Good morning!

I’ve got a quick post for you today so I can show you one of the new nail lacquers from MAC. This is from their huge holiday 2010 collection called A Tartan Tale.

In this collection there are two new lacquer colors, Style Clan and Sly as a Fox. Sly as a Fox is a mid-tone burnt russet creme.

MAC does a lot of things well, they have been my favorite brand since 1991 (wow that ages me) but nail lacquer hasn’t always been their best product. It tends to chip much faster on people than other brands can. I change my polish so often this isn’t really an issue for me. What I look for is an amazing color and consistency and this one pretty much fits the bill.

Style Clan

Style Clan is a dark brown taupe with coppery red flecks. Here what I love about this clor. First off the base color itself is a really deep taupe and I am a huge fan of that color, even though there are a lot of them out there now. I also just love the flakes in it! They aren’t too sparse and I’m really glad it’s not typical glitter. I think the combination looks very cool, it’s really unique and I can’t think of another color like it. The lacquer does start out really thin and a bit sheer so I was doubtful how the build-up would be. But after three coats it was opaque and perfect. Well done!

Stay tuned for a lot more MAC Tartan Tale swatches & review really soon!
