NYX Cosmetics Mega Shine Lip Gloss Swatches & Review
Ahhh lip gloss. I think it’s my favorite beauty item. There’s nothing quite like slicking on a fresh new color. 
I was recently at an Ulta that was having a nifty little sale on NYX items, so I snatched up my first Mega Shine Lip Glosses from them and WOW am I pleased!
Right off the bat I love that the tubes are pretty large and you get a lot of bang for your buck. The tubes are 0.53 fl oz. For size comparison, MAC Lipglass tubes are 0.17 fl oz. and more than twice the price.
The consistency is very smooth, not sticky at all and really packed with color. They are super shiny but not so slick that you have them slide down your chin (which I have had happen before- hello MAC Plushglass I’m talkin’ to you!)
Sweet Heart
Sweet Heart is a light shimmery champagne pink. It looks pretty nude in the tube, but comes out a nice, pale color.
Gold Pink
Gold Pink is just that, a pink infused with gold shimmer. This doesn’t have a ton of pigment, at least on my lips, but it’s pretty nonetheless.
Dolly Pink
Dolly Pink is a very bright, cool fuchsia pink. It’s got no shimmer, but is very shiny and absolutely gorgeous. I love bright pinks for spring and summer!
Desert
Desert is a medium shimmery taupe color. It’s on the warmer side but still worked on my lips really nicely. I think this would look amazing with Urban Decay’s Smog eyeshadow.
African Queen
African Queen is a BRIGHT purple/pink duchrome with blue shimmer. It’s amazing, plain & simple. Makes a great bold look and it’s my favorite one of these.

As you can tell the ones that really pop off in the swatches above are Dolly Pink & African Queen, but I really did like all of them.
These are all part of the regular NYX lineup and they retail for around $5.50 each. I think that’s a really great price for the amount you get and the quality of the product.
The only real negative I have about these is I am not a huge fan of the applicator. It’s a bent-angle sponge tip, which would be ok except it’s pretty large, which doesn’t allow for as much control while putting it on. But that’s definitely not a deal-breaker for me.

Nice! I haven’t tried them but I don’t love paying $14 for my Khiel’s lip gloss so I’m always interested in trying a non-sticky, not so heavy lip gloss!

Three more shades I think are worth checking out: Tea Rose, Lala, and Smokey Look. I picked up a bunch of hades at IMATS but these are the ones that have really impressed me so far.
I swear by Smokey Look — it is the PERFECT peachy nude, comparable to MAC’s Frankly Fresh (but a bit more sheer and contains microglitter that you can see in the tube, but doesn’t really transfer to the lips). Anyway, this is my new favorite lipgloss and I can’t get enough of it! If I could buy one for every girl in the world I would lol.

This is so great to read about! I love lip gloss and have a ton of it. I love MAC but it is sticky and expensive. I will try these. They really look like they have great pigmentation.
Like them all! Desert might be a bit too dark for me, I’d have to try it on, myself, but they all look great. I’ll have to check them out.
