nowhere near the streakiness I normally experience when applying either. Score!

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is a pretty pure white but it doesn’t have a stark look to it. It’s really quite satiny and feels almost velvety once dried. I applied it over a base coat, as I always do no matter the finish of the polish. As with other matte’s it goes on shiny then dries to a duller finish. This was a little streaky, but as mentioned above not bad at all. There is just a super small hint of shimmer under there but you really don’t see it unless you add a top coat. I love this white, I think it’s probably one of my top 3 favorite white polishes now. This was three coats for a completely even look.

You can see the slight shimmer when you zoom waaaaaay in. It reminds me of tiny snowflakes. icon smile ManGlaze Mayonnaise Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Adding a top coat just brings out the shimmer but doesn’t take away from the great color. I totally love this either way.

Overall:

I think this is a really amazing white and I love the texture. It could have gone horribly wrong, but they pulled it off beautifully!

You can find ManGlaze on their site here and the price is $13.13. I do find that high for a mini-bottle and kind of strange that the normal polishes are $6.66 but the mini is twice the price. UPDATE: I was incorrect, the full size bottle is $13.13.

Grade: A

Whaddya think?

I did a white mani last night and it was a NIGHTMARE, no wait a Whitemare!!! I had to redo it twice and I still am not hppy with it. I think it would be worth the 13 dollars if it is as good as you say it is… White polishes are very difficult… I love the “snowflakes” in this one too!

    • Hi Arlyn,

White mani’s are a HUGE problem, I agree. This is one of the least problematic white’s I have used yet!

I love this look, but I don’t like the polish name! It wouldn’t keep me from getting it, but I don’t really like mayonnaise to begin with, so it would be weird to look at my hands and think of it! I think I’ll try a matte topcoat with CG’s “Frosty” and see what happens.

    • Hi SB_Sweetie,

I am not a huge mayo fan either, I rarely eat it but I woudln’t let e name stop me from wearing a polish (unless it was called pedophile or something awful like that!)

Kelly, you totally sold me on this. I was planning to make this my first ManGlaze purchase until I read the price! and for a MINI, WTH?! I think I’ll stick to my Revlon Powder Puff!

Yay! It will be joining my collection after all. : ) I love mayonnaise, but only when it is freshly made. It’s a good thing I rarely do that!

  • I agree this one you made look good enough to eat…well so to speak wear! White nails are tough but this one with the slight shimmer I think I really want it and I went back and saw your swatches of their other colors I am impressed! Question what base coat do you recommend> I have this awful peeling issue with my nails and on the hunt for a base coat to smooth me out

I usually don’t like white polish. This one I do like. It’s more a satin than a matte. Like the shimmer in this one.

  • I really like this because it doesn’t look chalky. The subtle shimmer is also a really nice touch.

  • The color looks pretty but I do have to say that the names of polishes definitely play a huge role in me actually buying them. I don’t like the name (even though I like mayo) and I also don’t like the bottle design. So I would probably pass up on this color entirely just because I’m weird.

I wasn’t sure about this at first, but in the close-up where you can see the gentle glitter in it..yeah. That had me.
