Urban Decay Naked Palette Swatches & Review

Urban Decay Nakes Palette Urban Decay Naked Palette Swatches & Review

Urban Decay Naked might be old news to some people already, but it’s still new to me.

Let’s talk about how fabulous this packaging is for a second, shall we? Sleek, thin, lightweight and sophisticated are words that come to mind. Their other palettes have been “cute” but in my opinion, totally unnecessary. They were packed with way too much gimmick (and cardboard) and took up too much space. I mean there is no way I would ever travel with the Book of Shadows II palette! But this one is SO much better!

The Naked palette is filled with twelve fabulous colors, all very wearable. While a few of these are ones we have seen before (re-packaged for this palette) there are some nice new choices as well.

Not only do we have twelve eyeshadows, they also give you a double-ended eyeliner featuring their 24/7 liners in Zero (jet black) and Whiskey (medium brown). It also comes with a mini-sized tube of their Primer Potion (which isn’t inside the palette, it just comes with it).

The colors in Naked that are already part of their permanent line are: Sin, Naked, Half Baked, Smog, Toasted and Gunmetal.

Urban Decay eyeshadows have long been some of my favs, in fact, I still have some from 15 years ago! The texture and opacity of them is what always keeps me coming back. These are just as great as others I own by them. All of these have great color payoff, great consistency, blend easily and not much fallout.

I loved this look so much I wore it twice in the last week! This is Half Baked on inner corner of lid, Dark Horse on outer corner of lid, and Buck in the crease. I used Virgin as the highlight shade on my brow bone.

Voia la!

The Urban Decay Naked palette is $44.00 which might seem expensive until you read this. These are all full sized eyeshadows. Normally a single full sized eyeshadow from them is $17.00. So you are getting a really good value, if you like most of the colors and don’t already own them.

Have you caved and bought this one yet? What do you think about it?

I found this at Ulta yesterday and am so excited! Can’t wait to use it! The colors are so pretty and really useable. I couldn’t believe they were selling 12 full sized shadows for only $44! The look you did with it is really pretty!

I saw it randomly on Sephora before I heard any of the hype and thought it was just what I was looking for (a complete set of all wearable colors for a makeup novice), but they were out of stock. I tried to buy it when I got the notice they were back in stock, but they sold out again within three hours! I finally found it on Ulta’s website and added my first butter London polish (Yummy Mummy) to make the $50 free shipping. Now that I’ve seen your swatches I’m more excited than ever to get my package!

  • Oh I wish I could get my hands on it. It’s very hard to get here in the Netherlands at this point. Ebay sells for ridiculous prices.

Oh well, luckily it isn’t limited so I will get my grubby little paws on it sooner or later.

I got this when it first came out, because I love these types of colors, especially for work-week looks… when it arrived, I used it for a week straight and still haven’t done all of the looks I want to do with it! It is a beautiful palette, and a GREAT value. :)

Gorgeous! I love the shades; they make your eyes look smokier and sultry! Very sexy!

  • I looked at it and liked it at once. Sussed it out on ebay and was gobsmacked at the price! I can’t wear eyeshadow as my eyes are too sensitive and that’s probably a good thing! It’s a lovely product.

  • I love the look that you did with this palette. I am trying not buy this palette because I have so many palettes that I don’t use. I will probably break down and get at the next friend and family sale.

    August 2, 2010
  • I was going to wait for the sale, but caved and bought the Palette at Sephora, a few days before the store associate was supposed to put them out. I am glad I got it though. It’s simply gorgeous, and not like any other UD palette I’ve ever seen!

Late on commenting here, but great review. I have this palette, too. I got it because I don’t seem to buy neutral shadows often. I would love to see you model more looks with this palette! :)

You are looking gorgeous! Love this look on your eyes. I have to order this palette. It’s definitely worth the price. I also love their shadows. The formula is terrific. Glad it’s not loaded with cardboard. I fall for the packaging but like a plain look once in awhile.
