Eyeko Military, Chi Chi & Rain Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Eyeko Eyeko Military, Chi Chi & Rain Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Are you loving this season because of the rain? Perhaps you just bought a cool pair of camo military-print pants that are all the rage right now. Or maybe you have been invited to a really chi chi holiday party. Whatever your situation, Eyeko has you covered.

I know, that was really cheesy, but as I write this, I am running on 4 hours of sleep, have a bad headache, ankle-ache and just generally all-around am NOT feeling it, so I was stretching a bit. icon biggrin Eyeko Military, Chi Chi & Rain Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Let’s get this show on the road!

Eyeko Rain Eyeko Military, Chi Chi & Rain Nail Polish Swatches & Review
Rain Polish

Rain Polish is a pale almost robin’s egg blue, but not quite. It’s less bright and has a lot of grey to it with subtle silver shimmer. In a word, spectacular. This blue is the kind of blue I adore and always stare at when it’s on my hands. So flattering. It’s extremely opaque and you could almost get away with one coat, but I used two for full coverage.

Military Polish

Military Polish is a deep olive army green creme. Another gorgeous one. While I am not into camouflage, I do love other military inspired looks (jackets in particular) and this color is just perfect for right now. It’s super shiny though a little more sheer than Rain. I used three coats.

Chi Chi Polish

Chi Chi Polish is a pale milky pink base with rose colored pink glitter. Hmm at first glance I was not sold on this one, but after three coats and seeing it in photos I kinda dig it. I think I would like it more over a pink or other colored  polish better though because it does still have empty patches even after three coats.

Overall:

I like all three of these colors and think they all had pretty nice application. Rain was on the thicker side, but not unworkable and Military was on the sheer side but fine after three coats.

    • Hi maisenzasmalto,

It is really glossy even with no top coat!

  • I really love Military! I was hoping that RBL’s No More War could be a substitute for it (so I don’t have to get both!!) but this looks much darker, which I prefer. Love Military!

    • Hi Varnish Vixen,

No More War rocks. I always want all these olive polishes even though some of them are so close in color :)

It’s the glittery one, Chi Chi, that’s calling out to me. I seem to have a thing for glittery nail polishes lately – I’ve gone a bit overboard in buying them

    • Hi Dawn,

Well there are definitely a lot of good glittery ones out there lately, so can’t say I blame ya!

Rain is so gorgeous. Like little Robin’s eggs! I like Military, too. So glossy.

    • Hi SB_Sweetie,

Yeah I am totally enamored with Rain. That blue color always draws me in with polish, clothing and everything. Sigh.

What stores carry Eyeko? I’ve never seen it in stores.

      October 28, 2010
      • HI Sb_Sweetie,

Ok well maybe it should have said “stores in London” because that’s where I got my first ones, at a drug store there. :)

    • Hi Lisa,

      You are welcome.

  • Rain IS lovely. It’s my favourite light blue. Must get Military. Was hoping Illamasqua Rampage would mean I didn’t have to get the Eyeko but they are different. I’ll try Chi Chi again but it’s nothing special.

    • Hi Jen,

Yeah all the deep olives greens seem really similar but not identical. Which makes owning all of them a must for me, haha!

      October 28, 2010
  • Lovely swatches! I have Military and Rain but not Chi Chi, something about it doesn’t make it appealing to me. :(

I haven’t worn Military (yet) but I absolutely love Rain. I don’t even know why, but it makes me smile just looking at it! :)

I’ve been debating Pastel Polish from Eyeko as well, but I fear they might be really close with Rain…. haven’t found decent comparison photos yet.

But I might still get it on my almost successful quest to own all Eyekos. :)

I have all of these and love love love them. Rain has a particularly special place in my heart, it’s just so pretty. I love the cute little bottles to, and the ‘descriptions’ on each of them. Rain Polish ‘For City Nails’, lol. Too cute. I’m a sucker for a gimmick, it seems!
Do you have ‘Cosmic Polish, for Space Age Nails’ (hehe)? I’m dying to see a decent swatch of that!

*I love the cute little bottles TOO, oops, that’s a huge pet peeve of mine and I did it myself. I’m going to call it a typo though…. blushing…
