BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review

BB Couture’s Infamous Lovers collection is twelve colors in total with 6 being “the men” and 6 being “the women”.

I reviewed the men the other day and today I have the other half.

Normally I think of the women as being the better half (haha), but not in this case. While there are some colors here I like,  I am definitely feeling the men’s side much more.

I feel like some of the colors here just weren’t as saturated and deep as I would have liked. The formula was good, though a few did need three coats, and a couple were a little gritty without a top coat.

BB Couture Pocahontas BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review
Pocahontas

Pocahontas is a medium taupe base with micro-glitter in silver and pretty sparse pieces of black glitter. I like this color, but kind of wish there was more of the black glitter to make it extra interesting. This went on a little sheer and seemed more watery than the others. This was three coats.

BB Couture Juliet BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review
Juliet

Juliet is a medium rose pink with extremely subtle silver shimmer and again, very sparse black glitter flecks. I hate to say this but in all honesty I think this color is atrocious. I just completely abhor it for some reason. It reminds me of a really depressing color from the 1970′s. It doesn’t look good with my skin either. This was three coats.

BB Couture Cleopatra BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review
Cleopatra

Cleopatra is a blue/green with heavy light blue shimmer. Gorgeous and mermaid-y! It doesn’t remind me of Cleopatra, but it’s really pretty, so I could care less. This was really buttery and nice going on. This was two coats.

BB Couture Eve BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review
Eve

Eve is a mossy green base with heavy green and pink micro-glitter. This one had to grow on me because at first I wasn’t convinced. It goes on really thin, sheer and kind of ugly. But after three coats the base is deeper and even, and I like it. It’s definitely unique to their other greens (of which they have a million) so that’s always a plus. What I don’t love it is does dry a bit gritty. But a top coat will help resolve most of the texture issues.

BB Couture Carla BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review
Carla

Carla is a dark royal purple with heavy pink and more subtle light blue shimmer. I have 12,000 polishes in a color just like this or very similar. I love it, it’s so pretty, but it’s been done. This was two coats.

BB Couture Bonnie BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review
Bonnie

Bonnie is a medium, yet bright forest green with light green micro-glitter. I felt the same about this one as I did with Eve at first. It went on patchy and kind of icky, then after three coats it looked nice. I am more partial to deeper or olive greens myself, but this is pretty. This also has the gritty feel so you need a nice top coat. This was three coats.

Overall:

I like this collection but there was nothing here that I really fell in love with. I think the men’s half was much more interesting, saturated and unique than these ones. I think the must haves would be Eve and Cleopatra. I would completely avoid Juliet altogether. icon smile BB Couture Infamous Lovers Womens Collection Swatches & Review

  • I like several of these, but I agree that the men’s side is better in this case. How unusual! ;)

  • I loved the male side of this collection (Adam is swoon worthy), but these colors leave me kind of “meh”…I kind of like Pocahontas…wish it was wee bit darker, though.

Of your swatches, I like “Cleopatra” and “Carla” the best, though I know I have dupes. I agree that the men’s collection was a bit stronger this time around. Thanks for swatching!

  • The men’s polishes are usually a bit edgier. I like Eve, Pocahontas and (yes, I really do) Juliet. But their men’s polishes are pretty darned fabulous.

Eve and Cleopatra are already on their way, with 3 from the men’s side of the collection; Michael, Adam, & Romeo. I look forward to BB Couture’s collections. Thanks for your swatches.

  • I’m really disappointed by this collection. I agree the men’s side of this collection is awesome, but the women’s side just falls flat. I usually LOVE almost everything BB Couture puts out, but I feel very meh about this.

  • I like and have many of these (except Cleopatra and Juliet). I loved Carla. There’s probably something similar to it, but I still haven’t found it, so it satisfies me :) I really really like it.

I liked Juliet on you and I normally don’t like pinks.
I did like both collections a lot, but I agree with you, the men’s one was edgier…oh Michael how I love thee…

  • I like some of these, but I think I like the Men’s Collection much, much better than these. Although Cleopatra and Carla are nice.

I <3 Eve! In an odd way I see it being cousins with Pa Q21 and China Glaze Out on Safari. I love murky greens (or khaki in the case of OOS) with sea green shimmer and glitter.
