Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadows Swatches & Review

More from Sugarpill Cosmetics! This time I’ve got some of their pressed eyeshadows.
The pressed eyeshadows come in nine different bright colors. These are extremely vivid, opaque and really amazing.
Another bonus is they are Vegan. yay!

Buttercupcake
Buttercupcake is a bright matte yellow.

Love
Love is a bright red with a slight shimmery finish.

Afterparty
Afterparty is a bright turquoise blue with shimmery finish.

Midori
Midori is a bright green with a shimmery finish.

L to R: Love, Afterparty, Buttercupcake, Midori
You can see just how opaque and bright these are on my skin. Midori and Afterparty are a little more “wearable” in my eyes. They seem a little less bright, though still bright, and workable. I have mentioned before that I have never really used red eyeshadow before and that’s still true. I haven’t used a ton of yellow either, unless it was a yellow-green. But I am really dying to try these on to see how I can make them work for me.
Overall:
I love how satiny these are, they feel really great and seem very blendable. The colors are really saturated and pretty. The downside of these is that they are all fairly “extreme” colors, so if you are used to neutrals, then these might be a little over the top.

Do you ever wear eyeshadow colors like these? How would you use Love or Buttercupcake?

Wow, these looks so bright and cheery! Would love to see an eye look that you could come up with using the red and yellow. Those are hot!

I love the red(Love)! Not sure if I could pull it off though. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for swatching! I’ve never worn red eyeshadow either–would LOVE to see pictures if you do end up creating a look with Love! You could always try a rainbow eye …

These are all beautiful, especially that red! I’m not sure how I could use it though..

I would use the red (Love +) on the lid then in the crease put a shimmery purple color. Just have fun with it. There is no right or wrong way to wear make up.
These are definitely out of my comfort zone! Curious what look you come up with…
I love my Sugarpill pressed shadows. Sugarpill really got me to start wearing pressed shadows again because of their pigmentation. I had been spoiled by loose minerals, since they tended to have better payoff for me in the past. I love After Party the most, but Midori and Love+ are great too. Buttercupcake I find a bit difficult to wear because yellow in general is a hard color for me to wear. That said, I’m all for brights :>

“Love” is intense, I like it!

I think that there’s a way to work little pops of color into any eye design! That said, Buttercupcake looks a little chalky and patchy to me- that’s the only one I have my doubts about… thanks for the great swatches!
(Say, you don’t happen to know where these were made, do you?)
I meant: little pops of super INTENSE color… D’oh!
Hi ReaderRita,
The company is from Oakland, CA, and I believe they are made here in the Bay Area as well.
They are nice and all but I think that right now the market is FILLED with too many “funky” cosmetic brands!
You took the words right out of my mouth. When I looked at the first pic I thought exactly that “how could you possibly wear that red and yellow?” The look like face paints rather than eyeshadows! I would love to see how you wear them.

I really need to invest in some sugarpill products they are gorgeous!
This are so bright and beautiful. I too would love to see some eye makeup looks.
First, I have to say that I am in love with your blog!
I mostly wear what I call “loud, obnoxious” colours, thankfully I work in retail so I can get away with it!
I do shy away from anything with shimmer in it though, matte all the way!
You can always mute them with a wash of face powder over top or use a very light hand when applying the shadows.
