Sugarpill Loose Pigment Eyeshadows Swatches & Review

I am back at it again with the gorgeous, saturated, amazing Sugarpill loose eyeshadows! In case you missed my first review here it is for ya!

These are just as lovely as the ones I tested before. Super opaque and vivid colors. You only need the tiniest amount and it goes a long way.

There are of course issues with fallout, as with most loose shadows. Just make sure to tap off as much excess as possible and apply over a slightly “tacky” base like a MAC Paint Pot, which helps them stick to the lid.

Lumi is a bright white with a kind of opalescent sheen that turns blue and green. It’s really pretty on it’s own but over a blue or purple shadow, it’s amazing and can totally change the color of the shadow.

Overall:

These are really amazing colors and I love how they change depending on the light and angle. I love Lumi a little extra because it’s incredibly cool as a layering color.

  • For being pigments they don’t look very, well, pigmented to me. Could be the tacky base thing you mentioned. Have you tried them wet?

    • I was thinking the 2 on the right look pretty streaky/chunky myself.

    • Hi Styrch,

They are pigmented but my swatches might not be the greatest. I was using MAC wipes in-between swatching and I think the residue on my hand might have messed with the quality of the pigments. I haven’t tried them wet yet.

Goldiluxe is my absolute fave. Petrilude does a kickass tutorial with this pigment!

  • I love Sugarpill. Both the pressed and the loose variety offer great color payoff and pigmentation. I really think Amy went the extra mile when she had these colors developed. Plus, the packaging is definitely adorable.

These look cool. I’ve wanted to try this brand. Funny, though, I’m not a newbie to make-up, but pigments totally intimidate me!
