Color Club Untamed Luxury Diamond Collection for Fall 2010 Swatches & Review
Color Club‘s new Luxury Untamed collection is a 14 piece two-parter. Yesterday I showed you my favorite half which is called Indulgence. Today I have Diamond for ya.
These are more glittery finishes, but dare I say, not as interesting as Indulgence in my eyes…
The formula was great for some, didn’t pan out for others.

De-Luxe-Cious
De-Luxe-Cious is a silver/grey with multi-colored shimmer. The idea of this is great but the problem is that the glitter sinks into the polish and kind if disappears into it. It winds up looking chunky and not all that great. This was two coats.

Ms. Haute
Ms. Haute is a darker silvery grey with pink and green glitter. The same thing happens with this one as De-Luxe-Cious. The glitter just sinks in and falls flat here, not loving it. This was two coats.

Snakeskin
Snakeskin is a very cool green/grey with gold multi-colored glitter. I love this one because the color is unusual and the glitter stays on top of the color so you can see it and it’s not chunky looking. This was two coats.

Covered In Diamonds
Covered In Diamonds is a clear polish with odd shaped holographic chunks. Not a huge fan of this really. The polish was really thick and hard to work with. The glitter chunks tended to move around a lot and didn’t apply evenly. This was two coats.

Resort To Red
Resort To Red is a vivid ruby red with silver shimmer. This is super pretty and applied like butter. This was two coats.

Untamed Luxury
Untamed Luxury is a blue base with tons of teal glitter. It’s pretty cool if you are into glitters. It has really nice coverage, though I did need three coats and you can see my VNL. I think it would look really cool layered over something else.

Red Velvet
Red Velvet is a black base with red micro-glitter. Gorgeous, I always love these colors though it’s not that unique. This was a little on the sheer side so I used three coats.
Overall:
I think a few of these really missed with the formula, but there are some nice ones. The ones to snag in my book are Snakeskin, Resort To Red and Red Velvet.

How do you feel about these compared to Indulgence?

I love Resort to Red on you! I like Untamed Luxury and agree about layering it. =]
Hi Naomi,
Thanks! I don’t normally fall for reds like this, but it’s so pretty.
Red Velvet is nice but I’m opting for Eyeko Vampira instead
Hi Lucy,
Yeah they are super similar
Ugh. As a collection, this half is a bit disappointing. I love the Red Velvet, though! Laughing because today I have on RBL’s “Black Russian,” which is basically the same color as “Red Velvet!”
Hi SB_Sweetie,
Yep there are quite a few like Red Velvet. I agree, 1st half rocked!
Snakeskin is about the only one that really catches my eye, theough Untamed Luxury is pretty as well. I just don’t get Covered in Diamonds though, it’s not at all doing it for me. I’ve seen swatches of it layered over other polishes and even then it just looks weird.
Whoa. These colors are all over the place. It doesn’t look like a cohesive collection.
Red velvet is OK, but I prefer the eyeko version. Resort to Red is good value for $2.49, especially as it only needed 2 coats. Thanks for the swatches.

Ooh the first 4 polishes are gorgeous
Ms. Haute is so sexy! But it looks better in the bottle than on the nail. Untamed Luxury is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORGEOUS!

I adored Ms. Hautie in the bottle. I just wish it hadn’t gone so wrong on the nail. I wasn’t a fan of it on me, but Resort to Red looks beautiful on you.
