Benefit POREfessional Pro Balm Swatches & Review

Porefessional Box Benefit POREfessional Pro Balm Swatches & Review

Say hello to my (new) little friend! Benefit’s POREfessional Pro Balm is an amazing new product. Basically it is a translucent balm you apply wherever you have obvious pores showing, and it helps to conceal them.

The shizz works people!

Last time I was getting my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar, the woman doing my brows applied some of this over one half of my face. She handed a mirror to me and said look at this half compared to that half. I was blown away. The difference it made was pretty amazing. The half she applied it on looked so much smoother and really helped hide my (sorta large) pores. The other half of my face now looked horrific. Kidding. Kind of.

Not only did it work like magic on me, it feels really nice. It’s very silky and smooth. You can easily just apply it with your fingers, and it blends in quite nicely. Nice mild scent as well.

You can use it either under makeup or over it. I prefer to use it under just because I like it as a “base”. You only need a small amount, it spreads out pretty far.

The main areas on my face I apply it to are: above my brows and in-between, my nose, the sides of my nose near my cheeks, and the middle of my chin.

It’s completely translucent, so no worries about matching skin tone, it melts in and leaves no trace of color behind.

Overall:

I am really happy to have discovered this product! Before I tried it I had read some mediocre reviews about it and would never have bought it because of that. But products work on people in different ways, so what doesn’t work for one, may be perfection on another. Always try before you buy icon smile Benefit POREfessional Pro Balm Swatches & Review

  • I love this stuff! It’s definitely a great product… making regular pores go away and the really bad ones shrink. Benefit did a good thing with this product. :)

    • Hi ellemck1,

      I know, I don’t know how I lived without it before! :)

  • I’ll be checking that out at Ulta (the next time I have a coupon!)

Avon has a similar product that my mom happened to buy. We both really love it, as does a friend of mine. I believe it’s around 8 bucks. So, for those of us pinching pennies, it might be a good alternative. :)

I think I need this in my life! How does it blend with make-up (foundation or powder on top)? I’ve used Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood, which I like on it’s own, but it doesn’t blend well with powders on top, in my experience.

    • Hi SB_Sweetie,

I don’t use powder, but I do use foundation on top and it works fine for me!

  • Hey, I need this! This sounds like a great product as I need something to make my skin look a bit nicer and I don’t like wearing foundation. :)

I MUST get this. If it hides your pores and shrinks them as ellemck1 says, then it is fully worth the $28 my penny-pinching self is going to spend on it.

    • Hi Sonya,

It definitely helps hide them while it’s on, I didn’t notice any shrinking though. I have always heard you cannot shrink pores, it’s not possible, but they can be masked with certain products.

  • Nice find! I hate my pores (rawr) and I haven’t found a good product to help. I’ll have to see if I can sample this at Sephora. Thanks for sharing!

This sounds great. I think there’s an Urban Decay Primer Potion for people with large pores. I had a tiny sample and it was amazing. I do have large pores and this does work.

I’m curious, did it make you break out? I’ve tried a lot (seriously) of facial primers to hide my large and oily pores (Blurrrrgh!) And only two of the masses kept me zit free- Smashbox Photo Finish Light (but NOT the Photo Finish Oil Free, strangely enough) and Alison Raffaele Acne Response.
But so far, all of the ones I’ve tried do hide pores, it’s pretty miraculous. It’s just that some slide off of my face, and leave blemishes behind. It seems to me that some are better for dry/normal skin, and others combo/oily. I guess that makes sense.

    • Hi ReaderRita,

Nope no breakouts for me! It seems pretty oil-free throughout the day, and I do have a slightly oily t-zone.

Good to know! Thank you. I WISH my t-zone was slightly oily :) !

Ohhh, this sounds just like the cliniques Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector that I own and love. It’s really a great type of product and a lot better than most foundation-primers!

  • I’m gonna check this out the next time I get my brows done. Hopefully it works as great on me as it does on you.
