Happy Tuesday all!

Well I hope you are coming off a nice long holiday weekend, if you live in the US that is. I wish every weekend was like this one was.

I have a very fun post today featuring the soon-to-be-released limited-edition Gossip Girl collection by Nicole by OPI. I was looking forward to this collection even though I had to stop watching the show this past season. It was getting to be a bit much, plus I watch SO many other things I liked more. Still lovin’ ya though Chuck Bass!

This collection features 4 new colors and all remind me of the ocean rather than bratty, rich, New York teens, but whatever, I still like ‘em.

The formula on these was really quite nice, as most Nicole by OPI’s I own have been. The polish flowed nicely, I got great coverage and had no streaking with the metallic one.

Party In The Penthouse

Party In The Penthouse is a metallic medium blue with light blue shimmer. For a metallic, this went on very nicely and evenly. I like the color, but I’m not totally head over heels for it. I don’t think it’s all that unique of a blue, but still pretty and worth getting if you don’t have anything like this. This was two coats.

Friday, whoo hoo!

Not only Friday, but a long weekend for us in the USA because of the 4th of July! Who’s BBQ-ing?

Ellen Sirot is a world-famous hand model. She’s actually known as “The Supermodel of Hands”! When I think of hand models the very first thing that comes to mind is when George Costanza was trying to be a hand model on Seinfeld, and wore an oven mitt to protect his hands. But I digress. Ellen has been working as a hand model for 20 years and her work has been seen all over the place in major fashion & beauty magazines, and she’s worked with some of the world’s top photographers.

Ellen didn’t start out to intentionally become a hand model, she was working as a professional dancer when she started hand modeling. She spent a year trying to find the best moisturizing ingredients possible for her hands and developed her own approach to hand care. Twenty years later, her hands are still in flawless condition and she’s now sharing her products with us so we can also discover the secret to flawless hands!

Confession: I would LOVE to be a hand model, but it’s far too late for me! I definitely have some less than desirable issues for that kind of job with my hands like veins, sun damage, crooked fingers and larger than normal knuckles (yes I crack).

Hello again!

I know many of you have been excited and anxious to see the new Zoya collections for fall 2010! Well I just posted Wicked and now have Wonderful, which consists of 6 new creme colors. Oh and did I mention one of them was named Kelly? YES, finally we have a Zoya Kelly, and I might add it’s totally unique and amazing

The formula on most of these was superb. Most only needed two coats for complete opacity.

Kelly

Kelly is a dark grey with purple/blue undertones. I am actually very happy that they didn’t go with a typical “Kelly Green” color for this one. They even told me they thought that would be too obvious. This color is SO TOTALLY up my alley! Not only is it a grey creme, which I love, but it has thins amazing smokey blue/purple to it which makes it very unique compared to other grey cremes I have. I heart it and am really happy this is my namesake This was two coats.

Good morning!!

Guess what I have today for you? One of Zoya’s new collections for fall 2010 called Wicked. This is a collection of 6 new amazing glittery, metallic colors that I think will knock your socks off! And let me first tell you the hell I went through before swatching these.

I left work at 3:25 to take the company bus to the BART train station, which is what I do every day. I found out that there were no trains running to my side of the Bay though because of an accident. Well it so happens that Mr. VV drove into the city, so he came by the BART station to pick me up. He got there at 3:50. We were stuck in GRIDLOCK traffic all the way home. I got home at 6:50!! So I spent 3 hours and 25 minutes trying to get home. All because of a stupid Giants game that just let out at rush hour. Ridiculous; I have never been in traffic like that. We lierally could have been in Lake Tahoe or Reno in a hotel room relaxing by the time we got home!

So I get home, am starving, but then see I got the Wicked collection delivered. The sun was disappearing, I was in the middle of cooking dinner, yet I swatched! I’m a multi-tasker at heart I even stood in the middle of the lawn while the sprinklers were going off to take these pics, so I hope you enjoy them! Bear in mind these were taken at 7:15 so the sun was going down.

The formula on these was really great I didn’t have any issues whatsoever.They were all opaque in two coats.

Edtya

Edtya is a fern green with multi-colored shimmer. This is totally stunning in person, this pic doesn’t do it justice at all. The green is a deep greyish/green, and all the green, gold and other colored shimmer is just fantastic! LOVE IT and don’t have anything like it.
