Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Pearl for Face

Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl is a gorgeous new golden pink highlighter that I fell for last week.
I was at the Benefit Brow Bar getting my brows done and minding my own business when BAM, the eyebrow tech applied this baby on my cheekbones and I was instantly smitten.

The scent is simply fabulous. Very raspberry but not too sweet or strong. Just right.

She comes in the same kind of packaging as That Gal Primer, a tube with a twist up product.

I have used a lot of different highlighters, and one of my favorite ones is another Benefit product called High Beam. I like this better because it’s got the golden hue to it. High Beam is more of an icy cool pink, whereas this one has a pink golden shimmer that is just super duper flattering. I think this would work with a lot more skin tones than High Beam.
The texture is really nice, it’s not sticky or greasy feeling at all. Just one twist definitely gives you enough product for your face. I prefer to either use my finger or a brush when applying rather than using it straight form the tube onto my face.
Overall:
Loving the shimmery glow I get on my skin, love the packaging and love the scent! It’s a win-win!

Will you be trying this baby? What’s your favorite skin illuminator?

That looks gorgeous… I think I’ll be trying that. Even though I’m not a fan of the applicator style… I always get too much out, or too little… this looks like it’s worth it!

Definitely something I’ll check out, assuming it comes to the UK. It’s a bit pricey, though
i love the color… too bad im allergic to rasberries
Oh wow, it looks beautiful paired with your skin tone! I’ve always wanted to try a highlighter, but it’s just one of those things that I’ve never bothered with. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it at Sephora.
What a pretty color! I almost bought High Beam, but I just can’t commit to the price! I think I’m highlighter shy, really. Is a highlighter really worth it to have all the time? Enlighten me, it’s something I don’t have in my kit yet!

Hi Allyssa,
I don’t wear mine all the time, mostly in the spring/summer. I love them because they are easy to apply and pretty fool-proof. It doesn’t take much time to apply, and looks really cool when the light hits you just right
Ohhh I like it a LOT
I already have high beam but… I might get this one too, I like that it’s more gold rather than silver
Hi Josiane,
Yes I agree, I think it’s more universally wearable than High Beam is.
I’d rather see it swatched on your pretty cheeks, but I’m not complaining about this swatch. =) Who wouldn’t want to buy this. I mean, the packaging is awesome. It kind of looks like those incense paper boxes. Yep, I fall for cute packaging.
My favorite illuminator at the moment is Revlon’s Skinlight. It’s discontinued, so I’ll have to find another one when I run out… This one looks really good. =)

Hi nihrida,
Awwww *blushes*
It’s a fabulous one AND smells really yummy!
Looks interesting. I have High Beam and Moon Beam and always love the effect of those. I also got the MAC Lustre Drops from the summer collection, so possibly, I am over-highlighted?! LOL. Definitely realizing I prefer liquid highlighters to powder now that there are a few lines on my face!
Hi SB_Sweetie,
I know I now have a ton of these highlighters also! Sometimes I feel like putting them on all at once so I can really be glowing, lol!
I saw this and almost got it but I just bought the No 7 peach highlighter from Boots while in London and I should use that more before buying a new product.
By the way, I am glad that you didn’t get Prrrowl. I finally tried it and I was not a happy with it. The gloss had chunks of blue glitter which is what is supposed to make your teeth look whiter. Maybe you would wear that clubbing or ravin’ but not every day. And the mascara didn’t really show up on my lashes. Taking it back… bleh!

Hi marisol,
Oooh good to know I am glad I didn’t get it either then! They actually didn’t even have it out in Bloomies yet.
Ooh I love highlighters. I loved Benefit High Beam but couldn’t use it on my face because it contains pore clogging ingredients that aggravated my acne. I hope this one is safe for acne-prone skin!

Hi Jeni,
I don’t know offhand if this is safe for acne-prone skin, it doesn’t say that on the packaging, but that doesn’t mean it’s not.
Nice golden glow! I don’t have a highlighter yet either… I’m always hesitant to look at raspberry products because in my experience they tend to have a really phony scent! I’m thinking of bath gift baskets I got for Christmas a couple years ago. One had mulberry too *cringes*. I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for this though!
I’ve never used one before. Could you do a video that shows you how to apply it? I’m really ignorant to make up products.

Hi Skulda,
I might do some pics, but probably not a video. I am really apprehensive about doing any makeup videos on YouTube because there are sooooooo many people who blows my doors off. I am an amateur
I’m such a makeup noob; I’m not even sure what exactly a highlighter is and where it is used on the face, haha!
