Wine Country

Mustards Wine Country

A couple weeks ago, my friend took me to the famous Mustards Grill in Napa County for my birthday icon smile Wine Country It was really good!

Mustards sign2 Wine Country

Surprisingly we managed to get lunch reservations the day ahead, which is practically unheard of. It was on the 4th of July though, so I think a lot of people were out of town.

Outside Wine Country

Every time I go up to Wine Country, which is only about 45-60 minutes from my house, I want to move there. It’s SO quiet, peaceful and pretty. It seems like every time I go there the weather is perfect also. Yes, I am one of those people who wants to move almost every place I visit (the South excluded) icon smile Wine Country

Rounded walkway Wine Country

They grow a lot of their own food at Mustards Grill, and here is a pretty, rounded hedge leading to their garden. This is some kind of food but I cannot remember what.

Flowers Wine Country

Fig Proschuitto salad Wine Country

We started off with the fig & prosciutto salad and WOW, it was REALLY good! I have done the prosciutto & melon thing before, but never this. I loved it.

BBQ Pork Sandwich Wine Country

I decided on the BBQ Pork Sandwich with homemade potato chips & cole slaw. It was huge, sweet and delicious.

Lambburger Wine Country

My friend had the lamb burger and french fries.

CIA Wine Country

After lunch we took a trip to the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) where they have a shop and restaurant, and people from all over the world come to their school to learn how to become top chefs.

Outside CIA Wine Country

I want to live here.

Inside the barrel room, a plaque of Robert Mondavi.

Corkscrew1 Wine Country

There is a huge collection of corkscrews displayed at the CIA. Here are some of my favs.

I have a pig one at home, but it’s not old or anything

  • Beautiful! I hear you about wanting to move almost everywhere I visit, I’m the same way. Problem is, I tend to actually follow through and move. Oops. :0P

    I totally want a kitty-shaped corkscrew, BTW.

    • Hi Jordana,

I have lived in the Bay Area my entire life and now that I can’t move (family reasons) I want to! Ahhhhhh. I would totally move to Napa except no jobs there.

I’ve been to the Napa area years ago and loved it. You took some gorgeous photos and it is so very beautiful there! Looks like some delicious food as well.
